Manic Monday What's Up?
Well, they say the third time is a charm, so here goes! This is my THIRD attempt to post today!
Hello my OFF sistas!
Tri**** sounds like you had a wonderful weekend getaway. So did we! Oh we had the best time! It was just what the doctor ordered for sure. Our little B&B was just beautiful. We loved staying in the carriage house and the private courtyard with the hot tub was fabulous! We spent a LOT of time in the hot tub. We really miss our big hot tub back home. We had mimosas in the hot tub in the mornings, shopping and antiquing in the afternoons, and lots of fabulous food. It was so good to just be a couple again, instead of parents and grandparents. We really needed the chance to relax and reconnect with one another.
I didn't buy too much. A couple of tee shirts, some things for Benny, a birdfeeder, etc. Just odds and ends. Oh, but I did buy me the cutest "**** kicker" hat you ever saw. Has a big orange daisy on it. Just adorable. It was so hot that Butch bought him a new hat, too. The heat didn't stop us! We just donned our new hats and kept going.
(For those of you who don't know what a ****kicker is, it's a straw cowboy hat that looks all beat up, with curled brims and sweat stains. Of course, mine is brand new, it just looks aged.)
Tomorrow we are headed up to Waco to visit with our oldest daughter for the day. Butch needs to fix Carrie's fence so that Lulu can't escape anymore. Thinking about going to Austin on Thursday evening to see my cousin in the outdoor production of The Sound of Music at the Zilker Outdoor Theatre. We'll see how tired we are after tomorrow's venture. Friday and Saturday will be filled with taking care of things around here and then Butch flies out again on Sunday. Sigh. Time goes by so quickly while he is home.
Grammy, I hope all goes well with the birth of your new ggrandbaby and that your Sissy feels better soon. Been there with Chris on the suicidal mood swings more times than I care to count. Eileen, I'm sorry you've hit a rough patch at work. It happens to all of us. I sure hope they understand that and can overlook it this time. Connie, I hope you start getting some relief from your fibro flair. Mag, I hope you are feeling better and your medicine tweak will help lift your depression. Carla, have fun with all your summer travels. I'm sure I've forgotten several who posted, but you know I love you all!

Went to the gym this morning., did a half hour on the recumbant cross trainer then a half hour with my personal trainer.
Hubby and I have decided to update our kitchen a little so we went to look at granite for the counter tops and backsplash. Then we went to look at some new flooring. Boy it sure starts to add up.You start to say well if we are doing this we should get a new undermound sink and Oh we need new taps and Oh we need a new fan for over the stove........
Any how we are looking at some different colours and options.
It is soooooo hot here in southern Ontario, looking at storm and tornado warning.
I am booking a day at the supermarket to sell tickets on our church raffle quilt. I also volunteered to make a table runner for our Priest and his wife as they are leaving our church. So between that and now I am Web Mistress for my Quilt Guild and trying to finish up my sewing room I will be a little busy in the month of August. That should help it pass quickly before my next round of appointments.
Have a wonderful day everyone.
