What's Up Wednesday?

 Good Morning OFF Family,
I am up earlier than I wanted to be up, but can't get back to sleep.

Last night, one of my friends from Bible Study brought over a feast of a meal that was out of this world.  We had a wonderful evening eating and visiting till 10:00.  She even made fresh green beans and steamed cabbage.  Yummo.  For dessert we had a fruit salad topped with Cool Whip.  She left me the leftovers, and there is plenty for me to have another feast.  What a lovely evening we had.  She and I have so mu*****ommon.  She taught in Philadelphia one year, and has a Masters in Social Work, and we are both divorced.  Small world.

Today, I have the visiting nurse coming.  Today, the wound nurse is coming to check my wounds, to see if I am ready for a wound vac.  Then, I had cancelled yesterday's eye exam because I wasn't feeling well, so today, I am going.  I also have to swing by the post office by the eye place and mail a package and buy some stamps.  I also need to get some more notecards to send thank you notes to people,  I don't want anyone to think I take their help and kindness for granted.  Plus, I just want to reach out to some folks.

I hope everyone has a blessed day.

Hugs,
Trish

Trish-

Glad to hear that you had a nice visit with your Bible Study friend.  Take it easy on the errands.  Rest and relaxation are the key to healing.  Your situation reminds me of my cousin's year of illness.

She had thrown an pulmonary embolism on Halloween.  While on Coumadin they decided she needed to have a hysterectomy.  Well that didn't go well.  We had the visiting nurse in daily for her incision wound which they had to let heal from inside out.  Wound nurse came once a week.  During that time I stayed with her cooking and caring for her.  The key is rest and nutrition.

So your friends will understand if the thank you notes are a little late.  Get one of your visiting friends to pick up the notes and stamps for you.  Sorry to sound preachy but want you to heal quickly and get back on your feet permanently!

Heavy winds last night here in Texas.  We're supposed to have heavy rain but so far it hasn't developed.  I'm off to the chiropracter this morning.  I was in a lot of pain on Monday.  Today it was better but I'm still waking up in the middle of the night with pain.  Thank goodness for Alieve and Tylenol which are making my daily life bearable.  Was seriously considering a trip to the doctor on Monday when the pain was severe.

Yesterday we (volunteers) got an email telling us that they are going to try to band some snow geese next week.  They asked us if we wanted to help.  They will use a rocket net to capture the geese, put them in a holding pen.  Then we will hold a goose while they determine sex, weight, get a blood sample and put a tag on the leg.  I'm going to try to do this.  What a thrill to get to watch this process and possibly help.  Got to dig out my boots and gloves!  I'll try to get some pictures and post them next week when it happens.  This is why I volunteer to learn new things and get a chance to observe science in action.

Well, have to make my protein shake and then get on the road to the chiropracter.

Positive thoughts to all of you!

Good morning Trish and Cindi and all my OFF sistas to come!

Just a quick hello this morning. Up early today, preparing for a long, long day.  Hope I can fall into bed at Hilltop by 10 p.m. tonight.  Butch and I got the Uhaul all loaded up yesterday.  Can you all believe he and I moved that piano all by ourselves???  My husband is a smart, smart man.  He planned it out well and by golly, we did it.  Thankfully Carrie has some guy friends who will help us unload it this afternoon.

Got to run.  Meeting Mom at the bank at 9 a.m. and then back to her place to get her stuff together for our trip.  Hope we can pull out of here by noon.

Love you all!

Good mornin', ya'll.
Need to make a quick trip to Staples today. I have some empty ink cartridges to turn in. We get $2 in rewards credit for each one. After I have enough added up I do an online order. They deliver to my door free if I spend a certain amount. I wait til I need paper, or more ink. My DH is the coupon king. He is always printing grocery coupons for us, our DIL and our housekeepers. I print out a lot of crochet patterns and recipes to try. So we go through a lot of ink.
Yesterday was a lovely weather day. Seemed like May without the humidity. Today looks like the same kinda day on tap.
Our daughter and her team were up half the night taking inventory in the 6 stores they just bought. Back at work at 7AM, today to continue the roll over. The employees that have worked at these stores have the option of staying with our daughter's company, or moving on. There is a difference in pay, job descriptions and benefits. Then she will know how many she has to hire. She will be there a week. Her second in command will be there a month.
Trish, you be careful. Just because you are feeling a little better, don't overdo it. You are so lucky to have the support system you do.
Connie, so glad you are getting settled in!
Better hit the shower, then off to the store.
Have a fantabulous day!

Morning Trish, Cindy, Grammy, Vickie and Those yet to arrive. . .

Trish I hope that you feel better and better each day and I'm glad that you have such fine support from your church folks, it is nice when you are associated with a group of likeminded people who actually practice what is taught, have a good day and don't push too hard.

It's mid-week and we're having a mild spell with the weather right now, so I wish I could be doing stuff that involves enjoyment of the weather, instead of sitting here at this darn desk, pushing papers around, but as the expression goes, I owe, I owe and off to work I go. . .  ;)  Nothing too exciting going on, will go to a nooner AA meeting which frees up the evening to spend at home with Roxie.

Wishing everyone a very good day and for any feeling down or facing challenges, I send out positive happy thoughts and wish you peace and strength to get through.

Hugs, Laureen

Morning all. Sober 449 days and so proud of me.
Didn't do what we planned yesterday, hubby's back was crooked and sore....must have slept wrong. So we hit the gym and hot tub and he felt better by evening. Played Texas Holdem and had fun.Climbed into bed and within moments had 2 legged foot, ankle, and calf cramps that screamed pain. Tried to walk them off but release was slow. Was and still am in such pain from the top of my hips to my toes. I took tylenol and 2 muscle relaxers, but no help. Up most of the night and so sluggish this morning. Will have to work on not sleeping too much today so I can hopefully sleep tonight.
Weather is fantastic, warm and sunny. We need rain badly.
Pat sounds so happy, I know we are all happy for her.
Trish continue to feel better.
Hope all have a beautiful day, Monica

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

Take it easy there, Trish. You don't want to overexert yourself if you're feeling good and then get back in the hospital.

I thought I had a car appointment this morning ... I was up and showered, the phone rang three times while I was in the bathroom. Two messages, one from former cleaning lady, one from the car dealership telling me my appointment was tomorrow. Oh well. So I was up; my cleaning lady wanted her payment and needed it now, so I searched around for  a Western Union payment place. I was able to do it by phone; she got her money and that was a good thing. It cost me a bit more than sending it through the mail but she's waited long enough.

So I headed out for some running around, just as it started hailing ... then it rained the rest of the day; a chilly rain. My back is now hurting me and my knees. I couldn't wait to get home. I'm so chilled and sleepy, too.

But I have the day off and tomorrow, too. So I have no plans other than to unpack a few more boxes. I want a nap right now.

Good afternoon Trish and everyone....

Long day again today. I just finished  helping my sister go through her closet and  misc other things that were in the spare room I am in now. It was her catch all room. There was lots in that room for for sure!!  Everything was just set in her room so they could get mine in. What a mess!!! Glad that is done now!!  Now we need to break down boxes and have someone come and get rid of them for us.

Hope everyone here is doing well.  Praying for those in need.

Love and hugs to all.......connie d

Trish you best not over do it now that you seem to be feeling better...don't want you to have a relapse...just let the things go that are NOT an emergency to get done right now. HUGS
