Sunday What's Up?

 Good Morning OFF Family,
I got up early this morning and could not get back to sleep, so I decided to stay up and get my day started.  I am chuckling because my Christmas decorations are still up.  I usually put them all away the first full weekend in January, after January 6th, the Feast of the Epiphany.  Unfortunately, I was in the hospital that weekend.  Since then, I have been unable to go down to the basement to get the storage boxes and carry them upstairs.  I can't even just go up and down a flight of stairs.  So, my tree, and all the trimmings, are still up.  Argh!

I changed the dressing on my leg by myself today.  The nurse asked me if I could do it myself yesterday, and I had seen it done plenty, so I toid her I could.  I think I did a fairly decent job,  Tomorrow, the nurse has to get blood to check my Coumadin level.

The rest of today will be working on scarf #4.  After that is done, I am going to find the pattern for the baby stuff I am going to sew for my daughter's bun in the oven.  I am not going to start the projects, just get everrything together.  I have to wait till I can stand for more than 10 minutes to start sewing projects.  In the meantime, I have plenty of yarn and projects to work on.

Hope everyone has a blessed day.

Hugs,
Trish

Morning Trish! Looks like you are doing better now that you are home again. Glad that you have things to keep you busy while "sitting" there getting that leg better!

Its another cold day but supposed to warm up and then rain and possible Tstorms...just what we do not need here! Snow melting and rain...makes me worried about possible flooding here...our parking lot floods and it can also creep into apartments...YIKES!!!! Hope it doesn't get that bad!!

Got my hair cut yesterday...really short too...looks like Jamie Lee Curtis but a tad longer...love it!!! Rick said I was butchered...hahaha very funny!!! He likes it though he said.

See Joe Paterno is not doing very well. Sad...but he was not a nice guy all those years either!

Got one W2 back so far for my income taxes...hopefully the rest will not be far behind so I can get them made out and money in the bank!!

Nohing else happening here so going to go play my game while Rick makes us bacon and eggs. :-)

Thoughts and Prayers for all that need them!!

HUGS

PS wonder how Connie is doing with her move and also Margo. Anyone hear anything yet?

Good mornin' ya'll.
No BLT Sunday today. First time in a long time! Our son will probably come for crispy bacon, but he just puts it in a bowl and adds pure maple syrup, and eats it like that! Can we say "fat and calorie overload"?
Our DIL, our grandson, and 5 others are on their way back from a trip to Lindenwood University where our grandson and his "girl" friend are going next year. She is someone he has known since elementary school.
Our son got his retirement request approved. His official date is Feb 28, 2013. But, with all of his leave his last day at work will be sometime in Dec 2012. This will give him 29 years. He would have stayed the extra year, but in Dec 2011 they were gonna send him to AZ or CA for 2 years. So that's when he put in his papers. He is now concentrating on getting all of his medical problems taken care of before Dec. They will only do one thing at a time. They have worked on his back with shots. It is still jacked up, but for now they are moving on to his hand. Then the nerve damage in his left arm ( they already fixed the right arm). Then he needs a new left shoulder. The last thing to concentrate on is the PTSD. He pretty much has a consulting job lined up for after his retirement, so no break in his income.
We have been getting a lot of rain, which means my backyard is a swamp! When we first got here our son put in underground pvc pipes with drains in different areas of the yard to direct the water into the ditches on 2 sides of the yard. That works pretty good, but the ground is still saturated, and a couple of places still have some standing water. Breeding ground for mosquitoes!
Trish, I am so happy you are home where you can enjoy your own space.
Judy, sounds like your job there is lots of work. But it also sounds like you are enjoying it! Having Rick make breakfast for you can't hurt either.
I have been thinking of Connie, too. I hope her move is smooth and uneventful! Margo's, too!
Lots of thoughts and prayers for Nancy. For her health issues and her son's business in that snow and cold!
Monica, how ya' doing! I miss the stories about your travelling bra!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

LOL not really...just time consuming is all...take last night...Rick goes to lock up at 8pm and someone JUST put their clothes in the dryer at 7:55pm!! Sooo he had to wait til almost 9pm for that to finish up! He was MAD AS HELL!!!! And I don't blame him at all. We have a woman that does a monthly newsletter here and I will be putting a notice in it stating that laundry rooms close at 8pm SHARP!!! If clothes are in yet they will remain in til it opens at 8am next day!! Some of these people have no clue how many hours we put in and then they try this on us. NOT gonna happen again. We love it here and the people but at times they push our buttons if you know what I mean... ;-)

Breakfast was good...as usual.

