Summer Sunday Hello
Aloha Margaret......OMI...what a wonderful, wonderful first hand look at your ancestry. It give me what they call in Hawaii "chicken skin." (goosebumps!)
My father was from Sweden and came over to America when he was 21 only knowing two words in En glish...."coffee and donuts." Ha. He went from Ellis Island to Oregon eating.......you guessed it....coffee and donuts.!!
My brother and I have said for years we'd love to go to Sweden and find the familiy left there, but never have. I am so glad that you did that, and have a real connection with your heritage.
My father was wonderful, and learned english very good. He was the last of 15 children and had such a rich history, but don't you know that we children didn't think that was interesting, and didn't mine the well while he was alive.
Thank you for sharing your story and reminding me how much I lost by not making my father's history as important as it is.
Good luck to you always,
Aloha nui loa,
Maui Karen

Hi Trish and my OFF family:
I'm glad Utley is feeling better.
I was having computer problems today. Firefox wouldn't load; Internet Explorer never opens my mail, so the only way I could get anything open was to download Google Chrome, which is what I'm using now. Which is fine, but I don't like the bookmarks bar and when I type here on the forum, I can't type in the bigger type ... I have to type in smaller type first, then change it. So that's a pain.
And the other pain is my left knee. Not sure what I did to it this time, but it feels like something is twisted or broken or pulled or out of whack. I can barely stand on it and it hurts to do anything ... even sleep. I got maybe 4 hours last night. Got up at 6:30 a.m. and couldn't get back to sleep, so I finally got up and had breakfast, made a pot of coffee, finished watching the Olympics from last nigh****ched the men's tennis gold medal match, read the paper, called mom ... all that done before noon.
Anyway, back to work today. My cake was a hit ... everyone loved it. It was mostly gone. I had a small piece and agree it was an excellent cake.
Have a good day.
