Tuesday already.....what's happening in your world?
Good morning Nancy B and Diane and all my OFF sistas!
Having a better morning today, although last night was rough. Still, a new day dawns and all that. No headache so far today, so that's a blessing.
Nancy, I used that coupon from Red Lobster just last week! Butch and I took Carrie out to dinner and we all love crab legs. It's our favorite and we try to eat them every time Butch is home. Have fun on your "date" with JB!
Yes, the Olympics sure do brighten up the summer television fare, don't they? It's heartbreaking when things don't go right for the athletes. But it's thrilling when they do! I enjoy watching the shots of the parents and families in the stands. So much sacrifice and effort go into making an Olympic athlete!
Waiting to hear from Butch and know that he made it to the rig okay. After that, it's just another day with my best boy. It's too hot to go outside and play so we play inside the house. We play ball up and down the hallway and ride the trike in the living room. Crazy, but he needs the exercise!
I hope you all are doing well. I miss some of our regular posters! Love you all!

Good Morning Nancy and OFF Family,
Nancy, I'm glad you felt up to posting. I love Red Lobster, but since I can't eat shellfish, I avoid it, because of the temptation. They do have the best biscuits, and they sure are hard to resist.
I'm heading to a meeting at noon, and then tidying around here today.
Must scoot.
Hugs,
Trish

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.

Good mornin' ya'll.
I made it back from IN yesterday. We got there Friday about 6 PM. Checked into hotel and headed for the hosp. Dr. had induced her the night before, were giving the potassun (sp?). Dr. said between 8 and 9 PM. Ha!! Her Mom and gramma were there, plus us. All of us except our grandson and his MIL were sent out. Her mom finally came out to tell us they were taking her for a c-section!! Cori had done all that work and was worn out!! Poor girl! But baby DJ had his head tipped back and the Dr. couldn't get his chin down. Anyway, he was born at 9:45. 6 lb 11 oz 18" long. But once his head finishes reshaping he will be shorter. It was a little pointy after all the stuff trying to get him headed in the right direction. Dr. was sure he would be between 7 and 8 pounds! He has wavy light brown hair and is perfectly perfect!! We went back to hotel about midnight. Back to hosp at 10 Sat morning. Our grandson was exhausted. He had been trying to sleep on the chair since Thursday and eating out of the vending machine. We talked him into going to lunch with us, but it was hard. His wife and MIL kept saying go, go. He is just sooo proud! And so trying to be so helpful to Cori. Sunday we had to have our grandson to his recruiter at 3 PM. As we were leaving the hosp. he said that was the hardest thing he ever had to do! He got inducted into the Navy and off to Great Lakes for bootcamp! It was funny when we first got there. The nurse and Dr. were always referring to times like 21:45, then translating for us. We explained that were all military and understood the 'real' time. Cori's Mom is retired Navy.
Anyway, we got home yesterday afternoon. Ya'll know how our son felt about this baby. But he kept texting, requesting updates and pictures! I think the fact that the baby was only 6lb 11oz made him feel more secure in who the father was. But also, it's a freakin' BABY for God's sake. The parents are over-the-moon happy. We should all be, too!
Anyhoo! Nancy, it is sad about your Sis, but we know you can only do so much. Diane, woohoo!! So happy for you. Mag, I'm so glad your pet sitting is working for you! Vickie, you are on your own again! How do you do that time after time?
My Sis is supposed to get a date for her heart surgery this week. She has to be off her coumadin for 4 days before they can operate. I am ready to drive up when her DH calls. Our grandson graduates from bootcamp, probably the last week in Sept, and of course we all want to be there. Then I leave Oct 4th for OR to visit our daughter. I'll be on the go a lot. I love it! Still no 'demands' from her ex's lawyer. Except they don't think the CFO gave an accurate account of our daughter's worth! Her ex called crying and yelling. He was reading her medical records. ( Not sure why his lawyers thought they needed them, but of course daughter had signed a consent for him to have access back when they were friendly.) He was all broken up cause she was on birth control and he has a vasectomy. She had to remind him her Dr. put her on them to even out her periods. She told him stop reading if he didn't understand what it all meant!! He has still not been able to stop drinking for 2 days so he can start his antibuse. He told our daughter she can't have full custody of their daughter since she travels so much and can't care for her. She said she was travelling less now, but he had just had their daughter for 3 days and was drinking the entire time. He asked if she was gonna tell his lawyer that! She said she had told HER lawyer, so his is bound to find out!! When she is home, which is most of the time, both kids are with her anyway. They DO NOT want to be with their dad. But our daughter is afraid they won't tell the judge that, cause they think their Dad is 'fragile' and they don't wanna hurt his feelings! Poppy****!!
Gotta finish unpacking and doing some mail?
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

We went to Red Lobster a few weeks ago and he ordered a full lobster without asking the price. HAHA. Bill came and it was $56 just for the lobster!! Glad he was paying that bill. He ate all of it. I can and do eat 1/2 a biscuit.
Haven****ched to much of the Olympics. Kinda mad cause I can****ch "Days" now till they are over, lol.

Watching the Olympics constantly...Canada has only won 4 Bronze so far today so none of the excitement of the Gold winners....Our heatwave continues, broken by a brief thunderstorm this evening around 5 pm which affected rush-hour traffic and not much else..Gardens are still very dry and lawns continue to be gold colour. Went to the dentist for a cleaning, did some errands and crept back home in my AC car to my AC apt and just dran**** cold white wine..(with ice cubes in the glass...waters it down but keeps the cheap wine ice-cold).The heat and the wine make me too lazy to do anything worthwhile, so had a nap. Feels great to be retired.
