Thursday What's Happening?
Good Morning Sweeties,
Kidney specialist appointment was good yesterday. She ordered further labs. It sounds like the worst thing that could happen is I would be put on fluid restrictions. Not my favorite, but I have survived it before.
Today, I have my AA meeting. Then, the rest of the day will be spent cleaning this disaster of an apartment. Tonight is my awesome Bible study.
I hope everyone has a blessed day.
Hugs,
Trish

Good mornin', ya'll.
What's happening? Nothing!
That's about it for me. I really do not like having nothing to do. I'm working on a baby afghan I don't like, so I am procrastinating. My new diet prevents me from constantly grazing. I don't leave for Vegas til next Friday, but I don't wanna try on clothes and decide what to take till next week. Don't wanna get my new pedi or get my hair trimmed til next week.
Our son has had Dr. appts all week so he hasn't stopped by for his salad and a nap. He has stopped by later in the day to say hi, but I miss his visits. They break up the day.
I have been doing my treadmill, and I did some weeding, a job I HATE!
Oh well, maybe I'll start a book. Lord knows I have enough of them in my iPad!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Good Morning Trish, Carolyn and Those that come later,
Another foggy morning, but I made it to work safely and am feeling good today. . .
Last night's meeting at Barix (Support Group) rocked, there were 3 folks who were celebrating their "Successing" since having this life changing surgery, one was 5 years, the others 3 years, all are doing well, facing their challenges daily. We also had the privilege of having one of the surgeons who performs various WLS at the meeting for a question and answer session and she really gave us a lot of good information about this and the mainstay is as we well know the phase called maintenance, we most of us have failed miserably, with that in mind, I think it really important for us to realize that OH is a support place where we've come to get support on this journey of ours and one of the women (almost 5 years out) made a good point, it used to be we came here and talked about what we are eating, exercising and the like and while people come regularly to share their life events, which is fine, we are losing sight of the fact that our struggles begin in earnest after the weight comes off and we, some of us (though I'd say a vast majority of us) slip into our old food habits and therein begins the regain.
With that said, I think it is important for us to be accountable and so I am going to try and I ask you all to participate and if I don't show up by a certain time of the morning, please feel free to start it, What Are you Eating today and I think it is important that we plan our day, best as possible and if there is going to be a big change we need to come back and write that in as well. I used to log my food daily, it kept me on top of things, I still do it, but not like I should and obviously I need to. The other aspect is, if I am letting you know what I am doing, I am more likely to do what I know I need to do. So dear Susan has tried it, Jeanne has tried, let's get down to what brought us here and practice what is known to keep us on track, for those of you newer, it is a practice in helping you go the distance.
I hope you all have a wonderful day, full of living and for any out there facing life challenges, I, as always, wish you peace and strength to get through it!
Hugs, Laureen

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

Thanks for reminding me of why I came to OH in the first place, Laureen. I am going to stick to my food plan for the day. I also started an exercise thread, which will at least hold me accountable.

I always learn something new from you, Laureen! I really appreciate your wisdom and insights into this journey. I'll try to join your daily log, but not today. Today is too busy. I may have to just post 3 or 4 times a day. I rarely plan out a full day's eating at one time. I'll just tell you this morning I had a scrambled egg, 1 slice of bacon, a very thin slice of gluten free toast, and a spoon of cheesy grits. Had a protein drink for lunch. More to come later this week.

Good morning all, it has been awhile since I checked in. It has been crazy here. I have been getting ready for a wls event I am having in Scottsbluff, NE. It will be on March 31st from 8-3. We will be having cooking class, motivation and education. If anyone is near the area, please come and learn.
Pat, kidney disease is such a pain to deal with. A friend of mine just had a transplant and is doing well. I hope you don't have to limit your fluids.
It is supposed to be 80 degrees this weekend. Yippee! I am so ready for spring. Have a great week. Mona

Hello Trish and all OFF family,
I haven't exercised since I returned from Austin. Need to get motivated now that I'm no longer in PT. Have lost 2 of the 3 pounds I gained on the trip. I know I could be losing more when I tighten up my eating routine. Thanks for reminding me about logging my food. That is when I was most successful.
Ellen still very ill. getting worse every day. I called the doctor to make an appointment and they called back and said it was viral and she needs to tough it out. She'll be in the hospital soon if it doesn't start getting better.
Speaking of Susan, I haven't seen her post for a while. I'm I just missing her postings? Is she alright?
Best run. Take care of you. Mag

Hello sweet sistas!
Just a very quick pop-in today. So busy! Hubby is still not feeling 100% but he's trying to move around and do a little today. We are having painters come out today and tomorrow to give us bids on painting over the wallpaper in the breakfast nook and kitchen; also painting all the outside doors and the front porch. First thing the painter who came this morning said was, "Why do you want to paint over such pretty wallpaper?" OMG. I don't want to paint over it all. It was the realtor who said it would show better if it was painted. Now I'm in a real quandry about what to do. Guess we'll wait and see how expensive it will be and then make up our minds. The outside painting is a must; the inside painting is optional.
I'm still working on cleaning out my craft/sewing/laundry room, but hope to fini**** today. That will be a big one to check off my to-do list!
Mag, praying for your sister to recover soon. I know she is lucky to have you there taking care of her. Trish, hope your health continues to improve. You have sure been through the wringer these past few months. Grammy, try to stop and smell the roses! You are always so busy. Still pea-green over you getting to go to the CMA's, you lucky duck! That's going to be fabulous! Hope things are going okay for your daughter.
I've got to get back to work. Love you all!
