What's up Tuesday?
Eileen the tone of your posts are so contented sounding now, I am delighted that you had the courage to make the move and get in a better place. Sorry Juliette is itchy. I once had a cat who was allergic to fleas and chewed himself bare bellied every summer. Fortunately Sylvester the current fur baby is not that way.
Jeanne (sp) where is your epipen! If you're that allergic I'm surprised that you don't have one. My cousin is severely allergic to many things. I am routinely on her case about carrying her epipen!
Tri****hink your mother is jealous that you have friends who will come help you. My mom can be the same way with me. I never seem to do anything to her satisfaction. Years of therapy have helped but occassionally she still pushes the buttons. Keep following doctors orders and get healed up. FYI you inspired 6 scarves from me and 5 from the Ranger here at the Refuge. We're going to mail them in this week.
Monica so happy for your continued sobriety! Keep up the good work.
Grammylew have a safe trip to Oregon to help your daughter.
Well I had a nice three days off. Spent most of it sewing valences for the volunteer community building here at the Refuge. I sewed three valences for the kitchen/living room. An additional two made for the bathrooms. I also stiched 7 panels to be used to cover the space under the kitchen counter as they didn't have money for base cabinets. Just have to stitch on the velcro for the panels and glue the velcro to the two by fours under the counter. That way they can be taken down and washed once and a while. Cut out a baby quilt and will work on that this coming weekend since the baby was born on December 26th!
Really sore all weekend with my back and knee. I'm trying to be patient with this chiropracter but last night I did an hour with my tens (sp) unit and warm heat followed with going to bed with an ice pack. So many of you have talked about those mattress pad heaters that I'm thinking about picking one of those up this weekend to see if that helps. Trying real hard to keep up with the exercise program so I continue to lose weight. I've been stalled since Thanksgiving and I don't think the scales are ever going to go down again.
Anyway, that's all from me. Back to my "sexy" files here at the Refuge. Sending positive vibes to all of you in need.
First off I want to thank you all for the kind word, hugs, and prayers. Everyone here on OFF as well as Facebook.
I think everything has caught up with me because today I am so tired I can hardly sit at the computer.
I need to go get gas in my car as I never stopped on the way from Iowa to get gas. I have a little less then a 1/4 tank. With the cold weather I never leave it less then a 1/2 tank. I need to go pick up a few things for my sister while I am out too.
Wishing you all a great day!! Prayers for those in need.
Much love and hugs....connie d

I only have a quick minute to post today. Hubby has gone to pick up the Uhaul trailer. We will be spending the afternoon loading it up with Carrie's things: piano, treadmill, sofa table, and all the boxes of her stuff I packed up the other night. Oy vey! Wish us luck!
I love getting on here and reading about everyone everyday. You all mean so much to me! I'm so proud and honored to be sharing in your lives. I feel like Connie--I miss you all when I can't be "with" you every day.
I don't have time to address each one personally right now, but I have to tell Connie how happy I am that the move went well. Like so many have said, you sound much, much happier and so relieved. I'm proud of you for taking care of yourself. You are very strong, Connie!
Trish, I sent my 6 scarves into Special Olympics today. I posted a pic on FB and also on my profile page here on OH, if anyone wants to look at them. And, yes, moms can be hurtful. I'm sorry your mom is being hateful to you right now.
Cindi, I saw your cabinets on FB. Looks good! I meant to comment, lost the time, and now it's just easier to tell you here. Also, I need your help with my stupid Knook scarf! I've done something crazy with it. I tell you, some people are not meant to knit--and I'm one of them!
Oh, bother, here comes Butch up the driveway. I'd better hop off before he catches me "wasting" more time on the computer! LOL!
Love you all!
Vic
Hi All,
I promise- no politics- I have no excuse except that I'm Italian... haha!
I'm home today- I caught a doozy of a chest cold from a teacher this week. I tried to keep my distance but it didn't work. I toughed it out yesterday because I had a meeting and tomorrow I have another. Today I'm sleeping and resting. Last night I had night sweats that woke me at least four times. I think my fever spikes and when it drops I wake up because the sweat makes me feel cold. At least I've lost a few pounds.
Nothing else happening with me. Glad things are going well for most of you. The scarves looked great by the way... have any of you been to Special Olympics? Hey have them everywhere in the spring- in each county I believe, working up to the International event. I've been to more than I can count. The children love it- it's lots of fun. When you work with special ed (this is my 35th year) you go to lots of Special Olympics. I work with a mixed population- kids that just have speech issues (everything else is in the average range) and students with severe handicaps but are able to be at a regular campus. All children are special.... you get to love all (maybe not every single one) of them.
Julia
Be careful that chest cold does not develop into anything more serious and if you continue to spike and get cold sweats, see a doctor, you might need an antibiotic to kick it out of your system. . .

My nephew has been an athlete since he was in school, and he is 29 now. It has helped transform him from a shy, quiet reclusive kind of kid, into a social, caring young man. He does soccer and basketball every year. He has done baseball and track, but is thinking of doing bocce this Spring. He has gone to the state competitions for soccer and track, but not in the Winter.
Special Olympics is so inpsiring, and we never boo, or say anything negative about the opposition in a competition. Everyone gets cheered.
One thing I learned when Neil started to compete is that Special Olympics is totally dependent on donations. They get zero funding from the government. So, my sister is the county fundraising coordinator, and organizes all sorts of events to raise money, as well as awareness.
Thanks for supporting our athletes.
Hugs,
Trish
