Aloha OFF sisters....Wow I can't believe no one has started the thread today. It's 7:35 a.m. in Hawaii, so I know it's the middle of the day for a lot of you.

Not feeling very well this morning, so I didn't go to work at the hospital. Decided to come in here and see what all of you are up to. Strangely I am in a situation where feeling ill has left me with no appetite and I am again losing weight to the point of being almost too skinny. I hope it's not an ulcer.

My kitty, Poki, is on my lap....she demands her early morning cuddle and if I get buy on the computer, she makes a big drama of jumping off my lap and huffing down the hall with tail flipping...Ha. Makes me laugh.

I would write more, but feeling poorly again...need to lay down.

Hope you all have a healing day, mentally and physically. The support in here is beyond amazing.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Good Morning Karen and all to follow,

It's still morning in AZ. I can not believe it's so late and only 2 of us have posted. Is everyone out BBQing? It's way too hot to be outside today. Will do paper work and some cleaning. Will watch a movie and relax. Need to be good to myself with this break from pet sitting.
Take care.   Hugs to all,    Mag

Aloha Mag.......Guess I got on early because the site was down. That has never happened before. I log on around 6:oo a.m and there are usually many posts. I wondered if something was wrong.

Watching the news is making me feel sad for so many right now. Flooding, fires, wind storms, and HEAT!! Hopefully everyone is able to stay in their homes and get through this. Can't even imagine what it would be like to have my home burn down. OMG

Have a nice day...

Aloha nui loa,

Karen

Aloha Karen,
I tried to check in to all of my OH forums this morning, and the site was down.  So, I checked into Facebook and posted there that I missed my gals at OFF and on the PA Forums.

I went to the grocery store and got a crap load of supplies in.  Since I have to be off Coumadin for a few more days, I ot some shrimp, but forgot the broccoli.  Darn.  I'll go out later and get the things I forgot.  Or, maybe wait till tomorrow.  I have till Tuesday to eat my foods high in vitamin K.  Dark green veggies, like broccoli and spinach, and shellfish are high in that vitamin.  So, when I have to go off the Coumadin for surgery, I enjoy them like it's a holiday.

A dear friend from church came by with some stuff she didn't need.  The most beautiful is a ceiling fan that is bigger than the one I have, and it has white trim and newer blades.  I'm going to save the one that is here, since it is the landlord's.  But, I really like this one.  It doesn't have a light in it, but that's okay.  I have plenty of lamps in my living room anyway.

I hope everyone is having a safe, and enjoyable weekend.

Hugs,
Trish

Aloha Trish.......Your life is so busy!! You sound like you have tools for getting through the rough spots. That must be a good feeling.

It is a beautiful day here on Maui, but feeling ill doesn't make it feel like it. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Hope everything goes good for you. Actually shrimp and broccoli sounds good to me, and nothing much has for the past few days. I just managed to get down some hummus with carrots and crackers.

Sorry for the pitty party........sure to understand how you all feel when you get sick.

Aloha nui loa,

Karen

Hi Karen,
Sounds like you may have some intestinal bug.  I hate when that happens.  I'll take physical pain before a bug like that.  I usually find the only thing I like to eat is Lipton Chicken Noodle Soup.  No other kind does it for me.  Must be the salt.

Hope you feel better real soon.

Hugs,
Trish

Hi Karen, good to hear from you. Sorry you aren't feeling well. I think I'm having an IBS flare. won't go into details, too yucky. Luckily, I have the day off. I'm worried about my cat, Juliette ... I will have to call her Miss Itchy. She just sits in the spare bedroom and won't come out unless it's to eat or get treats. She spends all her time scratching and grooming. I'm very worried about her. Don't have money for the vet, so I'll have to wait.

Not much happening her. Just chillin' ... it's 105 here today, so I'm sitting inside with the blinds closed to stay as cool as possible.

Have a good day.

Eileen isn't there something you could soak her in that would help? I would call the vet and ask...that should be a free call...

Well, maybe I'll call on Monday. No, cats do not like water at all. I just don't know what to do for her. She won't take a pill. She is not acting like my Juliette girl.

Yes you CAN give her a pill! Hold her against you....open her mouth wide as you can, put the pill as FAR back into her mouth as you can then stroke her throat and she WILL swallow it!!!!!! I PROMISE you she WILL DO IT!!! There has to be something you can do for her suffering like that...trust me I have had many cats to give pills to and it CAN be done!!! Just takes ALOT of practice!!! ;-) If she has claws, wrap her in a big towel and hold her tight...it CAN be done! One way or another that pill WILL go down her throat!!!
