Manic Monday What's Up?
Good Morning OFF Family,
Well, I tried to post a What's Up, but accidentally erased it all. So here I go again.
Today is bloodwork day. I was supposed to go last week, but was too sick to go.
My homemade yogurt turned out great. I added fresh strawberries and it was yummy.
Here are the links I used to make it with. The first is the directions on making it. The second has the measurements for making flavored yogurts. I followed the directions on the first one, and added Splenda and vanilla according to the directions on the second one.

Good Morning Trish, those to come. . .
Years ago, my exhusband, who was from Iran, used to make his own yogurt, it's not very complicated as I remember, but back then I HATED yogurt, so perhaps I will try making some. . . glad yours turned out well. . .
So, I had a wonderful weekend, celebrated my son's success over dinner on Friday evening, I surprised him by picking up the tab for all of us, arranged it with the waitress before he got there, he never lets me get him anything or do anything, so I just had to, it was him, his wife, the kids and his In-laws, we had a great time! Saturday was Barix and it was a good meeting, after that I spent 3 hours walking the outlets to shop for my granddaughter's birthday next week, then home, exhausted, did some things around the house and then to bed, got up on Sunday, spent the day with Tony, ran errands, then when he left, I ran to Aldi's for a few items, came home and cooked and food prepped for my week. . . then to bed. . .
So this morning I woke up, somewhat refreshed and packed my food and off to the gym I went, spent an hour working out, showered and am here at my work station, hoping this day flies, after work, it's to visit with my sponsee at her halfway house where I will have dinner with the ladies that live there and then home to Roxie girl. . .
Hoping you all have a great day!

Good Morning Trish and Laureen,
Today has me watching my friends little girl. I am getting my grandkid fix. I miss my little one so much!!!!! Ill be taking her to the park.
We are going to watch Jungle Book soon.
I am hoping that my car will be fix sometime today but probably not till tomorrow.
I need to arrange getting a B-12 shot here in colorado. Ill call the doc I used to go to and see if he will see me and get one. Or ill just wait till my appnt with the surgeon and I know he will give me one but that isnt for 2 more weeks.
It has been threatening rain for 2 days but didnt rain!!!!!
Going camping on Friday. Meeting up with my Aunt and Uncle from North Carolina. I havent seen them in three years. it will good to catch up.
My husband is driving me nuts as usual. Calling about 6 times a day. Asking me the same questions over and over again!!!!!!
Well I guess it is what it is when I am gone!!!!!

Hi Carla,
I have to get regular B12 shots, because of malabsorption. One thing I do for when I am due for a shot, but can't get the appointment right away, is take B12 sublingually. Rite Aid sells the sublingual B12. My surgeon recommended I take them in addition to the shots. I just have trouble remembering to take them everyday.
Hugs,
Trish

Good morning Trish and my OFF sistas!
Trish, as I sit here eating my delicious raspberry Swiss yogurt, I am thinking about you and your homemade yogurt. If I was home in my big kitchen, I would try it. This kitchen at the lakehouse is too small and crowded right now for me to attempt any cooking experiments.
So, today I am an official member of the "double nickel" club! Everybody stand back and give me my senior discount, please! LOL! I feel great this year. I'm down almost 100 lbs and I feel healthy as a horse. WLS was the best decision I ever made.
Had to put Butch on a plane back to Saudi yesterday. Ask me if I am ready for that man to retire?!?! Maybe at the end of this year. I'm sure tired of making trips to the airport every month. He's either coming or going all the time. We're more or less used to it, but I could tell it bothered him greatly to leave Benny yesterday. Maybe my little grandson will be the key to making him finally retire.
This morning I am taking my little Patty Kate to a new vet in New Braunfels. We had her tested for allergies a couple of weeks ago when we were in Nacogdoches, and it turns out that she is HIGHLY allergic to dust mites! Oy vey! Poor baby. No wonder she scratches all the time. And in my house, dust mites are rampant. (I'm not sure if that's a good thing to confess or not! LOL!) Anyway, the good news is that they can give her allergy shots for dust mite allergies, so she will finally be able to get some relief. The bad news is that I'm going to have to carry her back and forth to the vet every day for awhile until they figure out the correct dosage for her and the most effective time schedule for her shots--once a week, once every other week, once a month? Who knows?
Almost all my little mamas have dropped their fawns now. I am eager to start seeing the babies. Only we had a very sad occurence on Saturday. I found a tiny dead baby deer in my flower bed. Poor little thing. We don't know if it got separated from its mother, or if she rejected it. Butch buried it for me, thank goodness. I would do it if I had to, but it was sure nice that he was home when it happened.
Our little Benny Boy is very happy to be back at Hilltop with HIS mama! Almost all the temper tantrums have stopped. Oh, he still gets upset and fusses, of course, but the constant tantrums have subsided. Thank goodness!
His little vocabulary is growing daily. He's still not talking too much, but he's repeating lots of words now. Apple, house, hat, ball, deer, 'nana, YOGURT (how cute is that?), etc. Plus he can say all of our names and the dogs' names, although he doesn't really CALL us by name yet. I was getting a little worried about him talking last month, but this month he's just sort of blossomed. Still 3 more weeks until he turns 2.
Well, I need to run brush my teeth and get ready to make the trip to the vet. Hope I can get back to my daily posting again now that things have settled down around here.
Love you all!

Happy Birthday and welcome to the double nickle club, I'm almost two years past it and at least it's good for discounts in some places (lol). . . don't know about you, but most days I really don't feel anywhere near my age. . . THANK GOD and my surgeon too!!! Like you said, WLS was one of the best decisions I could have made for me. . . it's a rocky road once in a while, but mostly I choose correctly and do what I must to stay where I need to be, HEALTHY!!!
My Roxie also has dust mite allergies, but she won't let me give her the shots and I've kind of given up, she seems better in the summer, we'll see what winter brings. . .
Take care and enjoy your birthday!
