TGIF- What's Happening?

 Good Morning Everyone,
I am just sitting here, waiting for the nurse to arrive.  She usually arrives around 9:00, unless I hear otherwise.

At lunchtime, I am taking a friend for a cortisone shot.  She insists on getting put to sleep for it, so I am driving her.  The rest of the day will be shopping for refreshments for my Thirty-One party tomorrow, and tidying up.

Hope everyone has a blessed day.

Hugs,
Trish

Good mornin, ya'll.

Yesterday I took the grandson to get a subwoofer for some speakers he had. That was at Best Buy. They didn't have exactly what he wanted but he was sure he could make another one work. Home and nope. Maybe with another accessory from Radio Shack, so off we went. Nope, the guy says no way to make it work. OK, stopped at Walmart and they had what he had originally wanted. So today, a trip to Best Buy to return the first woofer! I would let him drive himself, but he doesn't know the way and he needs more practice paying attention to the Tom Tom as he drives.

Then he has GOT to help me find my box of 2004 files to find a broker file showing what we paid for a stock we sold this year. I need it for my taxes. The he has GOT to go through the mess in his room so I can wash his clothes and he can get organized for his trip back tomorrow.

My DH and I have made our list for Costco and I need to get out a couple of ice chests for cold stuff we buy.

Talked to my Sis this morning and she sounds great. Sometimes when I talk to her she is in her depressive mode and she cries a lot. It makes me wish I could be there to give her a big hug. But today she was in a fine mood, which makes me feel better.

I'm still trying to catch up on all my DVR'd shows from when I was in Oregon.

Everyone have a fantabulous Friday!

Good morning ya'll,

Just came back from getting blood drawn for a hemoglobin, CBC, ferritin and some other anemia-related blood test.  Lucky to find there is a Quest Diagnostics a couple of blocks from school.  In and out in 30 minutes.   Hope I don't have to keep taking heavy doses of iron; they're destroying my pouch.

Found an interesting gig.  Actually, it sort of fell into my lap.  A lady I had tutored before is now seeking the ESOL certification and wants me to 'help' her write her assignments.  Told her I will edit what she writes, but will not write them for her.  Let's see how that goes.

Have a great weekend!

Ditto on the iron issues.  I ended up needing infusions and actually prefered them.  It has been a year and a half and my ferritin and iron levels are still good.  If it falters I'll get one infusion and be done.  does not cause any pouch or constipation issues.

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

Where is everyone? It's 12:30 p.m. and only two other posts?

It's payday and I was going to get up, but I didn't sleep well ... kept waking up and my back hurt and then I couldn't get back to sleep. Finally just got up and read for awhile ... I'm reading "The Princes in the Tower" about Edward IV's two sons who were killed ... the book is about who allegedly killed them. So anyway, I didn't get out and temp dropped to 41 today. So just chilling here. I'll hit the bank before I leave this afternoon for work.

Not much else happening ... just drinking some coffee and relaxing before I get in the shower. Have a good day.

I thought it was the future Richard III to get them out of the line of succession, and so did all the Beefeater tour guides at the Tower of London when I last visited.  Is there a new conspiracy theory floating around?

My payday was yesterday and after paying the bills, it's back to pauperville.   Happy payday to you, and may your money last longer than mine.

Ciao,

Maria

Not a new conspiracy theory ...  the author (Alison Weir) blames Richard, too. But she goes through all the evidence meticulously. I have read other books that blame the Duke of Buckingham, Henry Tudor, etc. There are a lot of theories out there.

My paycheck will be gone quickly, too.

Hello Trish and my OFF sistas!

It's a very Blustery Day here in East Texas.  As Pooh would say!  I took the trash out to the road this morning and nearly froze to death.  I had to come back and get in the hot tub to warm up.  Ever since I lost all this weight, I take a chill so easily.

Eileen, I meant to respond the other day about the ProJo's.  I think they are very good.  I try to drink one every day, just to be sure I get all my protein in.  For just 120 calories, I think they are an excellent nutritional value.  I also like the Quest Bars you recommended.  Very good.

Well, I posted this on FB, but I am so aggravated at my John Deere tractor!  This is a new lawn tractor that Butch bought for me just a year ago.  The darn belt that pulls the mower jumps off the track so easily, and I can't put it back by myself.  So of course, I was mowing yesterday when I ran over a dead branch and it lodged up against that belt just right and bam!  It jumped off the track.  That's the end of mowing for me until Butch gets home again.

This new John Deere was supposed to make my life easier, not harder!

I am having problems with snacking at night.  I do great all day long sticking to my diet plan and eating sensible healthy things.  Then nighttime comes and it's like I abandon all common sense.  WHY do I feel so compelled to eat at night?  I fix a good supper for myself around 6 p.m. and I'm full.  But then I start craving something sweet and I spend the whole evening hanging out in front of the frig and the pantry in search of chocolate (which I don't have in the house) or cookies (again, none in the house) or ice cream (nope, nada).  It's crazy.  I'm crazy.  What is this hold that sweets have on me?

So I eat things like little boxes of raisins or dried prunes or peanut butter.  Better than ice cream, cookies and chocolate, I guess, but still I don't NEED to be eating them.  Why do I do it?

Well, not much else going on here today.  I'm still working on cleaning out my walk-in pantry.  One shelf at a time , . .

Love you all!

I do the same thing, Vickie, especially on the days I'm off. I eat in bed ... not good ... never did this until I had my knee surgery. Not sweets, just protein bars. But ... still, can't stand it.

Hi Vic,

You mow the lawn!?!?  And a tractor was supposed to make your life easier?  How about a gardener?

I crave all forms of processed carbs.  In the evenings the cravings are so strong I can barely stand it, so I have a cup of hot milk, a melatonin and a valerian pill, and a couple of benadryls, and I'm off to dreamland.  Hope these things are not addictive.

Have a great weekend and don't work too hard.
