Don't we all.

That's the basis of television.  Entertain me!  Don't make me entertain myself -- that's too hard.

Sorry folks.  At some point (whether it's a number on the scale or a size you never thought you'd have to buy...), you need to realize it's not appropriate to entertain yourself with food.  Wrong tool for the job.

Talk a walk and see what the changes have happened in the world around you.

Call up a friend and see if they have any funny stories to share.

Eeekkk!  Even surfing the web is better than watching TV from a weight management perspective  (it's very hard to eat and type at the same time .... plus you get Cheeto dust on the keyboard -- gross!)

Mindlessly using food to entertain yourself is not going to help you feel better about your world.

Judy, just for you!

Let me entertain you,

Let me make you smile.

Let me do a few tricks,

Some old and then some new tricks,

I'm very versatile . . .

And if you're real good,

I'll make you feel good,

I'll make it worth your while . . .

So let me entertain you,

And we'll have a real good time, yes sir.

We'll have a real good time!

Ooooh, I am so guilty of this one!  But I also COOK to entertain myself.  And then I eat the results!

I find I have to go get in the hot tub and read to avoid the kitchen.  You can't just hop in and out of the hot tub very easily when you want a snack, and you sure can't hold both a snack and a book in the hot tub at the same time!  LOL!

Vic,
I think we are related!
I go into my hot tub with my protein coffee in the AM and a good book.

I've never been a great cook so I never did the cooking to entertain myself.
Now hubby on the other hand when he is bored...and that's usually when I'm working 3-11 shift he will make homemade cookies. Ugh! And he is a great baker/cook. When I'm overwhelmed with wonderful cookies in my kitchen (and it's really hubby's kitchen, he does most of the cooking) I will take said cookies to work to get them out of my house or drop them over to my grandchildren. I can stay away from ice cream but not cookies! They are my downfall.
I'm proud of myself this year I didn't order one box of girl scout cookies! Score one for me! LOL

Oh, DebbieJean, I love cookies.  I felt like such a meanie, passing up all those little girls selling girl scout cookies at the entrances to the stores this year.  My nieces sell them, too.  I did give my nieces the money I usually would have spent to buy some of their cookies as a donation.  Not sure they completely understood why Aunt Vickie gave them money and didn't take any cookies.  LOL!.

But I can't eat just one.  I have NO self-control when it comes to sweets.  I just have to stay away from them.  People tell me all the time, "just one won't hurt you", but that's not true in my case.  One bite makes me want the whole package!

Gotta love that hot tub!  It keeps me out of trouble.  :)
