Tuesday's Musings...What are YOUR thoughts today?
Eileen,
Have you tried doing kegal exercises? I know they don't help everyone, but I had a problem with stress incontinence for a while and I didn't want to take the medication for it, so I started doing kegals and after about three weeks, it was cleared up. I can hold my rine for hours, I don't but could, and make it to the bathroom without spilling a drop. But, I do the kegals all the time.
You might try them for a month and see. Start doing them while sitting, and work from ten or so up to one hundred. Then, do them standing so you can use all of the pelvic floor muscles. Another good way to do them is while you are peeing. Squeeze as much as you can and see if you can stop the urine…that really works the sphincter and all of the other muscles, so you get an idea of how hard you are working them. I really worked hard to get the problem under control.
Hey Nancy and everyone. Today is finally coming to an end and I am sitting on the sofa with my feet up. My DH is so discouraged that he is still not seeing anything out of his right eye. I am trying my best to keep him built up and I keep reminding him that it will take time, but it feels like I am beating my head against a brick wall. Yesterday and today, I took him outside and walked him up and down the sidewalk so he could get some fresh air. He keeps asking me if his eye is looking better, and I cannot see any change. I have a nurse come in and give him his drops every hour while I'm at work. Fortunately, my insurance is paying for the nurse and she heats up his lunch for me. I still come home three times a day to make sure he is okay. He won't let the nurse help with his bath, so I fill the tub and get him in the tub and while he washes himself, I run and put clothes in the dryer and/or washer. Once he finishes, I have him stand up, and I wash his back and use the held hand shower to carefully wash his back and hair.
Then he eats. Man am I tired.
It will get better. And he has taken such good care of me when I was getting the nightly tube feedings, so I will continue to care for him, but I just go, man.
Congratulations Nancy on your 42nd Anniversary!!!
It is 9:14PM and I am finally getting here to check in. My
life has been a whirlwind for weeks. My guy severely sprained his ankle at work and hasn't been able to work for 2 weeks. We are gone all the time!!
Always nice to check in and keep up with what everyone is doing. Many prayers for so many in need.
Love and hugs to all....connie d
