Wacky Wednesday What's Up?

Good Morning OFF Family,
I stayed up late to watch "The Help" on my On Demand cable pay-per-view.  I had not seen it yet, and had promised myself I would.  Loved it.

Today, the nurse will be here to change the dressing on the wound.  I also hope to get to an AA meeting.  Then, in the afternoon, I have my mammogram.  It was originally scheduled for the first time I was in the hospital, but I decided to wait till I was almost done with my wound care.  I have had some  mammograms that required a second look, and have even needed a breast MRI.  All I had were benign cysts.  I am hoping I don't need any second films, or further tests.

I hope everyone has a blessed day.

Hugs,
Trish

Good Morning Trish and OFF-

Haven't been on here in a while.  Have had some Internet connection problems and just been plain busy.  This being healthy is a grind sometime.  Yoga two mornings a week.  Chiropractor three mornings a week (he's straightening my spine).  Plus my volunteer job.

Thank you Vicki for texting to see if I was alive and well.  That meant a lot to me.

Spent the weekend laying low.  Allergy season kicked in with a vengeance last week.  I was ordering a cup of coffee at Sonic, got a mouth full of pollen and couldn't place my order.  By Saturday morning woke up with a snotty head and scratchy throat.  Most of Saturday I slept and spent a large part of Sunday dozing.  Also learned another life lesson.  When feeling puny I revert to comfort foods even though I can't taste them.  The garbage that went into my mouth was not pleasant.  Crawled back on the wagon yesterday.

Monday I had to drive into Houston to see a dermatologist.  That was fun.  Try parking your car with car top carrier in a parking garage with a 6 foot height restriction.  Management to get out of that garage without a mishap and into a garage with a 7 foot restriction.  Was able to park the car and get out of there without losing the carrier.  It's a little skinned up but I've learned my lesson, read the damn signs Cindi!

This week I hope to be able to participate in banding of ducks.  The refuge is hosting some researchers from U of Georgia who are studying transmission of diseases from S. America by migratory birds.  Should be interesting to participate and see how it's done.  If nothing else I can chalk it up on the life list of things I've done.  Transported a sick Red Tailed Hawk last week to a veterinarian.   What a magnificent bird.  He should make it.

I realized yesterday that I have about 2 months to go before I leave and return to Maine for the summer.  So panic has set in.  My project is not finished.  Have to do some sizing of what is left and get some priorities from the leaders.

Well that's all from me.  Hope everyone is doing as well as can be expected.  Continue to keep you all in my thoughts!

Good mornin', ya'll.
Trish, I am so glad your leg is on the mend.
Cindi, you sound like your life is busy.
I have a blueberry coffee cake in the oven. My aunt and uncle will be here in about an hour. They are driving up from Myrtle Beach on their way home to NY. I will have them take the left over coffee cake with them.
Found some yoplait lactose free yogurt. But it has 170 calories. Not worth it!
I started a new pink and white afghan. Just to have in my back up tote.
Did I tell you our great grandbaby is gonna be a boy? Our grandson is going in the Navy. Wants to be done with boot camp before the birth. As soon as she can get covered on his health insurance they will get married.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Good morning Trish and my OFF sistas!

So, yesterday I had my one year checkup with Dr. Garth in Houston.  The good news is that I have lost a full 95 pounds on his scale.  Hooray!  But the even better news is that my bloodwork was, in his words, "fantastic"!

I had this surgery so that I would be healthy again and I've done it!  Dr. Garth said my numbers on cholesterol, LDL and trigylcerides were actually better than his own.  He even told me I could cut back on my vit B12 now.

I told him I wanted to lose another 20 pounds, and he said he thought that was doable IF I exercise daily.  I told him I had joined Curves, and he said that was a very good program.  Recommended that I do Curves 3 days a week and walk 3 days a week.  Okay then.  C'mon, Vickie!  Do you want to be a size 14 or not?  If you do, you're gonna have to work for it!

(That was a personal little pep talk to myself.)

I did make a start on buying some new clothes for spring/summer.  I bought 2 pair of capri pants.  I had to buy the size 16's, but that's okay for now.  I won't buy anymore until I see if I can get down to a size 14.  I did buy 2 new tops and I was very happy to buy size Large instead of XLarge.

Well, I need to get moving.  Going to Curves every morning is going to require some adjustments in my usual morning schedule.

Love you all!

Good morning Trish and everyone....

Trish...glad you finally saw "The Help".....really good wasn't it!!
You sound a little better every day.....YAY!!!

Cindi....nice to see your post this morning. You sure do have a busy life!! Hope you come back sooner the next time!!

Carolyn....I am so happy that things are going well for your grandson and your soon to be DIL and great-grandson.  Going in the Navy was a good choice for him. He will be glad he did.

Marti...loved your story about the guy waiting for God to save him.

Judy...the happiness just radiates off of you. Glad you and Rich took that job. Very sad about the school shooting. We need to get this world changed around. It gets worse every day!!

We are snowed in ....can't get out of the driveway or on to the street. We got about 12" of snow and 2-3 more to come. Guess I will stay busy at home today!! We live in a Condo and it is on a circle drive. The plows won't get to us until much later.

I am still fighting this head cold. I do feel better then yesterday so that is a plus.

Praying for so many in need. Missing quite a few of you too!!

Wishing you all a wonderful day!!

Love and hugs to all.......connie d

Busy morning here, it's the end of the month and I have to invoice!

I am so excited, I finally weigh less than 200 pounds.. haven't seen that in 20+ years!  I'm 7 weeks post-op today, so that means I have lost 29 pounds in those 7 weeks, hurray for me.

The weather is extremely warm for this time of year, going to be amost 80 tomorrow.

My brother just called and he is running for Bd of Education for his county and needs a secretary, so I volunteered, not sure what I am getting in, but, hey what are sisters for?

I hope all of you have a blessed day.  I've added my OFF friends to my prayer list.

Linda--hooray for you!  Welcome to One-derland!  It's a great feeling, isn't it?  Let's make a vow to stay under 200 for the rest of our lives.
