Good Morning Everyone,
I am getting just waiting for the visiting nurse.  She is due here in a little over an hour.  I have to talk to her about the amount of pain I had yesterday.  It was more than ever since I got home.

After she leaves, I will be working on the baby blanket for my sister's donation to a basket raffle in October.  I hope to fini**** before I learn the color of the one I want to make for my future grandchild.

Well, nothing new or exciting in my world.  What's new in your's?

Hugs,
Trish

Good Morning everyone!

Up early because the wind was blowing so hard that it sounded like the house would blow away. Also a light rain that was beating against the windows made sleep impossible.

I've been using Simply Saline the past couple of days. That plus the hot tub and steaming in the shower has done wonders for the sinus discomfort. Mike has come down with a nasty cold. I told him that if he isn't MUCH better by Friday he is going to the doctor whether he wants to or not. That or I'll leave him home and he'll miss Kauai!

Subbing all week with the same group of special needs kids. Two in particular feed themselves and what a mess they make. I took some old but still decent tshirts and made what we'll call "Lunch Ts" instead of bibs.  I cut the sleeves and back off leaving the ribbed neck. Opening the neck up a bit in the back I then hemmed the edges all around. Sure will save their clothes IF they will wear them. You never know! If they wear them I'll make more.

MIke, Maggie and I went for a nice walk just through the neighborhood on the trail yesterday. Lots of new houses  being built. Kind of sad, we've enjoyed the open spaces around us, but it was inevitable.

The temp got up to a balmy 57 yesterday! February arrives this week. That is always such a milestone for me. I saw the first green weeds popping up in the flowerbeds. Bring on spring. Can't wait to dig in the dirt.

Got my hair colored and permed Friday. Finally I can do something with it today. Hadn't had a perm in years until June for Nate's wedding. I've really enjoyed it. Think it might need to be shortened a bit on top but I'll see how it looks after messing with it this morning. My hair is still most sandy brown so I'm still able to get away with "highlights and lowlights" instead of an allover color. Twice a year for the coloring and perms is bad enough money wise but manageable.

Best get in gear. You all have a good day. I'm starting each day with a positive attitude. I am so thankful for this renewed healthy life that became mine in 2005 I vow to make the most of it.

Hello Everybody,

I had a very busy weekend. When that happens I am usually tired on Monday.  We are balmy here in the Chicago area. I cannot believe this weather! We have only had snow a couple times so far this year.

I am dreading work today. I have been having to "police" a nasty, unprofessional physician in one of my clinics. Before I left the office on Friday, I sent a long e-mail to his supervisors about his conduct and this guy is super nasty and will not take it lightly. I will have to deal with his attitude today. Having to deal with all the complains from staff, other physicians and patients is exhausting. The biggest problem is every conversation I have with the staff starts with, "please dont say I said anything, but he....."  He is known to lie to get out of trouble. I work closely with this guy and I am not looking forward to seeing him.

Well, I have to get going. Everyone....have a great Monday.

Hi Trish and all,

I have read all the posts lately but just don't feel like posting myself. Sometimes I just in the mood to be quiet.

Fell on the 25th and am very sore. "my" 2 nurses think I've cracked a rib or 2 with the type of pain I'm having. It's horrible to cough. sneeze, or breathe deeply. Moving is not so easy either. There is nothing much to do for it except take pain pills be not do anything stupid.
Trish: Please take care and heal quickly.
  Hugs to all,   Mag

 Mag,
I hope you feel better soon.  When I fell, one month ago today, I headed straight to the emergency room for x-rays.  At that time, my head and nose looked much worse, and all that was wrong on my leg was a small abrasion.  It wasn't till the 2nd of January that my leg looked and felt horrific.

Take care.  If it doesn't start to improve soon, I hope you will see a doctor.

Hugs,
Trish

Good morning Trish and everyone.....

I had a really wonderful day with my family and friends yesterday. It was so nice to spend time with my daughter and grandchildren. Just what I needed!!

Nothing much planned today. My niece is stopping over sometime today. Haven't seen her in quite a long time. She is my favorite and I am hers!!

I do have to get together some paperwork for tomorrow. I have a couple appointments set up.

As for today I am going to just relax and do exactly whatever I please. Sounds wonderful doesn't it!

Hope all is going well for all of you. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Hope you all have a really nice day.

Love and hugs to all....connie d

Good afternoon, ya'll.
Trish, be careful with that leg. When my DH was heavier and before we wore support hose, his legs would swell terribly and get big blisters that would break and weep. Twice we went through going to the wound center every other day for 2 weeks. They would unwrap them, debride them and rewrap them. It was nasty, it hurt, and took a lot of time! After he lost some weight his legs don't swell anymore.
Took the OR grandson back to his military academy, yesterday. My DH and I spent the night and came home this morning. COLD, this morning! Our daughter has decided Blaine can go back to OR for his senior year. But he has to get As and Bs like he is getting now. I think he will need a tutor! At the military academy there are 2 MANDETORY study halls each day with teacher supervision. No one at his house is disciplined enough to make sure he actually does his studying and homework! His parents ask if he has homework, he says he got it done in class. No one follows up to check. So he knows he can get away with the lies. By the time his parents get the word he has a dozen missing assignments, and he won't get full credit if he makes them up. It is pretty much as much his parent's fault as his. She's our daughter, and I love her, but she is too busy and her house husband is too complacent! But he is diligent in seeing to it that Blaine gets his workout in every day! Sorry for the rant! Blaine's sister does her 3 hours of homework a night, and 2 hours basketball practice every night. She is keeping her grades up, but she has no life. Oh well, I guess that's how it is with high school kids today!
Got my suitcase out and printed my itinerary for my trip to OR. I leave Saturday. I should be packed by then! I have to decide what yarn and books to take. I'll have lots of free time while granddaughter is in school. Her cat likes to help me crochet!
Sometime this week we will have to go to the commissary to be sure the DH has all the groceries he will need for 2 weeks. And get cash for the housekeeper. She'll be here while I am gone. I get back on the 17th and on the 18th I go back to SC to get Blaine again for a 4 day winter break. It's gonna be a lot of travel in Feb.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!
