Friday What's Up?

Same old same old here. Snow, freezing rain, cold. So I'm hanging out at home. For some unknown reason I decide that "upholsterer extraordinaire" was on  my resume. . .NOT! I do sew and have done cushions before, but I decided to tackle 4 barstools that we bought for $30.00 total at a  thrift store. They are solid oak but the fabric was dirty and shouted "70s." Sale at Joann's Fabrics so I came home with more than enough leather looking vinyl in a dark brown to redo them plus make a couple of mistakes. Seats are covered, that went pretty well. Now I'm working on the backs which is more complicated than I anticipated. I'm almost to the "staple gun" part; that I love. Except it takes quite a bit of strength.

So I'm looking around to see if there is anything else that needs covering. Antique wooden rocker in the living room has needed a new cover for years. So I take the old one off. . . OMG! Would you believe springs that need tightening, stuffing that is all matted and STRAW!!! But darn no treasyure! Needless to say I'm not putting a new covering on the seat without taking care of the guts! So instead of a 30 minute wham, bang, with my staple gun I need to rethink what I'm going to put inside of it. Tempted to put a plywoood bottom down, toss the springs and get a new foam cushion to cover. I'll think on it. Right now I'm headed back upstairs  to finish the bar stool backs.

Trish, surely they won't keep you much longer. I know  you can't wait to get home. You all take care and have a good weekend.

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

Getting on here late today ... got up and had lots of running around to do today and still didn't get it all done. Yesterday, I got my 401k payout and so I had to deposit it in my bank account. I wanted to pay back my employer right away, but they are holding until next Wednesday. Geez, it's like a payroll check. So I put it in there and took out enough for shopping and off I went.

I went to Schnucks, a local grocery store ... great place. Really good deli. I had gone in there before but never really shopped it. Lots of good stuff. Good produce area, too.

Well, I gotta go. ... get ready for work. Connie, glad Nic is going to transfer up to St. Cloud. Good school.

Have a good day.
