Barbara, it's great to meet you.  Congratulations on your WL success, and best wishes for continuing success.  I guess you're one of the oldest WLS patients I've read about, and I so admire you for taking the bull by the horns, and not giving up.  Really does help me realize it's never too late to make such a positive change in our lives.

The retirement home/B&B sounds wonderful!  I imagine you do stay busy and active, taking care of your house, business, as well as the acreage.  One of my dreams is spending a few days at a B & B with my sweet husband.  Yours sounds like just the kind of place I'd like to find!  To be honest, one of the reasons I've never really pursued such a getaway is that I'm afraid of being too big for the furniture!  Seems like many places are old, historic homes, furnished with nice antiques, and I shudder to think of breaking something because of my weight.

I'm glad to meet you, and hope to get to know you and all the over-50 crowd!

Beth

I just realized there is an "over 50" thread here!  So glad to find you all.  I am Nancy and had RNY on Nov 8, 2011.  I am not losing very fast but I am moving forward. I started my journey last summer when I reached my highest weight of 313 and this morning I am at 255.

I am so glad to know there are others here closer to my age (58) that understand a whole different type of problems.  I go for a check up with my PCP for the 1st time since my surgery and I really hope he takes me off my BP and Cholesterol meds!
