SUNDAY WHAT's HAPPENING?????
Morning OFF family!!!
Had some rain overnight I see. Didn't hear it at all but see the puddles this morning when I went to open up the clubhouses.
Went to the VFW yesterday for the steak dinner, Bar Bingo and St Pat's party. Rick was lucky and won the jackpot!!!!!!! Had to split it with another winner but heck he still won $140.00!!! Made him happy!! Now he can get his truck decked out...LOL He wants to save for the chrome side bars (they go under the doors). Band was fantastic also!!! Didn't want to leave but knew we had to because we have to get up so early to open up. Steak was also good!!! YUMMM
Had a call on the answering machine from a tenant. She said someone stole her bedroom screen!! So we took a walk last night to look and se...yup it is missing. Now who would take her screen when they ALL have them??? Weird!
Making boiled dinner today. Sounds so good!! :-) I am using smoked ham hocks, carrots, potatoes and cabbage.
Today is the 5th year of my Spike getting attacked and killed. Still brings me to tears and I will never forget that awful day!!! Happy that I have Bandit but still....
Need to get washing done today because we are running out of undies!! OMG!!! LOL
That is about all for me. Have a great day!!
Thoughts and Prayers for all that need them!!!
HUGS
Sorry for all the negative things that are happening whether long term or short term.
I wish that people would come back and post. I miss hearing from them.
I'm starting to feel better. Stuff head resolving and sore throat is better. Still nasty lung congestion.
Have things to get done even if it is Sunday.
Hugs,
Mag
Hi Judy. I'll bet you are back, along with many others by the time I get this written and posted.
Took grandson to Walmart to get his usual needs. Deodorant, facial cleanser, gatoraide powder, toothpaste. He also wanted a roast for today's dinner and bought a key lime pie for dessert. We stopped at Little Ceasars on the way home for pizza. When we got home I had a slice, then one bite of my grandson's pie!!! WHY? I can beat back those old habits but they still fight their way back!
Yesterday I was 2 oz away from my next pound down!! I told my DH I was gonna make that weight if I had to cut off a limb! This morning no amputation was necessary. I made that next pound, I am 191!!! I can't believe I let myself gain back so much weight. That will NEVER happen again.
Last week I decided to put more music on my iPad. I like a very diverse mix. Everything from 1930, 1940's big band, Ink Spots, Rosemary Clooney, through oldie rock and roll from the 50's, and then country from Ernest Tubb to modern. Welllll, I could not find my David Allen Coe cd's. Couldn't find what I wanted on iTunes. Finally found it at Walmart.com. But had to order cd's since Walmart doesn't do online music anymore. They came yesterday, so I put those in my puter then my iPad so I can listen to it on my way to SC later this afternoon. I'm sure Blaine will LOVE listening to that!
I also found buttons for that other funky hat my daughter wanted. So I finished that. If it hadn't been for that slice I would have had a perfect day!!
Today, big roast beef dinner at 2, leave for SC at 3:30 so we can eat at Fatz before we have to drop Blaine at the Military Academy.
Oh, BTW. We have a son who hasn't spoken to us for 20 years, cause we spoiled his son. (That became a sin when he married his second wife.) We have never had any contact with his second son. My parents used to give us updates when they were still alive. Otherwise we would probably never have known he existed. I used to send him birthday cards but they were returned unopened. When we would see him at the older grandson's sports activities, it was like they purposfully turned him and sat him where he would be out of our sight. Because of the whole thing our son also alienated his 2 siblings (they all had some heated e-mails back and forth). I did ask permission to give him 85 shares of the Honeywell stock Momma left me. I got a cryptic e-mail from our son saying he and his wife had discussed it and decided I could. It would make a nice addition to his college fund. Never got a thank you or an acknowledgement that the stock had been successfully transferred till I asked in an e-mail. Our son's reply - yes! Guess who we got a graduation announcement from yesterday? It isn't Zach's fault his Dad is a dick, and I will send a card and a check, but! He is in our will even if his father isn't. Something our other 2 kids don't agree with us on. Maybe now he will reach out to us. It would be nice if he knew his cousins.
Enoughfor today. I need to hop in the shower and get a roast ready to go.
Everyone have a fantabulous day.
Caroline...I know how you feel about not seeing your "kids"...I lost out on my grands being born and growing up...now that they are teens it is awkward but we talk and getting to know each other. Being so far away makes it harder to see them. My heart goes out to you!!
Your music sounds about like mine...LOL
HUGS
Judy, it sounds like you had a great St. Patty's Day dinner. Caroline, I'm sorry your son kept his son from you. I would have died if that had happened to me.
Last night, I had a really good time at my friend's for dinner. Got to know some women from church better. We played Guesstures, and had a ton of fun.
Overslept this morning, so I didn't make it to church. I am still fighting this sinus thing.
My older son texted me last night. He fell, while riding his bike and broke his hand. He text sent me a pic and his whole forearm and left hand is all bandaged and splinted. My poor baby. I feel awful for him.
Anyway, today is resting up, and trying to tidy up my apartment.
Hope everyone has a blessed day.
Hugs,
Trish

I have 2 loads of laundry done and found out the washer that we THOUGHT was leaking isn't the one!!! So call to the repair man tomorrow morning again! Now to get the rest of the place spruced up...
Sorry about your sons hand!! OUCH!!!

Humid and sunny here now that the fog has burned off.
Spent yesterday bird watching in the morning and looking for plants for a refuge event in the afternoon. Also spent time looking for a place to store the RV for the summer closer to this refuge and not nearer the old refuge.
Grammylew - I'm struggling getting the last 40 pounds off. Now that my VSG has healed I can eat more easily although I still have restriction. My problem is the Easter candy and Mexican food. Water fitness is paying dividends but imagine if I was curbing some of my impluses as well.
Not much else new here. Planning to be lazy today. In the midst of cleaning the RV on the inside. Not sure if I'll ever get to the outside. Have a high school graduation present to finish by Easter. Also waiting to hear when the memorial for my friend will be scheduled so I can make arrangements to fit that in.
Positive thoughts for all of you in need.
