TGI Friday! What's New?
Hi my OFF family:
For some reason I've been up early every day. Today I was up at 4 a..m. I have my back procedure Lumbar radiofrequency neurotomy (facet rhizotomy) at noon and can't eat after 6 a.m. Well, I hadn't planned on getting up to have breakfast at 6, but there I was, awake at 4, so I got up and had something to eat, got some ice water (because I was so dry) and came out and watched some DVR'd shows. I'm hoping I can go back to sleep, because I don't want to sit here without being able to eat or drin****il noon. It would drive me nuts.
This procedure is supposed to give me pain relief up to a year. Hope so. Could use some pain relief.
In between watching the Olympics yesterday, I actually unpacked a few boxes and moved a few boxes out of the spare room yesterday. A friend is coming down from Chicago next week, so I need to have a place to put the aerobed.

Eileen, you definitely should experience some relief. I sure did. It may take 48 hours before it takes effect, due to inflammation from the procedure itself.
Today, I have an appointment with the pain nurse, who prescribes for the docs. Then, I have to get blood work. After that, I must do my volunteer work. Then, up to my therapist's because I got caught in a terrible rainstorm on Wednesday, and the road was flooding, and I would have been terribly late had I kept driving, and the rain kept coming down.
Must run. Prayers and blessings for all.

Update:
I woke up at 10 a.m. with a rip-roaring headache, so bad I had the dry heaves (which is because I had nothing in my stomach). Tried taking an Imitrex ... didn't work. Tried the ice pack on the neck and head ... didn't work ... tried a vicodin ... kept throwing up and sweating. Finally called the doc and called it off. Just didn't think it was a good idea to get in a car, because motion usually makes these things worse. For awhile, I couldn't even keep down water.
Finally, I was able to keep down water and peppermint tea; then some crackers. So then I took my morning vitamins and pills. I'm still sitting in the dark (mostly, just the TV and computer). I've had the blinds closed to keep out the sun most of the time because of the hot weather (it's 89 today; we had a lot of storms last night and they're predicted again today ... it may be why I'm having this headache).
Anyway, no pain relief today, just more pain. Oh goody.

Its been several days again since Ive been on because my laptop had to visit the fixit shop and I got such a pleasant surprise today when I picked it up in that it cost very little !!! I really like my fixit guy. hes honest. It was a softwear problem this time that only took a few min to solve and he only charged me for a few min work! you can be sure I take it back there for more serious problems.
Eileen. I have a friend who has had that procedure you are having done. She has had good results I pray you have the same good results.
Prayers going up for all friends who need then and for friends of friends of friends as well. Carla I am praying for your friend. It is hard having news like that.

Nothing new in my little corner of the world. My best friend, Jerry is moving to Nebraska today. His children and granddaughter are there. He had that stroke a few months ago. He needs his family. I am sure going to miss him. After Chuck died a year ago Jerry became my confidant. I have known him for years. Wish he wasn't going so far. I really need him now!
Thank God I still have my BFF Pam!!!
Jerry and I went out to lunch yesterday. Happy and sad time together. He sure does know how to make me laugh!!
I am not planning anything today. The county fair started this week. I love the fair but haven't been able to get myself to go yet. May have to miss it this year.
