TGIF- What's Happening?
I am just waiting for the nurse to come change my dressing. After that, nothing special planned. I should do some cleaning around here, but I am tired. I am on another antibiotic for a sinus infection. Plus, the doc wants to order another CT scan in about a month. Says my facial fracture may be effecting my sinuses. Yippee!!!
Talk to you soon.
Hugs,
Trish

Been traveling the past couple of days, so I haven't had much opportunity to post.
Have to tell you all what a GREAT time Mag and I had in Austin yesterday! She is delightful and we talked for hours. We had lunch at an outdoor venue called Shady Grove in Austin, which had me a little worried since the forecast yesterday called for rain, but we were lucky and the rain never came. Got our waiter to take our picture. I posted it on FB and also here on my profile page. We look pretty good for being one year out!
Today I'm going to the big Outlet Mall in San Marcos to do some shopping for necessities. The really fun stuff like underwear and tennis shoes. LOL! I'm still holding off on buying "real" clothes again until I get another 15-20 pounds off. I did buy some new tops at the resale store in Waco. Also lucked out and found 3 pairs of capris IN SIZE LARGE (not XL!) at Burlington Coat factory that were less than $10 a pair. So I have a few new things for spring that will hold me until I can whittle my waistline down to a size 14.
I need to catch up with everyone and read posts from the past couple of days, but that will have to wait until I get back home, possibly tomorrow. Until then . . .
Love you all!
It is noon and only Vickie has posted .........come out, come out wherever you are........
Trish .....I hope the new antibiotic helps!!
Vickie....love the pic of you and Mag......now she needs to get a pic on OFF and Facebook. You both look great!!
I am going on a date tonight. We are going to a concert. It sounds like it will really be a great time!! Seeing the "Trembling Wilburys". A new generation has started the group up again.
I need to run and get some protein drinks and a couple of my RXs. I am not moving very fast today....relaxing for tonight!!
Wishing you all a really wonderful day!! Praying for so many in need.
Love and hugs to all.......connie d
Moving slow today. Back is hurting me something awful. I wanted to get out to the bank and do some shopping before work ... man, I hurt something awful. I'm feeling a little better after having my protein drink, so maybe I'll get in the shower and still get out a little early.
Getting used to my new crown yet ... it feels better than it did yesterday. At least food isn't getting trapped in there like it was with the temporary crown. My gums aren't all irritated.
I had a long phone chat yesterday with my cat rescue friend in Louisiana, Patricia ... I worry about her health ... she has MS and heart problems and no insurance. Yet she worries more about feeding her cats and the colonies that she cares for than she does for her own health. She is such a good person.
Trish, you have had such a tough year. I know my own troubles aren't nearly as bad.
Vickie, you are so busy and upbeat. ... Can you send me some energy?
Connie, I know you are happier back in St. Cloud. I can tell it from your posts, although you do miss Gracie.
Don't know where all the others are but hope they check in later. Have a good day.
Good Afternoon OFF-
It's the end of a busy week and I am looking forward to my weekend.
Spent the week fighting a sinus infection made worse by high pollen counts. Now taking my allergy pills twice a day. That seems to help.
Continuing with my water fitness classes and yoga. I am amazed at the progress I have made after two months of continuous exercise. I'm starting to see muscles and definition in areas that I haven't seen in a while.
My project for the refuge continues. Today I am pushing to complete filing and cataloging of the fire reports since 2005. I learn so much from this project. They use fire as a way to manage different units on the refuge for different birds and animals. Some units only burn well in the winter, others burn better in the summer. My office wall is filled with maps of the various units to help me translate reports into unit numbers, etc... It's a giant jigsaw puzzle.
Tonight I am going to dinner with the water fitness ladies. We're going to drive about 30 miles to a seafood restaurant on the Bolivar Peninsula. I am enjoying getting to know the local people in the area. I am seriously considering purchasing a small house here but financing the purchase is the issue.
So not much else is new at this end. We're supposed to have rain most of the weekend and when I went out to pick up the Refuge mail it was really chilly! I'm going to hunker down and stay warm through the weekend.

I have been busy!!!!! Got up this morning to go with my cousin to take her daughter to the urologist and they screwed up on the appointment. Said she missed the appnt. it was supposed to be on the 5th but we had a appnt letter for today. We drove over 30 miles for nothing. So it is rescheduled for Tuesday and I cant go cause I have my own stuff to do that day.
Went beach bumbing today. It is a prestine day for a beach day.......
well have a great night folks, nothing else going on here. Carla
Just thinking about how soon my surgery is. I wasn't thinking about it while basking in the sun on holiday, but now...... Starting to get nervous, a little scared, a little excited.....
Also thinking that perhaps by the next time I fly, I will actually fit properly in those awful seats! That's something I'm really looking forward to! Have a great weekend!

I'm happy to report things are moving along towards surgery. I've scheduled some of my pre-op testing, and I'm set up to attend my first nutrition class next week. Spent yesterday trying to find out what my insurance requires before authorizing WLS, because the bariatric coordinator working with my surgeon told me I would need a 6-mo. supervised diet! That was really discouraging, but then the coordinator called back this morning, and said she was mistaken. So, I'm back to feeling hopeful and excited about the future. The next thing on my list is to keep working on preparing myself mentally and emotionally for all the changes I'll be making.
Husband and teenager started Spring Break today. Actually, my son is a senior in H.S., and today was Skip Day, so he was home with me (not that I saw much of him, LOL!) I'm hoping our weather gets a little better over the next few days, because I sure have some honey-do's for my honey.

Guess that's about it from here. Yeah, I know, I lead a very boring life.

Hope you all are doing well, and will have a wonderful weekend.
