TGIF- What's Happening?
I am up early this morning, because I have to be at the lab at 7:30 am. I have an 8:15 appointment at the hematologist''s office and the labwork must be done prior to it.
When I get home, I must get back to packing for my trip. I also must vaccuum out my car, because it is full of dog hair. Argh. Utley is shedding something fierce.
I went to Walmart yesterday, and got some clothes for my grandson. I got an adorable Phillies shirt and matching shorts. Then two sets of pajamas, both with shorts for summer. One has Toy Story characters on it. The other has Grover on it. I couldn't decide which one, so I got both.
I hope everyone has a great day.
Hugs,

I've been up since 3AM. Did go to bed early last night. Couldn't keep my eyes open. Have lots to do today. Must stay on track. I need to get my eating back on track too. Haven't been strict with myself since my trip to Austin. Still have a ways to go before I reach goal.
I must go get my coffee. I'm addicted to coffee. Better than other things I guess.
Thinking of you all as I go about my day. Mag

I just now got to open the letters you sent me. Thank you for the gift of the mini measure! That was very sweet of you. I really do like the little glass bowl very much. Next order I make with you may be for a set of those!
Just so you know, I LOVE the brownie pan!!! I've used it over and over again for cornbread and drop biscuits (but not for brownies--LOL!).
Hugs, sweetie!
My son just texted he would be here at 10 for his usual salad.
As I mentioned yesterday we had a great time in Vegas at the ACMAs. One of the guys we hung with wants a hat like the guy in the Zach Brown band, so I will get that done today and mail it to him.
Yesterday we got the form all ready and faxed it to our daughter in case her attorney thinks the ex will try to get half of OUR accounts since our daughter's name is on all of them. He doesn't know she is a joint owner on them so it probably won't come up. But, just in case.
It's a rainy schmutzy day here today. I ordered some stuff off the GMA Deals and Steals. I love that weekly segment. This week I am gonna get some of their household products to try.
That's about it. Prayers to all that need them! I miss lots of the regulars who are obviously busy with their lives!
Oh, I have gotten rid of the 2 pounds I picked up somewhere in Vegas. Apparently what goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas does NOT apply to extra pounds!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!
Afternoon OFF family!!
Wow not many posting at all today so far. Guess they are busy with Easter prep?
Got the afternoon off today and the whole weekend...still have to open and close laundry rooms and club houses but that is it. Nothing going on here anyhow...all caught up so its rest and do whatever we want!!
Got our ham and stuff I need to make cheesy potatoes for Easter dinner. Still would like some baked beans...but not sure yet.
Talked to my mom last night and she will not let me come and get her so she can spend some time here with us. Sighs. But her dog is not doing well so I can understand that. She is old and is in heart failure. She also has a tumor on her foot and vet said surgery now? Not a chance. So hope she lives comfortably for what time she has left. Poor thing.
Well that is about it for me today. Going to go to store and see what I can find.
Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!
Have a nice EASTER!!
HUGS
Just popped on to check the posts. We are busy bees here today, but not so stressed as the last few days. Hubby and I made the decision not to try and finish all the things we had planned to do before he leaves on the 15th. We are just too tired and time is too short. So, we won't be putting the house on the market at the end of this month as planned. I hate it, but we can only do what we can do and then no more. As I am constantly reminded, God is in control, not me. Maybe there is a reason for all of this to be happening right now.
However, we are still going to do as much as we can in his last week home. (Just not pressure ourselves to do the impossible.) So today my sweet oldest daughter (who is home from Baylor for Easter weekend) and hubby are installing my new kitchen sink and faucet. Yay! I had to wash dishes in the laundry room this morning. This afternoon we are going to load up the trailer with all of these boxes I have already packed and make a trip down to the near-by lakehouse to see our new metal building and start storing stuff in it. Tomorrow Juan is coming and we plan to spend the whole day doing yard work.
