Did the doc say heat?  Mine always says to ice.  I keep gel packs in the freezer for when my back or neck acts up.  Hope he gets better soon.

Linda,

Well, that's what he said.  I looked it up on-line and read that ice is helpful for the first 24 hours, but we're way past that now.  However, the on-line article also said that an anti-inflamatory, like ibuprofen, is very helpful.  So we started him on the Advil this morning, and he says it's better.  Now why didn't the doctor tell us that?  Or give him a Rx strength ibuprofen?  I don't know what I think about doctors these days.

Anyway, he can stand for me to rub it now.  Yesterday, I couldn't even touch his neck without causing him misery.  But today I can rub and massage it a little and it seems to be helping.  I just hope he starts getting better soon.  He's been miserable for 3 days now.

You know Vickie, I love cooking and baking, but the pleasure often comes from knowing that others enjoy the fruits of my labor and I love to share good food with people, however, it's always a challenge when I do something for the first time, but now I am two for two, Irish Soda Bread and the pie, nailed them on the first try, which is why I had to throw away what was left of the bread because that was something I would keep cutting off a small slice of, whereas, truthfully, sweets are something I can live without.  But I did have my own s/f chocolate pudding and I used a dollop of my whipped cream, which was the one thing I did not put sugar in. . .

Good Morning All,
I am one of the many lurkers here, but decided I needed to post for a change. It is so inspiring to read about each of your lives as you battle obstacles and celebrate triumps. You are an amazing bunch of women and have helped me in so many ways since my surgery. It is so uplifting to know I'm not the only who faces the same daily challenges. Prayers for all.

Howdy Sandra Kay!

Next time we go to our lakehouse on Canyon Lake, I'll have to give you a holler.  Maybe we can get together.  Glad to see you post again.  Quit lurking and jump right in!  I'm sure you have a lot to offer all of us OFFers!

Sandra,

You can lurk, but it's more fun to participate and feel a part of things.  I have formed some relationships that are very special as a result of OH and this board in particular and I know here I can speak of my challenges and be understood and get encouragement instead of judgment.

Hugs, Laureen

 Greetings Monica and OFF,
I am finally home, and resting my legs, after a chaotic morning of physical therapy, surgeon's appointment and shopping.  The physical therapy is for the back injury I got when I fell months ago.  The surgeon was from my hospitalization in January, and the shopping was at Joann's, for yarn or fabric.  Did not see any new fabric, so I got more yarn.

I am exhausted, and have a long evening ahead of me.  I hope I stay awake.

Prayers and blessings for all in need.

Hugs,
Trish
