My doctor cut my protein down too.  He kept telling me that after the first few months, that protein pushes our calories up to hard calories.  I have never, ever stalled.

hello!
my schedule has been wonky since i started chemo and my sleep keeps getting interrupted by my roxie girl..at 1:30 this morning we were outside walking- i was NOT a happy camper about this. but she is getting older..and i am thinking that i really need to be picking up her bowls at nite- michael had taken her out at about 10:30 so i don't know what is up.

what hair i have left on top of my head is hanging on for dear life! i need to get practicing with scarves- i do have a wig taht i got from a wonderful non profit - and it looks ok i guess but cumbersome for everyday around the house.

i have a carepages that i need to update--
i am finding that i just have no get up and go-even with the steroids that i get for 3 days following each treatment!

today, my eldest granddaughter is coming over after school for a bit so i need to hit the shower- and tomorrow i have a lunch date with my son during his work lunch hour...

i need to check with vitalady about vitD...the oncologist did run blood work on me - not a full set like we are sposed to have but better than nothing- my sodium and porassium were actually high and my iron was good! he was so sure that it would be down...but i don't see any evidence of testing for vitD....

being the beginning of the month it's time to pay rent etc..my landlady does not accept checks so i have to run to the bank-nuisance! and i hate this apt....i want to hang pictures but i am hesitant to make it "permanent"...ah well....

ok- done whining....

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

Not much happening ... we had some tornados here early yesterday morning. Of course, I slept through them. They were pretty bad in a couple of places west of us, in Illinois. Nothing right here, just a lot of wind and rain. I slept through it all ... get enough of the right drugs in me and I'll sleep through anything.

I did get laundry done yesterday, called an ortho doc about my knees and an optometrist so I can get some glasses that the lenses doesn't pop out on, so I didn't waste the whole day. I would like to get out today. It's a nice day, not as warm as yesterday (it was nearly 70).

Have a good day.

Hello again. I have found another item that actually works like the As Seen On TV ad says. The cake pop pan. The cake pops come out with a little ridge around the middle where the pans meet. But that comes right off with a knife. I made 36 of them for my DIL's bake sale tomorrow. They are now in the freezer. When they get hard I will put little bags on them.
A few days ago, we got an automatic call from our credit union saying they thought there had been some suspect activity on my debit card. The computer voice asked if the three charges it read off were actually ones we had made. The last one was not. Then they said they would transfer me to the fraud division and I got cut off!! Sooooo, I called the fraud number on the web site. It seems someone had tried to use my debit card at the Regency Isle Casino in Alabama. It didn't go through because there wasn't enough money in there. That raised a red flag. So they looked at other charges on my account and there was one for $850 from a company in Stockholm, Sweden. That one DID go through! That is when the computer called me. Sooooo, I faxed in a fraud claim form and now I am waiting for another debit card. This morning the money is back in my checking account. All but $50, which I am on the hook for, since it is a debit card. I check my account every morning so I would have caught the $850. This happened to us once when we lived in OR. It is a pain!
Gotta go. Talapia for my late lunch!

Oh, Caroline, that's just awful.  How on earth did they get your debit card number?  I hate a thief!  I wish they could be caught and put in jail where they belong.

I'm interested in the cake pops.  The only recipe I've seen for them is where you bake the cake, crumble it up in a bowl and mix with with frosting, and then mold the little pops from that mixture.  Is that what you did?  Sounds like you baked them instead.  That sounds better to me for little kids.  Are you going to ice them?  Deets, girlfriend!

Vickie. I have tried the ones where you bake the cake, crumble it up and add frosting and form into a ball. Messy and inconsistant.
My DIL bought the cake pop pan at Walmart. It suggests using a cake mix BUT to make some changes. Add an extra egg, use milk instead of water and only use half the amount, and add a box of instant pudding mix (vanilla for vanilla cake, choc for a choc cake). I used those suggestions. Instructions say to put mix in the bottom pan, put the top pan on and use the little clips provided to hold them together. Bake. If the bottom is too full a little cake oozes out of the top pan. Just peel it off when pan is cool and before you take the pans apart. When you take the top pan off there will be a little bump on top of each cake ball. Pick that off, it makes it easier to get the stick in. When the balls are cool (I put them in the freezer for 10 min), use a knife to smooth off the ridge around the middle. Just follow the directions for putting sticks in and dipping in melted chocolate. While the choc is soft put on sprinkles. Or let the choc harden in the fridge and get those little edible markers and kids can decorate them the way they want. I stand the pops in a piece of styrofoam to keep the choc smooth. One cake mix makes 36 pops. When the choc is completely hard, put each pop in a little plastic bag and tie. You can get those things at any place that sells cake decorating stuff. Even Walmart.
My cousin says if you put the pans together with the clip and then, using a squeeze bottle, put the batter in through the hole in the top you won't get the ridge. BUT, I'm not sure how you would see if you are over filling the cups.
Anyway. These would be good for kids to help with. Especially decorating the white choc with those edible markers.

I refuse to use a debit card. Bank insist on  issuing an ATM/debit card so I just shred it as soon as i get it

That is a really good thing to do. It never crossed my mind that someone would get my debt card number. Thanks everyone for the info.   Mag
