Good Morning OFFrs,

First off, I'd like to wish Marti a very happy birthday, sure hope it is as special a day as you are a person (I've had the pleasure of sitting down and talking to Marti)!

Work week is almost over for me, today and tomorrow, woo hoo. . .today is just that, a work day, nothing too much planned for today, think I will take a day off from meetings, allergies are kicking my butt the past few days, sore throat and feeling yuk, oh well, spring is in the air, YAY.  I am going to get off here and get ready for my work day, but I wanted to say hi and wish you all the very best day as well as wish those with more challenging situations peace and strength to see it through.

Have a great day, very often it's about choosing it and some days we have to keep hitting the restart button. . .

Hugs, Laureen

Ah yes,  thank goodness for the restart button. I have made some very minor changes in food intake and over the past couple of weeks have lost almost 3 lbs. My "Tool" does still work when I work it like it should be worked. I still eat between meals but I have been concentrating on a small snack of protein. When I make my protein loaded zucchini quiche on the weekend I use a small square of that as a snack. It seems to be working. I broke one of those 10 lb barriers and am now 3 lbs below it. Kind of a head thing , but it helps to see that small  10 lb marker!

Good mornin' ya'll.
My new 'tool' this stinkin' VGS (sleeve) is still not doing anything for me. I can eat an entire steak dinner with salad and a dessert and it all goes down. I am stuck with will power, which has been working very well lately. This morning I cleaned out closets. Got out all the stuff I can fit into again. Got out all my choices to take to the CMAs, and boxed up the big stuff I never want to see again!
BTW, any ideas on what I can have my pedi gal put on my toes for my trip to the CMAs?
Yesterday I did two things I hate! I weeded my garden and sent off the check for our wind and hail insurance. Yikers! It only went up $30 this year, though. Now my thighs are so sore from all that squatting, and my savings account is sore from the hit it took!!
Today the termite guy comes for our yearly inspection, then I take him to our son's house for his inspection. Then the housekeepper comes.
After that I am going to mail some of the stuff I bought for our soon to arrive great grandson. If I wait to mail it all at once it will be overwhelming! She keeps sending ultrasound pictures. Yesterday she sent 3-D pictures. Very neat!!
I am also going to Best Buy and have them put a new screen protector on my iPad 2. I always get dust under it, bubbles in it, and scratches on it!
Gotta get my butt in gear so I will be dressed when the termite guy gets here!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

You sure do have a busy day ahead. . .  how about a guitar?  or a starburst like design?

morning!
happy birthday marti!!!

i am sposed to go thrift store shopping with my "daughter" (my eldest grands' mom) and have a bunch of stupid errands to run..have been looking fwd to it all week but now i am crashing-have been up for about two hours and feel good but suddenly i hear my bed calling...i think it's the rain!

my food issues are due to my chemo-yea that's a good excuse! --i am craving a lot of diff foods and most are carb laden...and i am finding that NOTHING(none of the tried and true tricks we are taugh****er/protein/exercise etc ) will stave off the craving until i give in-- it doesn't help that i get steroids in my chemo drips as well as 3 days worth after each treatment.... so i am plugging along and TRYING to behave!

had a good thing happen yesterday-if i wrote about this already i apologize for repeating and will come back and delete-
i applied for a job where my daughter works-a financial planning place- and they called yesterday to check on my availability-the gal who interviewed me by phone a few weeks' ago knows about the cancer but yesterday's gal doesn't-(just something medical) anyhow i had to report that i am still not available mon and tues every other week so she encouraged-rather stressed- that when my schedule changes to get back to them ASAP cuz they really want to get me onboard..that made me feel good -viable!!!! they want me due to work experience and credentials- not necuz of my daughter whom they all love! that makes me feel even better! am hoping i can get in and get trained on a job before i start radiation cuz i hear rads really wipe you out-i can have my rads after work each evening(will be 6-8 weeks 5 days a week) . we'll see how this all works but i really need to get a paycheck coming again and feel useful! and a reason to leave the house...i love being at home but am going nuts in this dinky apt!!!!! no yard to putter ,no porch to sit on, no place to craft, no money...no alone time....(ouch! somebody just smacked me!!!)

ok-done whining!

i'm on allergy pills due to my neulasta shot so i haven't really had any issues with the seasonal stuff-YET! but i feel for ya laureen!!!!

well- i had better kick self in gear and do something about getting out the door!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Good morning Laureen and everyone.....

