Great.  I'm a Barix baby.  I hope to get back to support group meetings and hopefully, we'll meet.  I live in Bristol.

Hugs,
Trish

Thanks, Trish! I have not yet gone to any of the groups. Thought I would wait till i get actual approval. Barix said they don't see any reason why I would not get approved by PC but I am still trying not to get too excited till it actually goes through. I had my psyche eval on Friday and the doc said he would get the report out to barix over the weekend and that he does this all the time. All PC wanted was the psyche eval. I also have my sleep study scheduled this week and endoscope next week and cardiac clearance the following week. So, hope to know something by end of August.....

Hi Diane, If by PC you mean Personal Choice, I was approved rather quickly by them based on my comorbidities.

Here's hoping everything falls into place for you.

Hi Diane,

Good to see you here, this is a great place to get support, as the people on this board are friendly and helpful and I have been here since July 2007.

Dr. Medvetz' patients seem to love her and I'm sure you will do well.

Best wishes, Laureen (Barix Support Group Leader)

Hi Debra,
Welcome to OFF.  You have made a terrific start on some of the lifestyle changes necessary to make WLS transition easier.  I am confident that when you have this surgery, and begin to lose weight, you'll see some of the comorbidities disappear.  I was prediabetic, high cholesterol and constant pain in my knees from arthritis prior to my surgery.  Since my three month bloodwork, I have am no longer prediabetic, off cholesterol meds and have no knee pain.

I hope you'll check in here often.

Hugs,
Trish

Debra,

Congrats of taking this big step towards healthier living.  I really believe that you will be happy with the results and amazed at how much more enjoyable lliving life can be!

I started participating on this board in July 2007, before I even had my surgery date and I used OH as a tool to research long before that, but this board is one of the two I continue to come to as an aid to this journey.  It has become like an extended family and I've even been privileged with meeting a good number of folks who, some still come here, others not, but we stay in touch.

Anyway, congrats again on preparing for your new life!

Laureen
