Wacky Wednesday What's Up?
I hope everyone is having a blessed day. I am up, and getting ready to get to an AA meeting.
Jus****ched the Today show's article on Starr Jones' weight loss surgery. Good article.
The nurse is coming again today. She thinks I will be done healing in two weeks. I hope she is right.
I got a call from my daughter yesterday asking when I would be healthy enough to help her with the kids before she has the baby. She is measuring a month ahead of schedule, but the doctor is not moving her due date up. Her second baby was 9 lb. 6 oz. My two sons were both 10 and a half pounds and her husband was over 10 pounds too. So she is doomed to have a big baby.
Hope everyone is having a good day.
Hugs,
Trish

I love big babies, my daughter had a water birth at home and my grandsone was 10lbs. He looked like a little sumo-wrestler.
I had heard Star Jones was on Today. I will have to you-tube it.
I have the first of 2 appointments today for my pre-op stress test. The no-coffee thing for 24 hrs prior to the test is killing me. I have the second portion tomorrow, so no coffee until tomorrow afternoon. I've been chugging ice water to wake up. It's working!
Trish, have a good meeting.
Everyone have a great hump-day.
Sharon
Trish and Sharon, lovely Wednesday to you and all to come.
Trish sounds like your leg is doing well, that is great news.
Sharon, keep on keeping on. That magical day will arrive in no time!
Our granddaughter's team lost their basketball game last night. Those JV girls were just too tall for our girls. Brooke is a point guard and only 5 feet tall. In one school around here, the parents kept their daughter back a year awhile ago, so she would be taller and be able to stand out in high school basketball and possibly get a BB scholorship to college. I think that is just wrong.
Granddaughter has a teeth cleaning at 8 AM. Today is late start at school, so she should get to math in time. She is overjoyed! But at 1 she has a DR. appt. to check out why she keeps getting dizzy. My Dad and I both suffered from vertigo. Mine only happens occassionally but I keep mecklazine in my purse, just in case. Our daughter was having the problem and she was diagnosed with BPPV. Makes me wonder if that was my Dad's problem, cause he was dizzy all the time! Anyway, it will be an in and out day at school for granddaughter. BB practice from 7 to 9.
I go home tomorrow. Taking the red eye out of PDX, get home on Friday. Then Saturday I go to SC to pick up Blaine for his winter break from military school.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!
Afternoon OFF family!!
Sitting in office this morning I had a woman and her son stop to see if the could look at an apartment. Sure...Now this is the last one on this side that is available unless I hear different from the man that wants one on this side...should hear back today from him. I have another woman with appointmeny for tomorrow at 1pm so if all 3 want an apartment...omg I am sunk...I have several on other side but they want this side...I am in a delema...yikes. First nobody wanting to rent and now they ALL want and I do not have what they all want...sighs. Hopefully it will all work out for me and them!!!
Cloudy here and 36* looking at rain tonight and tomorrow. Crud!!!! Hate getting wet when showing apartments.
Have appointment to get our taxes done tonight at 6. Rick finally got his W2 in mail yesterday!!! Nice huh? Hopefully we will get a nice refund. Price of gas going up they keep telling us...could see $5 a gallon by memorial day. That just plain sucks!!!!!! Just when you think you are making head way gas goes up yet again!!
Well time to get back to work and bank cash some checks and all that good stuff. Hardware store also.
Thoughts and Prayers for all that need them!!
HUGS
Where is everyone today? I got here late, but I see I'm not the only one.
Trish, I know you will be so happy to have your leg all healed up again. What a long, drawn-out ordeal this has been for you. But you continue to amaze me with your good attitude and the way you keep your chin up!
Judy, I'm sitting here dealing with my finances, too, today. What a drag. I'd rather be watching a movie and crocheting!
My tile guy is here this week. He finished the ceramic tile in the upstairs bath. I posted pics on FB. It looks so nice. Now he's working on the marble tile in the bathroom. They have to do some special floor prep for the marble tiles. I guess marble cracks easily if the sub-floor isn't prepped right.
