Friday!! woo hooo!! Whatcha doin'?
Hello all my lovely OFF sistas!
You know, sunscreen really is a modern miracle! I spent 3 hours tubin' down the Guadalupe today, and by all rights, I should be burned to a crisp. Instead, I'm not even a little bit pink! For a gal who spent her entire childhood red as a lobster, this is a true miracle of modern science.
So today is a fun day for our family. We are celebrating 2 birthdays (one early and one late), plus Mother's Day today. I know--you all think we're crazy. But with Butch's work schedule this is the norm for us. A date is just a square on a calendar, after all.
Anyway, us two birthday gals decided we wanted to go tubin' today, so that's what we did. We took the baby and he did so well! We did a 3 hour float and he even took a nap in the middle of it--right as we went through the rapids. But it never even fazed him. He's such a good boy!
Tonight we are having bbq chicken, roasted corn on the cob, and strawberry shortcake for our dinner. Tomorrow night we're having fajitas--both shrimp and beef--with guacamole on the side. Yummy food for a fun filled weekend.
I'm still waiting for our realtor to finish our on-line listing of our house. He got the verbal description up today, but no pics yet! Grrrr! As soon as it's all complete, I'll post the link. I'm more than a little anxious to see how the pics turned out. I tell you all, I left that house spotless. I sure do hope it photographed well. And I really hope it sells quickly!
I've been feeding my deer again all week. I've now got a herd of between 30 and 40 deer waiting for me every morning. Oh, and the little mommies are having their babies! I can hardly wait to see them. The does make them lie down in the bush and hide during the day. Butch saw a baby last night, and Carrie saw a baby last weekend, but I haven't seen one yet. However, I can tell which one of the does has given birth each morning, and which ones haven't yet. I would say they're about 2/3's of the way finished. So it won't be long now before the mommies start bringing them out in the early mornings and the evenings.
We bought another 200 lbs of deer corn this week and 2 more bales of alfalfa hay for them. Butch and the girls all think I'm just a bit crazy, but I know how much nutrition a nursing mother needs! I want to feed them, and as long as I have the money to do it, I'm going to.
I'm also feeding the birds, the hummers and the squirrels. Chris told Butch and Carrie that it's my mission to feed everything on the hill. LOL! So sue me! I like to feed the babies.
Speaking of which, it's about time to start our supper preps, so I'd better hop off the computer and get busy. Hope you all are having a lovely weekend.

I'm back!! What a day!
Judi, stand your ground or you will be working 24/7. Vickie, when we lived in Eugene we had deer all the time. They loved jumping my fence and eating my tomatoes. And the gophers ate the roots of everything.
Ran errands with my daughter today. She had to go to her office. Her ex must have been waiting, cause as soon as we pulled in he pulled in behind her. He was in an apologetic mood this morning, had flowers and kept trying to hug and kiss her. She wanted none of that. He had been drinking last night. He is going to AA, but he can only stay sober about 30 days in a row! Later they all went to family counselling. She saw all 4 together and soon figured that wasn't gonna work. The ex and granddaughter were crying, grandson was mad. So the adults went out in the waiting room and she spoke to the kids alone, then sent the kids out and talked to the adults together. Wants to continue seeing the kids at separate times for a few weeks, then dring them all together again.She told Roger it is as plane as the nose on your face our daughter will NEVER go back to him. Part of the problem is they were divorced once from 1994 to 1997. Then got married again. The ex's dream is that will happen again. Nope! Lady told him he can have his dreams, but if it isn't our daughter's dream, it ain't happenin' That was back when they were gonna have kids and our daughter was still working up the ranks at work and he was working for a temp agency. After a few more sessions with the kids she will get them all together to discuss issues. Daughter got a bill from her attorney. She has paid her $10,000!!! She has paid his attorney $6000. The only things done? Divorce papers were filed with the court and her attorney is working on the non disclosure statement. The billing statement shows her lawyer spoke to his attorney for $1000 worth of calls. That's 2 1/2 hours. Ex says he doesn't think there has been a dialogue between the lawyers. She wants a copy of his lawyer statement to compare. She is seriously considering researching legal separation. If they go that route and get a divorce later is he entitiled to part of her money ONLY before the filing, or if it is a separation, not a divorce does the amount he is entitled to keep buildin as the years go by? If she gets a separation, she will be paying for two households and they will both have to cut back their spending. Her rent here is only $200 less than the mortgage on the house! She needs to buy another house.
As for my weight, I have been too busy to eat much. I am eating a ton of yummo blueberries every day and I think I better slow down on them, if ya know what I mean!!
