Hi Nancy and my OFF family:

Nancy, sorry you are going through this; but you are keeping up your spirit, so that's good. Don't know if I would.

Not much going on here; I have to be in to work today at 2:30 p.m. so I'm up earlier than usual. I got up at 8:30 a.m. and made a pot of coffee. Now I'm showered and feel sleepy. My tooth was really bothering me last night most of the night but it's OK now. It was a pain last night ... we had an earlier deadline and I had both sports sections to do, and the deadlines were the same. Plus, then I had to redo one page because the instructions were unclear (college basketball roundup ... Sunday, we had women's basketball; Monday, we didn't, the sports editor got angry we included women's games in the roundup ... but the guy on the desk didn't tell me that .... arrrgh!). Anyway, I wasn't really happy. I wasn't feeling good, then they pull that stuff on me.

Well, my lunch is about done. Have a good day.

Hi to all of the OFF ladies.

I have added the OFF ladies to my prayer list.

I have worked some today, did some day trading ( another green day, yes), and went to my PCP physician.  He was pleased with my results and emphasized EXERCISE!  He had gotten some blood work results from the surgeon's lab and said well your protein levels are fine!  Then he laughed and said, they sent 6 copies of the same report.  I did get my shingles vaccine, so my dear friends, if you have not had yours, please get it.  They have lowered the age to 50 and the vaccine is in ample supply now.  We scheduled my bone density test as well as my mammogram for later this month.  I am waiting for the dermatologists office to call me for that appointment.

I have always been hot natured but, since surgery I can't keep warm.  I am adding layers of clothes, hopefully this will pass.

I have lost 39 pound, woo hoo!  My pants are getting baggy in the butt, but fitting comfortably in the waist.  I am rationalizing that my waist may still be swolen a bit, and I know it will come.  I am hoping to be able to finish up the winter in my current clothes and buy some smaller spring clothes.  I know they will only be for a single season, so I'm not planning on Macy's or Dillards, instead Ross or TJ Max.  I am looking forward to not having to shop in the plus size department.

again, thanks for you support, and I wish all of you the best.  I'll keep you in prayers.

Congrats Linda!!! As for buying new clothes for spring...how about the GOODWILL or SALVATION ARMY stores? Or ANY thrift store? I bought most of my "new" clothes in that type of store and let me tell you...I saved a ton of money and most of the "new" clothes still had price tags on them...never worn at all!!! In fact I still shop in the thrift stores when looking for "new" clothes!!! Never know when you will find a great buy!!!!

As for the Shingles shot...wonder how much it is without insurance? One of the tenants here just got over having them. Felt so bad for her. Had them all over her butt area. Yikes!!!

Again CONGRATS on the weight loss....hang on its a wild ride!!!!!!!

Judy, it's pricey $200-250.  I am thankful for my health insurance.  God continues to bless me daily.

Hey Nancy, my sister said the cream is called SILVADENE not sure of the spelling tho but that is how it is pronounced. She said to try and get it because it really worked great!!! She is keeping you in her thoughts and prayers.

Nancy,

I remember when my cousin had radiation, she put silvadene cream on her area and it helped her tremendously; later on, she switched from the silvadene to some vitamin b and e cream.  I remember her skin being so burned from her chest to the back of her armpit. I went with her to every one of her treatments and spent hours putting the cream on her.  Of course, she had the chemo too, and was already so weak.  My sisters and I rallied around her and made her do the treatments.  That was almost ten years ago…she is still cancer free.  And, she still uses the silvadene for everything and the vit b and e cream.

Today has been a very hectic day for me.  I have been doing writing workshops for the graduate students and am exhausted.  So, hubby and I went to our favorite little under ground restaraunt and while we were there, our friends came in and I said, wow, imagine that.  And then our friend pulled out a bag and hands to his husband, and his husband said, oh sweetie thank you but then he said, WTF, and my husband laughs, and I said, what and he says, I gave him the wrong gift.  I said, wrong gift?  He said, yes.  So, then he gives his hubby the right gift then I say, well, whose gift is that?  My friend says, well….it's your gift.  Hubby had them pick up my gift.  DH bought me a beautiful locket gold locket and a gorgeous fine gold chain and a matching  bracelet.  Yes, he spoils me.  Then my gay friend, who is also my dance partner, gave me a wonderful gift too.  He gave me dancing shoes for my charm bracelet.  The shoes are engraved with his and my initials and the year.  I was in the restaraunt with my best friend, his husband, and my DH.  I was the envy of all the women in the place.