I hope Marti and Karen C. both had good birthdays!!

Laureen....sorry the allergies are getting to you....hope you feel better soon.

Margo....praying all works out well for you with the upcoming job. I am always praying your treatments go well too.

Carolyn....you tire me out reading all the things you do in a day!!!

Anyone hear anything from Nan H. lately??

I am feeling kind of run down  today. Not planning on doing much. Hope I haven't caught a bug.

I went to my friends birthday party last night. It was fun!  I was good and didn't drink or eat things I shouldn't have.

I am going to go lay down now and hope I feel better when I get up!!

Wishing you all  a great day.  Praying for those in need.

Love and hugs to all.....connie d

Hi Connie, I am sorry I don't post much. Mst of the time I do ok. Sometimes my eyes make everything blurry & I can't focus. Chemo is going ok. Much better then the last stuff I was on. Morgan is headed to NY on April 9th. I was told I can take a week off Chemo to go too. I hope to go after my next Cat Scan. They should be there for about 6 weeks so hopefully it will be warm when I go.
We lost power for 2 1/2 days during our snowstorm last week.I lived under down comforter! Marc bought a generator & the power came on 2 min. later.
I hope your new living arrangements are working for you. You sound a lot better. Two women in a house almosts never works. And it being your daughter, that makes it even harder. Does Jamie always make you feel like you are critzing her. My sure can. Have a great
painfree day!!!!! Nan

Hello Nan....so happy to hear from you.

I am glad that chemo is going better for you. I think about you all the time and Morgan too! It is wonderful that you will be able to go to NY while Morgan is there. Keeping you both in my daily prayers. Hug Morgan for me.....she can hug you for me too!

My daughter is not critical of me......there were other issues. One of these days I need to explain it all. Things are getting better between us again.

I like living with my sister and she really wants me here so it is working out great for both of us. One day I hope to have my own place again but for now this works fine. I am just so happy to be back in Minnesota!

Thank you so much for getting back to me. I was missing you!!

Lots of love and many hugs.......connie d

 Hi Laureen and OFF Sistahs,
I am late in posting because I overslept this morning and had to rush out the door to see my ENT doc.  I have another sinus infection.  He wants me to take an antibiotic for 14 days and then see me one week later to see what happens.  Then he wants another CT scan, because the last one I had was before I fell and broke my nose.  He said that sometimes facial fractures could effect sinuses.  Yippee!  But, he concurred with what I heard on the TODAY show this morning.  The trees are pollinating way early this season, and the grasses too, due to the warm winter we had.  Since I have year round allergies, indoor and outdoor, it just makes me sick all the time.

I plan to take Utley down to the river in about an hour.  It is too beautiful to stay indoors today.  I have my windows open and the ceiling fan on to air out the house.

Tonight, I have my Bible study at church.

Hope everyone has a blessed day.

Hugs,
Trish

First off , can you tell me what OFF stands for ..... I could guess .... " over 50 friends?" or ??

Im on holiday in Arizona ( which makes me VERY happy)!  We have a house here and getting away from northern Alberta, Canada in the winter is a treat.  It's snowing there today, so I'll be shoveling white stuff when I return.  Winter can be sooooo long there sometimes.

Im glad I got away this month, as my surgery is coming up on March 20.  I have had some time to think and plan and even buy a few things you can only get in the USA.  I'll have about 4 weeks off work, and hopefully will get back after that.  I'm a nurse in a small rural hospital and I love my work.  I'll even love it more when I've lost some of this excess weight!

I'm enjoying this forum and all the support and friendship I detect here.  For today, catch a little Arizona sunshine, read a little, perhaps forced to go to a hockey game (with hubby), and start packing up for the return trip......take care all!