I got up at 6:30 a.m. and went to the store because we didn't even have milk here for the baby to drink. I got all my shopping done for the weekend. You remember I wasn't planning to have an Easter celebration here at all as of last week, so I had to kick into high gear. I bought a ham and sweet potatoes and green beans for our Easter dinner. Also bought 3 dozen eggs. The girls and Benny will dye Easter eggs in the morning. I'm going to make a berry cobbler for our dessert on Sunday, but I'm making it sugar free and gluten free. Not sure how it will turn out, but we'll try it.
Chris and Benny are doing well. Chris seems to have relaxed just a bit. You can tell she is tremendously relieved to be out of that mess with John. For those of you who have expressed concern, let me just add a few details. First of all, while it is true John isn't supposed to drive and has no car, we realize that's not fool proof. However, he doesn't know where our lakehouse at Canyon Lake is exactly. And Christie has never given him or his parents our address there. (Although John's mother did ask for it the other day, and Chris wouldn't tell her.) The neighborhoods at the lake are a rabbit's warren of twists and trails through the hills around the lake. You could drive around all day and never find our house there.
Secondly, I just don't think he cares enough to pursue her and Benny. He's not a real ambitious or driven type of person. He's more of a dud, a deadbeat. I suspect that eventually he will just drift away from them. Yes, emotions are running high right now, but I don't think that will last. It's just not his personality type. He gives up on everything. He'll give up on them, too.
And no, there's not a chance that Chris will decide to go back to him. She is not the type to stay in an abusive relationship. She is like me. A man might get the jump on me once, but that would be it. It's like I told my husband years and years ago, before we got married: if you ever hit me, I'm gone; if you ever cheat on me, I'm gone. We are not the type of women to put up with that nonsense.
So, things are not ideal, but they could be much, much worse. We will work out the details on a day-by-day basis as best we can. The next steps will be to settle the issue of their car, and the issue of child support. I told Chris we are not giving the car up. For one thing, he can't even drive it. For another, Butch and I gave them $2000 to make the down payment on it. So if Butch and I have to buy it outright to get it out of his name, so be it. Chris and the baby need the car, not him.
Well, I didn't mean to write so much, but I got started and couldn't quit. I just trust you all to understand. And, as Connie said, please don't post any thing about this on FB.
Love you all!
I'm a little aggravated by FireFox and OH today ... I change this to Medium type and it keeps changing back to little ... even I can't read it. I'll just wait till I'm all done and change it back.
I too am busy getting ready to leave on a trip ... spent the morning running to the bank, gassing the car, getting gift cards for the grandnephews for their birthdays and some goodies for my mom and my brother for Easter, cards for everyone, etc. The traffic was horrendous ... I found another route to get where I wanted to go, which made it a little easier. Got a free Starbucks drink for my birthday, yum! Plus the credit union was giving out free popcorn.
My brother is extremely depressed ... still no job, his unemployment runs out on Sunday and he had to pay income taxes of $1700 for state and federal ... and he's been unemployed! Seems to me if you don't have a job you shouldn't be paying income taxes. He still has the part-time job with Bath Fitters, and they're giving him more hours, but he keeps getting turned down when he applies for jobs ... and I know a big part of it is his age. It's horrible. I'm so worried about him. Keep him in your thoughts/prayers/whatever.
That's all for me. Opening day for my White Sox. They're losing right now. They're not going to be very good this year, I don't think. But baseball is still fun. Have a good day.
Also have to finish collecting my papers and receipts for the accountant I see Monday as our Canadian tax season is upon us and annual income tax has to be done and paid by end of April....I should have finished this weeks ago, I am such a procrastinator..Now I have to do it with an aching belly, and I`m bellyaching about it..It will keep me busy over the next 2 days and quiet at home, together with reading and TV since I am no longer entertaining people for an Easter Lunch and am supposed to stay home and not irritate my intestines and take it easy..
Looking forward to carrot soup for supper, and tea later...and water, water, water....what a lousy Easter!
