Keeping Decisions

Posted: 11 Jan 2012 02:51 AM PST

It's not really the making them that's hard -- it's the keeping them.  Therein lies the key to success.  Once you've made your decision, get to work keeping it.  And don't let yourself off the hook when you want to slack!

One of Vivian's daily motivational quotes says exactly that.  I printed it out large and it's hanging in my workout room to remind me of my commitment to exercise.

“There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results."

Like when you look at a plate of bacon and eggs:  The chicken is involved, but the pig is committed.

Hi gang, great comments everyone....

Connie your right it's not easy, we have to hang in there and just do our best.

Ya all know the scale is NOT my friend and I have never been a slave to the scale...just a certain size I want to be. So yesterday someone tells me it looks like I've lost weight so today I did weigh myself and I have lost 5 pounds. I'm just practicing Mindful Eating, making the best food choice.

I haven't been exercising due to pain from my adhesion's and something had to give or I would continue to gain weight.

I have been drinking protein coffee in place of breakfast. Thank goodness I like the EAS Protein drinks and I mix it 50-50 and I love it. I also have been leaving 3 bites on my plate unless I'm eating a WW frozen dinner like tonight I had the Roast beef and mashed potatoes and I added a can of mushrooms to the meat/gravy. Filled me up and I was happy.
Hugs to everyone who is struggling with regain or just maintaining their weight.
It's easy at the beginning being a fresh post op but later on we all know we have to work it!
