Manic Monday What's Up?

Good Morning OFF Family,
I am home from a wonderful weekend in St. Louis.  We went yarn shopping, and my sis-in-law found a chocolate store that had sugar free chocolate covered peanuts.  Got to have lunch with my daughter-in-law and her Mom.  Am so proud of her for her awesome performance of Maria.  Had good flight coming home too.  Was able to eat small portions, but did taste some gooey butter cake.  Only had a bite.  Did tons of walking.  Had great flights both ways.  No delays.  Utley missed me terribly, but I had a good friend coming in to care for him each day.

Today, I have to get some unpacking done.  I also have my INR to check my Coumadin level.  Then, this afternoon, I have my volunteer work to do.  I am psyched.  I love it.  Tonight, I have an AA meeting, and then get to watch my Phillies.

Have a blessed day.

Hugs and prayers for all.
Trish

Good mornin' ya'll.
Trish you sound so upbeat today. I'm sure you are happy to be home, and Utley is happy to have you there. I have always wondered where did he get that name? Is there a signifigance to it?
Yesterday my DIL and I finished the last quillow. This morning I put my sewing room back to rights. I am still working on an afghan. I think I will send it to my grandson in OR.
Our other grandson is going into the Navy on the 30th. They're baby is due on the 28th. Apparently the doctor is going to 'strip her membranes', so little DJ will be born before his Daddy goes into the Navy. I've never heard of that, I'm not sure what it entails. I hope it isn't painful to the Mommy or harmful to my great grandson!
I'm making some healthy soup to freeze in individual portions but I'm out of lentils. So DH and I are going to brave the humidity to go to WM!
Also gonna send some flowers to our daughter, who is still struggling with her hopefully soon to be ex. And some to my Sissy who is anxious about hearing WHEN they are gonna schedule her heart surgery. Last time I spoke with her she sounded in her way depressive suicidal mode.
Of course, I don't have to leave the house to do the flowers. Isn't the internet grand?!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Hi Caroline,
Utley's named after Chase Utley, the second baseman for the Philadelphia Phillies.  He's an awesome batter and infielder.  I know.  I'm a little obsessed.

Don't worry about your grandson's wife and baby.  I had my membranes stripped with my second pregnancy.  It hurts a little, but by that time, I didn't care.  Basically, what the doctor does is put his finger between the uterus wall and the membranes, not breaking the water.  He does it all the way around the cervix.  I had mine done in the afternoon, and was in labor that evening.  My labor was about 12 hours long.  I had long labors.  My first, my daughter, went 24 hours.  Chris, my second was 12 hours.  Sean, was the shortest, 6 hours.  Of course, Chris and Sean were 10.5 pounds at birth as well.  Colleen was only 8 lbs. 9 oz.

I'll be praying for your grandson and his precious family.  Does his wife live near family to help her after the baby arrives?  I know, my daughter was extremely grateful for all the help her Dad and I gave the first two weeks after each baby was born.  We each helped with housework, and put meals in the freezer for later.  After Franklin arrived, I also did a huge amount of driving Isabel to school, and playing with Lincoln and her.

Hugs,
Trish

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

Well, I'm a little worried today ...made another mistake in the paper (didn't realize it until I saw the paper this morning). Story didn't end ... it did when I printed the proof of the page.  The sports editor made one change, I checked it and it ended ... well, I thought it did. Don't know what happened. Don't know what's wrong with me lately. My mind is going on me. Maybe it's the pain. I'm afraid I'm going to get suspended or fired now. Maybe I should just file for disability.

Plus, I coughed most of the night ... feel like I've had an asthma attack. I've had problems breathing most of the morning, too. Hot coffee and cough medicine has helped, as has my rescue inhaler. But still feels like I can't breathe.

Trish, I knew Utley was named after Chase Utley. I named my first cat after Ron Kittle .... White Sox outfielder and rookie of the year in 1983.

Your Phillies won yesterday ... my Sox are slipping fast.

Well, not much else. Have a good day.

Eileen....I can understand the Fibro fog you are in. Mine has been bad too. Plus you are in so much pain. That makes concentrating all that much harder.

Hope all goes well with your job. I envy you if you can still work. I have been on disability for years. Mine has more to do with my COPD.

I guess that's not unusual. Our friend here has a Maltese named Jeeter!
Baby being induced Thursday evening. DIL and I are headed to IN on Friday morning. It's a 12 hour drive for us. We don't think there is a reason to sit in a waiting room.....well, just waiting! Our grandson leaves for the Navy Monday. We will start back home after he leaves.
I am saddened that my son, or our other grandson don't want to go. Our son is still bitter about the fact that HIS son got his girl pregnant. These things happen. He still thinks the baby could be her previous boyfriend's. Our other grandson won't go because he is disapointed in his brother! Neither of them can see the long range picture!
Eileen, I hope there are no reprecusions from work. If you feel you have a case then you should ABSOLUTELY file for SSI disability!
I hope everyone is having a great Monday!

And yes, our granddaughter-in-law will continue to live with her Momma until our grandson gets done with boot camp and his A school. My Momma came out to help when her grandkids were born.. It is a GREAT help. Especially the time I had twins!
