Good morning my OFF Sistas,

It's been a hectic busy week.  My work has been very demanding. I am a consultant to the pharmaceutical industry and the month before a drug goes into a clinical trial, I am swamped.  This time they are conducting 5 trials at the same time, thus totally overwhelmed the past 2 weeks, so its time to catch up on all the other work.

My weight loss is continuing, and I am down 66 pounds from my highest and 59 since my first visit to the surgeon.  I am battling with clothes sizes.  It all depends on the brand as to what size I wear.  Ugh, having a home on the coast of NC, I need a bathing suit.  I can find suits that will fit except for the butt, they're all too baggy in the butt.  I've never had a big butt, and now I have no butt.  I guess I am going to buy a tankini with boy shorts.  Not my first choice, but it's the only option I have left.

When I went for the psych eval, the psychologist recommended seeing a dermatologist and recording every skin irritation, etc. in support of justifying the removal of the excess skin.  He said he had one patient, and the insurance had paid for everything (boob lift, face lift, tummy tuck and arms) except her butt and she would probably get that paid for because it was medically necessary.  It's all in the documentation.  I saw the dermatologist a couple of weeks ago, and he is all in support of why I am there.  He found a precancerous spot on my back and froze it.  He did tell me that I have a lot of sun damage on my back.  I had a cyst on my left check that had been there for a couple of years, and we decided to have it removed.  He did that last week.  I went on Wednesday to get the stitches out and he handed me the pathologist report.  It wasn't a cyst but a 'warty dyskeratoma'.  A benign rare skin tumor.  He said I've never had a patient with one of these.  He is concerned that he got all of it and the rate at which it will heal.

I ask as always for your prayers for my family and me.  I have each of you on my prayer list.

Have a great weekend!

Linda

Good mornin' ya'll.
Linda, so glad the doc found your skin problem. Also thrilled by your continued weight loss.
I'm gonna bite the bullet and go to Staples and Walmart. I have Staples rewards $ to spend before they expire. Don't really need a lot, but I have $92 to spend. I can always buy paper or ink for the printers! And Walmart.....well, there are some diet type foods to stock up on. I always buy junk stuff and fattening stuff for my son and his family and for me DH, but I let my stuff slip. So I wind up eating crap. But my weight is still going down and I have to keep it going! So, fresh fruits and veggies, fish with no breading, boneless skinless chicken breasts, etc. for me!
Pray for the families of the Marines killed in that Osprey accident in Morocco. They were stationed here at New River Air Station. Prayers for EVERY service member who has made the ultimate sacrifice.
Everyone have a fantabulous Friday!

My heart is sad for the families of the Marines lost in the Osprey accident.  I am so grateful for each and everyone that serves.  Sometimes (especially during the summer) I fly in and out of New Bern, NC if I am staying at the beach.  I drive right by Cherry Point Marine base and on more than one occassion, I have given a soldier a ride back to the base.  I started this one morning when we arrived at the airport at 2 AM and there was no taxi service.  The soldier had sat beside me on the plane, he was returning from home after visiting with his wife and new born.  I could see he was totally distraught.  I asked what was wrong and he said I have a 6 AM roll call, and no taxi.  I said yes you do and she is standing right here.  He accepted the ride and wanted to pay me.  I just replied, no I should pay you for all you're doing, so please accept this ride as a show of my gratitude.  When we got to the gate he said he had another 3 miles to his barracks, but he didn't think the gate soldiers would permit me to take him all the way.  I smiled and said let me handle this.  I told the guards, I had met this young solider on the plane and I would consider it an honor if they would let me drive him to his barracks.  They permitted me to do it.  When I was leaving the base, they stopped me and said Mam, thanks for helping out a fellow soldier.  I am thankful that I can show appreciation in such a small way.

Good morning Off friends.
Didn't even realize that today was Friday the 13Th,  I guess that shows I am not particularly superstitious!
I don't get to post very often but read several times a week,    So many old friends seem absent I hope they are all well and so busy living that they don't have time for this anymore!
I am meeting Trish today for lunch and looking forward to it.
Today I also have to get rid of my baby kittys.    I love baby cats  I just love watching their personalities develop!  Oh  well I have enjoyed them for 8 weeks and if I kept all the kitties I have had or have rescued from feral situations over the years  Id be like one of those old lady cat hoarders being raided like you see on animal planet animal cop shows!
In less than a week I will be on my way to Georgia!!!  On vacation!   I am so looking forward to it!   We had to move it up sooner to accommodate my best friend whom we vacation  with  due to ill health in her family.   That's OK  no problem cept we haven't had the time to get the motor home ready so hustle we  doing!!
prayers going up for all friends facing any kind of difficult  situations!