Yesterday I tried making GF saltine crackers. Hmmmm. I never did get them rolled out thin enough! I had to leave them in the oven for a long, long time before they would get hard and crisp all the way through. Now they're like little bricks! LOL! But I think they're okay. Not great, but okay. I have some other recipes that I want to try next.
Hubby made it to the rig okay. Just a very, very long "day" of travel. I say "day" because of the time change. It's really more like 2 days' time, but the date never changes the whole time he's travelling. Anyway, word is he MIGHT be going to Singapore to work on a rig that's in the shipyard there. Cross your fingers! Singapore would be wonderful for him. Anyplace but the Middle East, you know?
Got my 1 year follow up appt with Dr. Garth for Feb 28th. I sure do wish I could lose a few more pounds before then. Why won't this weight move? I guess this is about all I'm going to get. It's okay, really, I'm so happy now. Just something about that magic 100 number! I want it!
Well, my bookkeeping isn't going to do itself, now is it? Pat R., I admire you for tackling tax returns!!! You go girl! Prayers and well wishes to our two Nancys, plus others who need healing this week.
Love you all!
Thanks for the kind words. I was told that I was in for a long period of healing the first time I was in the hospital. I have really lousy circulation in my legs, so I knew the healing would take time. I accepted that fact right away.
I have a lot to be grateful for. A little over a year ago, I survived a pulmonary embolism. I am able to pay for my COBRA medical benefits, which are very good. I have friends and family that helped me get through the worst part of this ordeal. I am sober, and off the narcotic medications now. I have a ton of blessings in my life right now. I can't help but have a positive attitude.
Hugs,
Trish

I am so late again today...sorry....I just couldn't get here sooner!
I had a fabulous Valentine's Day!! Our dinner was delicious!
We had such a great time!! He brought me flowers and candy....the candy I gave to my sister!! Got some nice Valentine's in the mail and from him. I can smile again!!
I haven't done much today just busy things. Did laundry and changed sheets on my bed. I forgot to scrub the kitchen floor when I cleaned yesterday so I did that. I went tanning..YAY!!
I also went to the grocery store for fruit. Guess I did do quite a lot!
I plan on staying home this evening. Just want to read and watch some TV.
Hope you all had a great Valentine's Day!! Wishing you a wonderful day today too.
Prayers for those in need....a few special ones for some.
Love and many hugs to all....connie d
Just realized I hadn't posted all day. Been busy with laundry and talking to my brother and ... oh well, you know ... it's prep day for colonoscopy so I am now taking my prep. Even the pills are salty. I have now taken four doses of four with water as prescribed. So far, nothing happening. God, I want to eat! I've had two half cups of chicken brother, two SF jello cups, a limeade bar, a pot of coffee, plus my usual water ... yet, all I can think of is food. Oh well, tomorrow I guess will be soon enough.
Then I had to worry about how to pay for this ... the colonoscopy is covered, the EGD is not, so I have to shell out $2800 for the EGD. I don't have the money in my HSA other than $108, so that's all I can give them. They said that's fine. The HSA doesn't put in everything at the beginning of the year like the FSA does ... so you don't have the money available to you right away. How dumb! But you can roll it over at least.
My brother had a job interview yesterday and he's hopeful. It's just part-time but with his other part-time job might work out OK. And maybe it will lead into something full-time in the long run.
Well, anyway, got to get some more water ... maybe a little something else, like a lemonade bar. I feel like I'm going to float away.
Have a good day.
Took granddaughter to the doc about her dizzy spells. Our daughter met us there. Took all of 10 minutes. The doctor is referring her to an ENT to check for BPPV, the same thing our daughter has occasionally.
I really like some of these Welden Farms products. Mainly the Raspberry Vinegarette and the Honey Mustard dressings. So good and zero calories. I'm sure they have all kinds of artificial stuff that isn't good for me. But who cares. I have lost 8 pounds in the last 10 days! The strawberry fruit spread and the marshmallow dip both have an after taste. Like the old artificial sweeteners from years ago. The ranch dressing doesn't taste at all like ranch. Anyway. I am taking some home with me and will be going to Harris Teeter in Wilmington to get some others to try. They also have some low calorie choices I might try.
Talk to ya'll tomorrow!
