Stormy Saturday
Good morning OFFville!
It's supposed to be a stormy weekend. Prayers that everyone stays safe and the tornados stay far far away!
Today is DH's last full day at home. Tomorrow he flies back to Saudi. I am feeling sad and blue again. I don't know why I let this get to me. We've been doing this same routine for years. I ought to be used to it by now.
Anyway, I don't want us to work the entire day away today. We're not going to finish everything, and we need some couple time today. Maybe go out to dinner together tonight. I need a little dose of normalcy before I move down to Hilltop next week to live with Christie and Benny! Lord above only knows how that's going to work out!
Not much other news to report from my little corner of the universe today. Hope you all have a wonderful (and safe!) weekend!

Vickie: I'm sad for you that Butch is leaving again. I think dinner is a good thing to do. Get you guys away from the house for a bit.
A person that Ellen knows ask her last night if she (Karen)could have a Pampered Chef show. How wonderful. It does sell itself. Ellen will see her husband today and give him a hostess packet to take to her. Then I'll call her and get the ball rolling.
How exciting.

Vic hope the storms are not as bad as they say they can get! We have some rain here but nothing big YET!
Going to the VFW tonight for bar bingo...maybe I or should I say we will get lucky tonight! Missed out on $500.00 the other night because I didn't sign the book sighs......
Have to get ready to go with Rick to find some mouse traps for one of the tenants. He is a huge guy and is scared to death of the mouse! Well I am too but still I think it is funny...LOL

I only won at bingo one time in my entire life. It was on a cruise, and I had to split the pot, so it wasn't all that much money. However, we were still in port, so I promptly took my winnings back into town (we were in St. Thomas at the time) and bought myself some jewelry with it! Such fun!
I think that's rotten that they called your name and you weren't signed in. I would rather not have known that one--how about you?

Hi Vickie and my OFF family to come:
Where is everyone? No one has posted yet.
I had a good time with my friend Linda yesterday, then with the Guerin Girls Group from high school. Only remembered one of them, but recognized them from their FB photos. We had a great time at this Mexican restaurant ... the food was good, they had fresh fruit margaritas (I am not a margarita person, but the others liked them; I had beer) and it was a fun place. Loud ... they had these two people going around table to table singing and playing guitars. On the way home, I didn't use my GPS and got a little lost ... took the wrong highway home and couldn't get off it because there wasn't an exit until the airport exit. I was doing fine until I got stuck by a train. Then I had to back track and go over the overpass. I hate Franklin Park because of the trains.
I have a headache this morning ... it's going to rain here, I can tell. Plus, mom is driving me crazy. Everything I do, she criticizes. I get up from the recliner, she says I make noise ... she says, "Gary doesn't make noise when he gets up." Gee, sorry I can't be like Gary. I'm surprised she didn't get upset when I came in so late last night.
Today, we're going to the birthday party for my grandnephews, Ben and Sam. Ben turns 12 at the end of the month; Sam turned 8 on April 12. Can't wait to see them; haven't seen them for more than a year. Sam is so much fun all the time.
Well, I need coffee and I must get some laundry done. Have a good day.

Sorry about your mom! I sympathize! My mom has become very grumpy and critical in her 80's too. When I called her on it, a couple of months ago, she said, "Well, Vickie, I can't help it." I said, "You can so help it!" I asked her, "What, you've forgotten how to be pleasant company?" I think she's made a bit more of an effort lately.
So glad you're having a good time with family and friends on your vacation. You work like a demon all the time. Good for you to have some fun for a change.

I said, "You can so help it!" I asked her, "What, you've forgotten how to be pleasant company?" I think she's made a bit more of an effort lately.

Vickie, I drove her to my niece's house for the party this afternoon. She complained the whole way that she didn't like the way we were going, we were going too slowly (she told me to be patient once), that we got stuck in traffic in a detour for five minutes (and that's a short time in Chicago). So when we were leaving, she had her choice of me or my brother. I told her if she wanted to go home with Gary, it wouldn't bother me ... so she went home with Gary. But I got home before them ... ha!
Then she was in such a hurry when we got home ... I was getting some ice out of the freezer and she wanted to get a pop from the fridge ... she couldn't want a few minutes or have me get it ... she complained it was "way back there" (because of all my stuff, of course), so she went to get her pop and knocked another can out, it hit her on the toe and of course, that was my fault, too.
Frankly, I am ready to go home ... she also blamed me for something that happened when we were out ... the toothbrush holder fell down ... I hadn't even touched it and Mom said, "What did you do to it?" I told her it was like that when I came home.
If I come home the next time, I want to stay with someone else ... I can see I'm a "burden" on both Gary and Mom. She sure doesn't seem to want me here. Everything I do is wrong.
Then she was in such a hurry when we got home ... Going with my guy to his families Easter party today. I hope they have things I can eat!!
