Debbie,
Just want to say "hi." I remember those first few weeks. Keep working on getting protein, fluids, and some exercise, but don't overdo it.    Mag

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

I was busy yesterday, visiting with my friend Linda. We went to a craft fair and a thrift shop, then to lunch, then I had to go to work. She checked out another thrift shop after that. She also went to Audubon State Park in Kentucky just across the border before I got up. She has good knees and back, and can do a lot more than I can. All in all, we had a nice visit and I enjoyed having her up here.

I'm bummed ... I don't think I can go to Chicago this weekend to see my family because we are shorthanded at work. The one guy who has fallen still hasn't come back to work, another guy is out on vacation. I understand, but still I'm disappointed. I wanted to see my nephew and his family. Nothing I can do. I might get some OT out of the week, though, which would help.

Everyone is very busy; can't remember everything everyone is doing. Hope you all have nice weekends and good weeks to come.

Trish, We had a get together at church Sunday afternoon. One lady made a cabbage dish with noodles and almond pieces (plus other things.) I didn't think I liked cabbage, but it was very good. Have you made it w/ noodles before?    Mag

Hi Mag,
Yes, cabbage and noodles is a traditional Polish dish, and is so easy.  Basically, you saute the chopped cabbage in some olive oil, until it's tender.  Mix with cooked noodles, add whatever other ingredients desired, and season as desired.

We have other yummy Polish dishes, but I don't know how to make some of them.  One of my favorites is pierogies.  I only like the kind with farmers cheese stuffed into them.  The other thing I absolutely love is kielbasa.  I don't buy it at the grocery store.  I go to a Polish butcher who makes it fresh and in two ways.  One is smoked, like Hillshire Farms, in color, but so much tastier.  The other is fresh, which is so yummy.  It is unbelievable.  It has just the right amount of garlic in it.

Hugs,
Trish
