Good morning Jo and everyone.....

I did check in here last night as I didn't get here Saturday at all. I thought it was too late to post so here I am today!

I had a crazy fun filled weekend.  So many festivals are starting, parades, and BBQs. I love summer as everyone is out and about. You see so many people that you don't see all the time.

My daughter Carrie's FIL passed away last night. He was a wonderful man. He was in the late stages of Alzheimer's and didn't know anyone. He had a heart attack, heart failure, kidney failure, and pneumonia. They  took him off everything Saturday. He passed quietly with his family around him.

I sure wish I was in meeting distance of you ladies. No one ever ventures to Minnesota. I am only about an hour drive from Mall of America...hint hint!!

Still praying for so many of you and your families.   Know that I love and care about you all.

Have a great day!!

Howdy all my OFF sistas!

It's mid-afternoon and I just got Benny down for a nap.  Whew!  Two blessed hours of "me" time.

I took Benny to story hour for preschoolers this morning.  It was his first experience with a group activity.  For some reason, Chris never would take him anywhere with other kids.  I don't know why.  But now that I'm in charge of his days, I'm going to see to it that he gets some activities and socialization, you know?  He needs it.

Well, anyway, he did okay with it, just a bit shy at first.  He mostly sat in my lap and watched all the other little ones, but there at the end, he did get up and start to mix a little.  The librarian read two stories and did some activity songs and finger plays.  Just right for toddlers.  There's a pic on FB if you want to see.

Tomorrow I'm taking him to his first "baby-nastics" class.  I think he will really enjoy it.  He is a very "athletic" little boy--as much as a 2 year old can be athletic.  Chris was my little gymnast when she was small.  She did gymastics for years, competed at state meets, won all sorts of medals, etc.  Not olympic quality by any means, but very good, especially on floor and balance beam.  I think Benny may have some of the same qualities.  He has no fear, just like his mommy.  Me?  I tremble going down the stairs!  I don't like sports or heights or any of that stuff.

There is so much that needs my attention here at this house.  But all I really want to do is to take a nap!  I just don't have the stamina I used to have.  A daily nap is becoming the norm rather than the exception.

I'm not doing very well controlling my sugar intake.  I'm aware of it, but I keep on eating it.  I know it is going to catch up with me soon.

Well, hope everyone has a great afternoon.  Connie, the Mall of the Americas is one of my dream locations for a weekend trip.  Maybe I'll get there one day and we can meet!  :)

Love you all!

Vickie....I would love to meet you at the MOA anytime!!

I agree with getting Benny involved with other kids. Grace was kind of shy at first too. I took her to the Library events and joined as a volunteer at her pre-school outings. I used to even take her to McDonald's every Tuesday after pre-school. The same group of parents and kids always met there  that day. It helped her a lot. Now she is in charge.....LOL!!!

My daughter Carrie was my gymnast. She did great but not  Olympic quality either. None the less I was so proud of her!!!! Neither of her daughters or son were interested .....DARN!!

Jo....so glad you came back to post. You have been missed!

I know on weekends I don't usually get here much. I miss everyone so much. Sometimes it is very late at night on Sunday's, and I feel it is too late by then.

I didn't have time this morning to comment to everyone....thus I am back now!
