Happy Sunday, Everyone
I had a bit of a surprise returning to work Saturday night: I got to do the designing and editing of the front page of the Henderson, Ky., paper (they recently joined our copy desk in Evansville) ... finished early to boot. Enjoyed being able to design and edit again ... don't get to do that much here.
I battled a headache all night ... it would come and go, come and go. I think it's a sinus headache. My nose was dripping and my eyes were watery all night. It's kind of gone now but my eyes are itchy. I felt miserable most of the night. But I got through. Either it's sinus, dehydration (from the poop-a-thon) or being off my iron for nearly a week (because of the colonoscopy. I'm hoping it's just a sinus issue and it will go away quickly.
I'm tired and should head to bed. I'll check back later this morning when I get up. Have a good Sunday.
Morning Eileen and OFF family to follow!!!
Eileen!!!! CONGRATS!!!!!!!!! Guess they have faith in you to do your job and doing a good job of it also!!!! Sorrythat you are having such rotten lck wiht your health! Hope you feel better today!!
Sun is out here and it is chilly!!! 25* BRRRR Looks so nic out there but I get cold so easy. Want warm weather to come soon as possible!!
Watching Marie Anntoinette on tv. Pretty good movie.
Made Beef Stew for supper last night and it was so good we ate almost all of it for a change...lol Now to figure out what to have for todays supper. Thinking Sauerkraut and keilbassa. Hmmm. Yeah that sounds really good. Different.
Nothing planned today except relax for a change of pace. Hope today is QUIET so we CAN relax!!
Watched the BUDWEISER SHOOTOUT last night and man what an exciting race they had!!! Looking forward to a better racing seaon than past few years have been!!! Especially last years!!! Not a fan of Gordon but glad he wasn't hurt! As for Kyle winning...really do NOT care for him at all but that guy can drive and save a car for sure!!!
Guess I will go back to watching that movie now. Thoughts and Prayers for all that need them!!
HUGS
I am so happy for you being able to use your talents at this job. That is awesome. Hope you feel better soon with the sinuses. I take AllegraD religiously for my chronic sinus issues. You have to go to the pharmacy to get it, and show your drivers license, because of the decongestant.
Today has me doing a little more tidying. I took Utley for a walk yesterday, and then mopped the kitchen floor, which is huge. I also watched most of Whitney Houston's funeral. It was good to hear the gospel shared throughout it.
I hope everyone has a blessed day.
Hugs,
Trish

I'm BAAAAAAAACK! Sausage gravy, bacon, hash browns, waffle mix ready, strawberries macerating, oven preheated for biscuits, tomatoes sliced, plenty of eggs for however anyone wants them. Now all I need is people! Come join us for breakfast! I weighed myself this morning and I am back to the weight I was when I left Judi's, so I will be having my tea!
Eileen, I am sooo happy you are getting a chance to do more of what you really enjoy. I hope the headache is gone by now. I use the netti pot for sinus headaches and it clears everything out. Of course, now I am sure the pot is cleaned well, and I boil and cool the water first, after seeing the news about bacteria getting up in there!
Went and got Blaine from his military academy for his winter break. He will be here til Thursday, but he is negotiating with his Mom to try to stay til next Sunday. He says there is no reason to go back for just one day of classes. I can understand that! He drove most of the way home. He is a good driver and is used to driving around the Portland area where he knows all the speed limits, etc. I thought it would be good for him to experience having to watch for road signs, exits, entrances that he isn't familiar with. I had to remind him a couple of times when he didn't see the 'reduced speed ahead' signs. He may need to know these things if he has to drive to whatever college he plans on going to. After we got home and he ate a bunch of junk, he went in to take a nap so he could stay up all night long and play his video games.
A few days ago one of my cousins posted an adorable little baby bunting and hat thing looking like the hungry caterpillar in the kids book. She wanted to know if any of her friends had the pattern or could give her ideas how to learn to make it. Too expensive to buy on Esty. Too expensive to buy the pattern that didn't really look as cute as the one she saw. Lots of her crochetting friends answered saying things like, "I would charge $20 if I supplied the yarn, or $10 if you supplied it". Or " I might be able to figure it out and write out instructions". Or, "you might be able to find a pattern for free on such and such site". For crying out loud!! It looks very simple! I told her to give me a week and I'd make it and send it to her, no charge. What is wrong with people! Isn't this what we do for friends and family?