.... Today we are going south to see my older sister and niece.  We are going to a scrap booking weekend. I usually visit more than I scrapbook!

I am feeling stronger and happier with my decision to have surgery every day.  Weight is still dropping slowly.... But surely.  This time next year I hope to have lost enough to feel more confident to do more things that I have always wanted to do ....

Hope everyone here has a great weekend!

Good Morning Linda and OFF Family,
My son-in-law is home for the weekend, so the kids are enjoying time with him playing soccer out back.  They missed him all week, and love having him back.

I am meeting Jo for lunch, and then heading to Lansing to do some shopping for coffee K-cups for my favorite flavor, and some baby stuff for my new grandchild.  I want to have a boy outfit and girl outfit for when it is born.  I can return the one I don't need.

I also need to get to the candle shop for some of my favorite candles, as well as Best Buy to replace my lost camera.  I lost it in my move, and need to have one while I am out here.  I also need to buy a ream of paper, so I can print my taxes from Turbo Tax while I am here.  Forgot to take care of that at home, and the kids used up all of the printer paper here.

The kids keep me physically active, running around after them, and playing soccer in the yard.  I also am helping with the cleaning in the house, and changing diapers.  Lincoln did not want me to change him this morning.  He wanted his Daddy to do it, but Trent was asleep, and Lincoln was a mess.  It had to be done.  What a boy.

Must run.

Love to all,
Trish

Hi Linda and OFF friends,

So sorry to hear about the Marines. Will pray for their families.
Linda: Prayers going up for you and your family. My sis in California is named Linda. There were so many Linda's in the house they rented at college that they started calling her by her middle name Lee (actually Leone). It stuck.
My surgery went well yesterday. I'm in less pain now than I was pre-op. Big tear that was being pinched between the 2 pieces of the metal. Glad it's over and things went well.
Must go and get a healthy breakfast in me.
    Have a great day.     Mag

Good morning Linda and everyone....

I too am praying for those Marines....so sad.

Mag....glad the surgery went well....hugs and prayers!

Sounds like everyone here is keeping plenty busy. I am too with all the usual weekday things. Glad the weekend is finally here!!

I don't usually get here on the weekend because I spend that time at my guy's house and no Internet there. I need a new phone so I can at least check in from there.....and a laptop!

Wishing you all a great Friday the 13th and a wonderful weekend too!

Prayers continue for so many in need.

Love and hugs to all....connie d

Good morning Linda and my OFF sistas!

Linda, I sure hope that works out for you with the skin doctor.  I would love to have a little PS, but doubt my situation is severe enough for the insurance to pay for it.  Mostly I'm bothered by my breasts.  I just HATE the way they hang now.  Would love to have a "boob job", not to be bigger, but just to be firmer and UP again!

It would also be nice to get rid of the bat wings, but I can live with it.

Mag, I just posted to your wall on FB to see how you're doing today.  Should have got on OFF first.  So glad the surgery went well for you.  Fingers crossed for NO MORE PAIN!

BJ--you're doing great.  Every day that passes will get better and better for you.

Jo and Trish--have a good time today.  Take PICS!

Everyone else, I read all the posts.  Just CRS.  LOL!

I'm painting a new coat of redwood stain on the outside of the hot tub today, and then working on changing out more of my cabinet hardware.  Oh, and cooking another big dinner (that's LUNCH in Texas!) around noon for Juan and Butch.  I thinking meatloaf and boiled new potatoes today.  Sure do wish I had some fresh squash to go with it.  I'm hungry for summer veggies.

All this cooking and travelling the past few weeks has played havoc with my eating and my schedule for taking my pills.  I simply MUST get back on track after Butch leaves.  I haven't gained any yet, but I don't know why.  My good intentions go down the drain every day.

Well, I'd better scoot.  So much to do this morning.  Love you all!

P.S.  Well, today's dinner was meatloaf, boiled new potatoes, turnip greens, black eyed peas, cantaloupe, and I made toast out of some leftover hamburger and hotdog buns.  No time to cook cornbread today.

Juan (our Mexican worker) thinks I am the greatest cook in the world.  LOL!  I don't know what he normally eats, but honey, he chows down here at my house.  It is fun to cook for a man with a big appetite.  It's just not so fun doing all those dishes!
