Sleepy Saturday What's Up?
I hope everyone is enjoying a pleasant weekend. I am waiting for the visiting nurse, who should be here in an hour and half. She is trying a new wound treatment to speed healing. The wounds have a lot of dead tissue, which hinders healing. The new treatment is to dissolve that dead stuff to expose healthy tissue, which will heal. She, or a colleague, will be here everyday till Tuesday, then every other day. Other than that, my day is free.
I was supposed to help with the Special Olympics Polar Plunge, but can't risk falling and reinjuring the leg. Plus, I must keep the leg elevated as much as possible, or the healing with slow down. So, I will be working on a new baby blanket that my sister asked me to make for a raffle that Special Olympics has as part of a Dinner Bingo in October. I would be working on my future grandchild's blanket, but my daughter won't tell me what color. I made the other Munchkins' blankets in nontraditional colors for babies. Isabel's is sage green, and Lincoln's is royal blue. I make them the size of the crib mattress, and they use them on their beds now, and will be able to use them as throws when they are older. Since Colleen, my daughter, won't divulge the gender of the baby, she won't tell me what color, because I will figure out the gender based on the colors of the kids' rooms.
I hope everyone has a blessed day.

Happy weekend everyone! I've been fighting and losing a battle with a sinus infection. It doesn't hurt but has caused a lot of drainage which left me without a voice most of yesterday. We leave for Kauai on Feb 8 so unless it is much better by Tuesday I'll see if I can get an antibiotic to start before the trip that will cover me most of the time we're gone. Worked all week in a special ed classroom.Phyisally exhausting so I was glad to see the weekend arrive. I go back all week next week then I'm off for two weeks. That will make me enjoy Hawaii that much more; not that it takes anything for me to enjoy it! Sunshine, the beach, 75 degree temps, tropical breezes, relaxing with Mike and Erin. . . . and of course me running around like a banshee trying not to miss anything. Think I'll go steam in the hot tub for a few to help clear my sinuses. Do something special for yourself or someone else today!

There is a product you can get in the cold/flu aisle of the drug store called. NeilMed. It's similar to the NettiPot. You boil water and let it cool to warm, then fill the little bottle with 8 ounces of the water and a packet of the stuff that comes with the bottle. The top to the bottle is designed to allow you to squirt the fluid into your sinuses. Stand over the sink to allow it to drain. Use it on both nostrils till it is empty. It helps get the gunk out, and is sterile, so it will not make you sicker.
I have been battled sinus infections for decades, and have had two surgeries and might need a third. Since I have asthma, I have to stay on top of the sinus infections, because they can trigger an asthma attack.

Morning Trish and OFF family to follow!
Well this morning I got up to go open the club houses and laundry rooms...SNOW on the ground AGAIN! Enough that the guys have to clean it up....seems like they will never get any rest on the weekend! This snow is about an inch and a half deep and it is heavy wet snow. Looks pretty on the trees and all but still why on the weekend? LOL
Need to do some more looking through a couple boxes and see what can be tossed and shredded. Seems like I am not getting anywhere....but I know I am because there are less boxes sitting here...wooohoooo!!!!!
Still have an earache but not like it was couple days ago. Tried heating pad on it and that helped some. Tylenol does nothing for pain. I give up.
Well best get me some food and start digging through boxes. Thoughts and Prayers for all that need them!!

Yesterday I was basically in the car from 6:30 AM til 5 PM. I drove to SC to pick up my grandson for his furlough weekend from the military academy. We stopped for lunch at Zaxby's on the way home. I ate 2 chicken fingers. About 30 min up the road I was desparately looking for a rest room. Not sure if it was the grease or the ranch dressing. But whatever it was went through me like Sherman through Atlanta! Then when we got into town we had to stop at GNC to get him some stuff. He also had a list of some stuff for friends but they don't carry the stuff at GNCs on base, so will have to get it at the mall. If the Marines don't want it sold on base, I wonder what is in it? Both grandsons went to the gym to workout. And I imagine to see who can lift more, or whatever they do. NC grandson went to a basketball game, OR grandson stayed here and played playstation. We ordered, cheesy bread, wings, lave cakes and pizza, had half a piece and off to bed. Got up to go at 12:30 and grandson already in bed. That's pretty good for him.
We need some stuff at WM and so does the grandson. I'm not sure if he'll want to go with us slow movers, or if he'll give me his list. It's really just personal stuff, toothpaste, deoderant, etc.
So, a pretty relaxing day on tap today. I know our son and DIL and grandson will be down later to help finish the pizza left overs. I can always count on them for that. Not sure when this grandson will be up and around!
Everyone have a fantabulous weekend!
