Happy Independence Day
Today, I am going to be tidying a little, as my sister is bringing steaks and corn on the cob over so we can do an indoor picnic. I have a George Foreman type panini maker to use, as I haven't gotten my grill over here from her house yet. I'll also be watching my pitiful Phillies, to see if they are going to turn this season around.
I hope everyone has a safe and gloriously blessed holiday. Whatever plans you have, I hope they are safe.
Hugs,

I hope everyone has a safe and sane Forth of July. Trish, I would love to live close enough to those wonderful attractions! I'd love to visit every historical site in this great country. In school the only place we lived close enough to for yearly field trips was the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY.
I'm making Peaches and Cream cheesecake and Eclairs for the party at our son's house this afternoon. Our DIL was hoping not to start the party till 6 or 7. Since tomorrow is a work day, she was hoping not to have a housefull of folks for hours and hours!! But everyone wanted to start earlier! Their house is the obvious choice for a party. They have a pool, a huge deck, lots of lawn furniture and a big grill. But, that means everyone likes to come early and stay late! We're all hoping the forecasted thunder storms either come early or late.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!
Have fun today.
Hugs,
Trish

I have had a hell of a couple days. Yesterday, I got up and found out my former boss, Andy, died. He was 55. ... He had asthma and other lung and heart issues most of his life, but I guess he started having more lung issues, so he took the most recent buyout and quit when they offered it. He planned to do some work but then got real sick. So sad. Nice guy, just put under way too much stress.
So that started the day; then I got a call from our deputy manager, who had to go to Vanderbilt with his mom, who had a problem with her cancer treatment and I needed to take over the slot (front page/in charge). OK, fine, not a problem. But I felt so confused and out of sorts all day.
Got through the night, no big problems. At home, Juliette still has the itchy bumpies, but I got an allergy pill in her and this morning she was out in the living room waiting for me. But I didn't have any a/c. It wasn't working much when I got home but it was OK when I was sleeping. Well, it was worse when I got up. So I called maintenance and they actually came over and fixed something. Can't believe that. So now I'm chilling again.
No plans for today. I'm off. I may do laundry. Otherwise it's baseball and naps. I'm very tired ... didn't sleep well, got up too early and with a headache.
I'm watching "The Revolution" on History. Good series ... watched it before, but it's interesting and tells a lot about the Revolutionary War. I love history ... I haven't been to Philly, but have visited Williamsburg, Monticello, Jamestown, Washington, D.C., and Boston. Philly ... someday. I also have been to many of the Lewis & Clark Trail sites. And I've been to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Will have to get the left knee fixed before I can do much else.
Have a good day ... stay cool. Hope your Phillies can do a little better for you, Trish. The White Sox did very well last night, but their offense is a little hot and cold ... never know what you're going to get.
Hey All, Happy Fourth. Well, today DH and I are going to our friends for a cook out. We have a ban on outside fire in our area of the Ozark Mts, so we will forego the pyrotechnics this year and settle for good food and good conversations. I am taking stuffed eggs and baked beans, so in a while, I better get started cooking. Last week, I picked up what I thought was a bug of sorts, so I went in for my B12 shot and had the doctor look me over and come to find out, I have pneumonia…was only wheezing a little. He xrayed the lungs and said on both bottom lobes my lungs were white out. I wondered why I was so short of breath when I tried to walk. So, I refuse to go the hospital and am getting IV antibiotics at home. I gave myself tube feedings for a long, long time and guess I can handle a little IV port. Plus, my BFF is a DON over a really large hospital so she comes over and helps me keep it working. I only have to do the IV antibiotics for five days..three more to go. It is so stinking hot here. We have not had any rain for weeks so the mountain is wilting. If it weren't for all the lakes and underground streams, the trees would have already died. Last week, we had temp****ting 110. That was one reason I didn't know I had pneumonia: when it is that hot, no one can breathe. Well, I gotta get busy. My husband just told me that I am being featured on our University--well, our college's website. I am running to look at the picture to see if it makes me look old. Sigh! Hope you all have a wonderful day.
So sorry you are sick. The only time I have had pneumonia I had not clue. I have asthma and a clotting disorder. Whenever my asthma inhaler wouldn't get the wheezing, I would go to the ER, because of the clotting disorder. (The day before my baby brother died of a pulmonary embolism, he said he thought he was coming down with bronchitis. He also had the clotting disorder.) So, in October 2010, I went to the ER, they did a CT scan of my lungs, and admit me for a pulmonary embolism and pneumonia. I suspected the clot, but had no clue about the pneumonia. They gave me breathing treatments four times a day, which made me feel so much better. They ordered me a nebulizer, which I continue to use occasionally.
So, take care of yourself.
Hugs,
Trish