I am very happy to be home, even though I am back to cleaning up after my DH. He says "I was gonna get to that"! Sorry, I like the greasy mess cleaned up right after it is made, and if you want cheerios, don't fill the bowl so full cheerios go everywhere when you add milk, then you walk on them taking your sloshing bowl into the other room!! It was so nice in OR with just my daughter, granddaughter and I. No messes of someone elses to clean up!
Everyone have a fantabulous Sunday!
Everyone sounds so upbeat this am! I sure hope that continues for all who have posted and for all to follow! Those happy days are good for everyone!!
Its so pretty out side to day but cold! You might think it still winter here in Mi!
Its so nice to see some new friends join us and some older friends return. I am not a prolific poster here but do enjoy being a member of such a nice group of people.
Prayers going up from our house to yours to all friends facing health difficulties and other issues in life.
Have a good Sunday everyone
Yes, Jo, I agree with you. Today does seem to be an upbeat day, despite the cold weather. Trish, I can't believe you got to take Utley for a WALK. Wonderful. Eileen, that was a nice vote of confidence in your abilities last night. It's always nice to be appreciated for what we can do.
Grammy, I'll be right over for breakfast! LOL!
Actually, I guess I'll be cooking breakfast this morning since Carrie is here. I like to cook breakfast when I have company.
Sitting here waiting for my weekly phone call from Butch. I can't wait to talk to him today. I have missed him so much this week. Got so much going on with trying to GTHRTS (get the house ready to sell). I want to talk to him about what to tell the painter who's coming tomorrow evening especially. And I need to call the man who put the siding up on our house when we built it. We had a little wind damage and lost a piece or two a couple years back. I need to get him out here to replace it.
Funny how you let so many little things slide, isn't it?
Verdict is still out on the new paint color for the kitchen. I did paint two sample boards yesterday and I've been taping them up in various spots around the kitchen and breakfast nook, trying to get a "feel" for the new color. I'm just not sure. Carrie got here so late yesterday evening, that she just had to rush in, get dressed, and rush back out again to meet her friends. She didn't have much chance to look. I wish the sun would come out so I could see what the new color looks like in natural daylight.
I finished purging my pantry of all my wheat products yesterday afternoon and I have them sacked up for Carrie to take home with her today. I'm also going through all my office supplies. I have a ton of 3 ring binders and assorted specialty papers for the printer, etc., that I don't need to hang on to now that I'm not working anymore. I hope she can use some of them.
I wi**** wasn't so muddy out there this morning and I could let the puppies outside. My granddog Molly is a big yellow lab and she spends all her time cooped up in Carrie's duplex. I would like to let her out to run and play here, but oy vey! She loves the water and would run through every muddy puddle we have on this place! I just can't let her out right now, even though I know she needs the exercise.
I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. Judy, hope you get your "day of rest" today! I'll be over for dinner as soon as I leave Caroline's house after breakfast! LOL!
Love you all!
I have been missing in action the last few days. Life has been busy and good. I am getting more strength every day. I am doing my first business trip since surgery on Tuesday, please keep me in your prayers that I will have enough energy to get through Wednesday and home safely.
I have been searching for a 'medic alert' piece of jewelry. I don't want to be in an accident and they try to put in an NG tube or give me NSAIDS, as well as I have other allergies. Any suggestions for a piece of jewelry? What do you wear?
Eileem, its great when you get to do something you enjoy. It seems everyone else is having a great day.
GrammyLew, I have a place at Atlantic Beach, NC and live near Greenville, NC. We should get together sometime when I am at the coast. I like going over to Jacksonville shopping.
The weather man has predicted a slight change of snow this evening. I have mixed feelings about it, if it comes, let it be a small amount and gone before the commuter traffic kicks in tomorrow morning.
Have a great day!
Linda
Eileen, That sounds like it was fun. I'm glad they are letting you spread your wings a bit at your new position. I know your wings had been pinned down for far too long. Hope things becomes something that adds variety to your work week.
I've become a try believer in Simply Saline. It really cleared up my clogged sinuses quickly. An inexpernsive thing to try. I have known for years that salty ice chips did more for my sore throats than medication. Simply Saline is kind of the same idea. A saline mist spray up the nose. It really worked for me.
Have too run . Still playing catchup from our trip.
