Missing In Action
I've been missing in action, so I thought I would give a quick update.
Every year, I meet with thousands of other college professors and some highschool teachers for the weeklong grading of the AP exams. While it pays damned good, it is a killer on the back and neck. I really am thankful that I have been doing yoga because I could read standing up and do major stretch exercises.
Getting back from the AP Read, I headed over to New Mexico for a week long workshop and conference. New Mexico is basically flat and running there is so much easier than running in the Ozarks, so every evening and some mornings, I jogged a mile or two around the city and back .
DH's eye sight is so improved and he has now been given an eyeglass prescription, so we are so happy. He is now back to driving and I am very pleased in that event. His next transplant will be after Christmas.
Now I am getting ready to head to the Middle East. I am going to represent our University at a conference and help set up our writing program at a Unierversity that we are partnered with, so I will attend to the writing needs of the business students by creating the class, training the professors, and adopting the materials. In addition, I am going to do two weeks worth of work with those students who are coming to our University in 2013. I will provide them with a class that hopefully will help them with their writing so we can get them into the university more quickly.
Then, school starts and I am back to doing workshops and teaching. Life is all about keeping active and doing the exercises that keep me out of pain and mobile. Right now it is still dancing, running a little, and yoga. I have practically adopted yoga as my all time favorite activity. My yoga teacher is starting a new class that combines yoga and martial arts…I might try it.
Well, to you all, stay active, eat healthy, and don't, under any cir****tance, give into the negativity that will suck you under.

Jeanne,
As always you are busy, good for you and glad to read your DH is seeing well enough to be able to drive once more. Hope your travels to the mid-east go well and that it is a wonderful experience for you. I will look forward to hearing all about it when you return.
Hugs, Laureen

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen
