Tuesday - What's Up with You Today?
Good Morning OFFr Friends
Just wanted to say hi and stay plugged in a bit, as I lurk more than I post these days and on busy weekends I don't even poke my nose in. However, you are all so important to me and I miss many of the other "oldtimers" who are also less inclined to post these days, maybe I'll get lucky and one or two will post to this. . . let us know how life is treating you. . .
Life is good for me today, I'm at work already due to a 2-day hearing that began yesterday, so I'm up since 4:30, my body, I think, is already transisitioning to the new time that it will be hit with come this weekend, longer days means, hopefully, more energy for me, as lately my energy level has not been as great, think the Lipitor might have something to do with it, I've kind of been hoping that the aches and pains I'm experiencing and the tiredness was not related, but as each day goes by I am more convinced of those being side effects, to which I cannot abide, so pending bloodwork that I will do this upcoming week, I will probably be asking to be put on another cholesterol lowering drug that hopefully has less side effects. . . I have no time for aches and pains (lol). . . makes me very unmotivated to get my butt in the gym when getting out of bed is painful, it subsides a bit through the day, oh and getting up to go to the bathroom too many times during the night, that is not acceptable either, as it seems going back to sleep is becoming an issue. . . anyway, sorry to go on and on about my aches and pains, truthfully, as I started this paragraph, my life is GOOD today, even with those things I am bellyaching about (lol).
Today has me at work, after work going to celebrate a sponsee's 1st year sober at her halfway house, got her a really nice coin, every day sober is a blessing, but to string them together and make a full year, well that is just awesome! Afterwards it will be home and to bed, as I woke up so early.
Wishing you all the very best day possible, peace and strength for the life challenges many are facing!!!
Hugs, Laureen

Good morning laureen, and everyone to come,
It is almost coffee time!!!!! I meet my cousin at starbucks at nine almost every morning.
Then Carl and I are going to go and shoot some pictures with our new camera. We got a new point and shoot camera. A Nikon 16 megapixel camera with a 14 zoom. It takes awesome pictures.
Next week is spring break and I am thinking of taking my 5 year old little cousin to chicago for a few days. We will be driving. I am missing my daughter and I need a haircut so the trip will be worth it.
I was very productive yesterday. I got both of my cars cleaned out!!!!! They look brand new!!!!!

Good mornin' ya'll.
Laureen, we all have those days we need to grump a little! Since I have finally found the perfect number for my sleep number bed, I don't wake up all bent over anymore.
Carla, I am so jealous of people who can take good photographs. Mine always look shakey, or there is something foolish in the background that I didn't notice. Both my DIL and my ex-DIL take wonderful, professional looking pictures.
Today another day of staying home, crochetting, and not much else! Last week our DIL brought over some banana pudding dessert she had made. Today she brought over 2 key lime cupcakes she bought at their bake sale. I am soooo trying to get my weight down before the CMAs! The pudding, I took one bite and threw the rest away. I'm afraid the cupcakes are going the same place.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Good morning.
I am with my son who drove 5 hours to appear in civil court just to find out the case has a continuance. We are at Burger King having some coffee.
I am supposed to see my hematologist later this afternoon. Then tonight there is a support group for recovering women at my church.
Hope everyone has a blessed day.

Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers are here too.

Aloha Laureen and all of the OFF family....
You have inspired me to check in, Laureen. I miss so many of you, too, but stop in often to see how everyone is doing. This is a group of STRONG, creative, intelligent women (and a few men.) This is like a powerful therapy group....and family...all in one!
Life here on Maui is mostly peaceful and serene. Sometimes I forget to be thankful for living in this place, and let life's challenges get the best of me. As for many of you money worries surface frequently. Hawaii is a very expensive place to live!! Our gasoline prices haven't been below $4.50 for several years...and soon I'm sure will be over $5.00 easily.
I still work at the hospital screening newborn's hearing. This IS a life-affirming job, and I feel so blessed to see new life every day. I try not to think about the babies being born to 14 year olds, or to homeless people, or the 7th baby from a family in poverty. This is life, but sure try to send a little message of hope for a good life for each baby I am honored to meet. Mostly I LOVE it when a new baby has a mother AND a father, and especially when the daddy is a HUGE Hawaiian man who holds his tiny daughter in his arms and looks so sweet and charmed by his little bundle of joy. Love that!!
This week busy with doc appointments, car check, birthday parties, etc. etc. My weight stays pretty much down these days, and I consider myself very lucky to be staying at goal for well over five years now.
Good luck, good life, happy moments, and LOVE to all of you.
