hello friends...a very good morning...its a hot day today....just had my cuppa...
i need to do shopping...buy some sarees for funtional wear in school.
have u all seen a saree..its a six metre cloth very beautiful comes in thousands of types and materials..it has to be wrapped around the body and tucked into a slip...midriff is bare and on top we wear a tight fitting blouse..looks beautiful if you have a good figure...but difficult to manage unless you have practice. here most women wear it, only youngsters have started wearing jeans and trousers.
I dont enjoy wearing it, with my arthritis as it is walking is difficult!!!

Good mornin' ya'll.
Vrinda, a saree sounds beautiful. I wouldn't like the tight blouse part. But anything that just wraps around and tucks in sounds comfy. I would probably catch it on something and unravel though!
This morning I had my tea with the folks at 'Fox and Friends'. My DH keeps asking when I'm gonna finish this afghan I keep carting from room to room. Problem is, once it's finished I have to decide on a new one. I also have 2 small sewing projects going.
Has anyone tried Sensa? You know the commercial 'shake, shake, shake, shake your Sensa'. Our daughter bought some but she is on the go too much to use it, and has never opened it. Wanted to know if her Dad and I wanted to try it. Sure why not. Nothing else is working! I am thinking positive.
Yesterday I went and told the bank what to do with my CD when it matures next month. In case I am in NY helping my Sis after heart surgery. For now I am just having it put in my checking account until I see if our daughter needs to borrow some or all of it. The interest rate for that size CD is only 1% so I won't be losing much if I don't reinvest it til September!
It's funny, years ago when my Dad said he bought a new CD, I asked which singer!! And he was afraid to lock in his $ for too long because the interest rate was ONLY 20%. ahhh, for the good old days!
Gotta go. Gonna cart my afghan into the living room, then go to my sewing room.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Yes I sew. Right now I am making a 'booby pillow'. Don't ask! And some quillows for boys going off to college next month. A quillow is a blanket (these are made of fleece), that you can fold up and put in their own attached pocket and it then looks like a pillow. This is the third time I've made them for these boys. The first was a regular length. Then they all grew and they all needed longer ones. Now they need one for their dorm room so they can leave their other one at home. Last year I made about 20 Halloween costumes for my DIL and her friends and kids. I can and will make just about anything.
An afghan is a crochet blanket made from yarn. I make tons of them and send them to my daughter, or store them til someone needs one. Three years ago when I had my gallbladder cancer I decided I better start making them for my great grandchildren in case I didn't live to see them born. I'm still around, the first great grandchild is due this month and I am still crochetting. I also do baby sweaters, hats, booties, anything my kids request. My daughter will send me a picture and ask me to make one like it. like my sewing, I can and will make just about anything.
I will put up a picture of the booby pillow when it is done.
Do you do 'crafty things'?

Morning OFF family!!

Your sarees sound beautiful! But for me to try to wear one...haha I don't think I could...I have this middle bulge from the extra skin of weightloss...not a pretty picture!

Well it is an overcast morning here and cool also so far. Only 70* right now....rain is in the area but will we get any? Not sure yet.

Tomorrow the far startsand we were planning on going IF it isn't raining here! The tractor pull is at 6 and that would be fun to watch. Cheap enough also. Only $5 each. Then Friday night is the Demolition Derby and again that is $5 each. Cost to get in the fair is $6 each. Not bad. Not sure if they charge to park or not but wait and see I guess. The next fair in our area is the next county over and that one is supposed to be much bigger and better. That one is in August. Looking forward to that one also.

Nothing much happening here and hope it stays like that all weekend!!! QUIET!!! LOL Rick wants to go to Mansfield and do some looking around for things...guess his raise is already burning a hole in his pocket!!! LOL One thin I want to get is one of those bug wackers that look like a tennis racket! Man the bugs here are huge!! And the bees!!! WOW!!! So when we try to sit outside on the patio I can swing that racket and kill them!! LOL Plus Rick is allergic to bees...gotta keep him safe ya know!!!!  ;-)

Well I see he is finally up so must get going and make myself ready to hit the road....LOL

Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!

HUGS

Hi Vrinda and my OFF family:

I have seen sarees, but don't think I'd do very well putting one on ... I'm kinda klutzy. They are beautiful, though. I'm a jeans and t-shirt girl. Although I do like wearing my jewelry at times. Just no where to wear it to here other than work.

I woke up to a good drenching of rain (it was outside at least). Maybe it's going to happen all day. Waiting for the cable guy to come and do something with my service. Been up since 7:30 a.m. and still no cable guy. Made a pot of coffee and had breakfast, read the paper that I work for (well, those parts I hadn't read yesterday at work) and checked my email. Such an exciting morning. Might make a cake to bring into work tonight, just because it's boring on Saturday nights. One guy who got the "catch of the month" $50 is treating us to Mexican food, so I figured I'd would do something, too (even though I didn't win anything ... cake mix cake and canned frosting).

Anyway, not much else going on. Juliette is doing well a week after her flea treatment ... She seems happier, but still has some sores on her front. I wish she'd come back to bed with me, though.

Just got a call from the cable company ... technician will be here at 9:45 a.m., just 15 minutes. So I guess I'll have just a few more minutes. Have a good day.