Hello All,

I hope you guys' weekend has gone as well as mine.  Friday, I picked up my 13 year old grandson, and we took him to buy his Christmas.  He wants me to buy his after he gets his stuff from all his other grandparents.  He then does an assessment and decides what he wants from us as his big gift.  We got him little gifts--a fishing vest, fishing stuff, and a really nice knitted cap.  Plus, we got him some waders.  So, Friday, we took him to the store and he got him a portable playstation and some games.  He has not spoken since…been too busy playing games.  We did get him away from the game long enough to take him to the movie to see Red Tail.  Last week, I emailed him some links for him to read up on the Tuskeegee pilots during WWII and to read about the oppression of African Americans in America.  So, he followed the links, read about the stuff, furthered his information by reading in books at the school library and we took him to the movie and all through the movie he told us what was up.  When we got home, before he went back to playing the games, he wrote a summary critique of the movie…which was pretty damn good.  Then he and I made stuffed portablla mushrooms and stuffed chicken.  Later we made fudge.  Today, I am taking him home.  Next weekend, I am flying solo. HEHE.

It has been extraordinarily warm here and I am just waiting for the bad weather to really hit.  People have been wearing shorts.

Well, gotta go get things done before we drive the boy home.

Years ago when I worked at the hardware, a man came in wearing a jacket from the Tuskeegee (sp) group. Was very interesting to meet one of them!! I saw a movie not long before I met him and was in awe...now this movie looks very interesting to me also. Glad your grandson did a good job reading up on it and also the report after!

Hello all...sober 447 days and so proud of me.It is really lovely here, warm and sunny. Back from the pool and hot tub. Grea****er workout and book reading. Getting ready for the Patriots and then the Giants game. Game shirts on and we are so excited. Hoping the Pat's and Giants land in the Super Bowl to fight each other for the title.
The traveling bra has been busy and VERY happy. I am thrilled with how I feel on Cymbalta. I have so much energy and inner peace, so much less pain in my muscles. Right knee has its good and bad days. I wear the brace often especially when we go for long Yoda walks or out shopping.
Love my electic skillet and find I use it every day. Slow cook alot of food, finding it cooks better than the crock pot.
Had a wonderful doctor visit on Monday. My weight is stable, BP super fine, my body is handling the cholesterol medicine and Cymbalta well. Doctor gave me 4 more weeks of samples on the Cymbalta. Very nice.
Hubby goes for an endoscope on 01/31. We started with the ENT because of his excessive mucous and stuffiness and horseness. Doctor said he drinks too much milk. Cut that out and what a huge difference it makes. But he had an abnormal barium swallow and must have the scope to rule out a possible lesion or tumor or hernia. He finally asked a veteran friend to drive us to the hospital. I can not longer drive due to diminished feeling in my feet. Don't feel in control when driving and will not put others at risk. Since he has twilight sedation with the scope we needed someone to drive us. He hates to ask for help, but is the first to offer his help. One night on a Yoda walk he stopped and asked his buddy to drive us. His friend is happy to help.
Our Gkids are well and the new baby, Lincoln Jane is 3 months old and still has her red hair. Our daughter Sara is so enjoying this last little one. I don't think Miss Lincoln is ever unheld in the house. Both parents love to hold her and her 3 other siblings fight for her too.
We scored free tickets to a Newt Gingrich campaign rally this Tuesday. Making up signs to bring. We are excited to go and see him in person. We love his novels and his views.
Glad you are home Trish. Hoping you are being so good to you. I read each day about our shared lives and think all of us are truly wonderful and supportive of each other. Special prayers for Connie and Nancy.
Enjoy your Sunday and your lives, Monica and the traveling bra

Hi All,
I'm on my way to a play-off party. I won't stay too long. I caught a cold and I'm not up to parr today. Back to work tomorrow of course- I have lots of testing to squeeze in so taking a couple of days off is not in the cards.
I know that you love Newt Gingrich Monica but since you started the politics I have to have my two cents posted too. He freaks me out... I would vote for anyone BUT him. He's a loose cannon and I can't in good conscience support him or not comment to those that do. I respect your right to choose too... I even kind of understand why you like him. My opinion has absolutely nothing to do with his screwing around... I couldn't care less about that, except that his lying and covering about it is distasteful.
OK- have at me girls- I can take it!
:)

This is why I love America and our right to free speech and opinions. Haven't made up my mind about who I will totally support on the GOP ticket. I know that I will fight with all I have to defeat President Obama. I will enjoy the race and partake in it.

Long before I went to graduate school, I voted straight Democratic.  Many of my professors in graduate school were self-proclaimed Marxists.  I studied Social Work, and mainly the problems faced by the poor, whether working or not.  I did projects on the problems faced by the poor, and those who live just barely above the poverty line, especially on the lack of available medical care for those not eligible for Medicaid.  There were other projects as well.  I went from being a moderate Democrat to a bleeding heart, liberal Democrat.

I have been voting since November 1975, and can count on one hand the number of Republicans I have voted for.  I knew each of them personaly, and they were running for either school board, or township supervisor.  In the General Election, I don't vote for the person, but the party because when push comes to shove, the politicians will vote along party lines, or support the platform of the party.

Last night, I got a call from the Obama campaign asking for a monthly donation for the next nine months.  For the first time in my life, I made a commitment to that method of donating a small amount to get Obama re-elected.  I also asked to be contacted to volunteer for his campaign, when I am healthy again.

I am the 99%.
