Hi It's Saturday
Work so far has been going OK. I got to do a few pages (nothing exciting, mostly editing), had a little training so I could learn my way around the system ... generally kept busy.
I've been told I'll get my paycheck sometime early next week. Not that that will help wtih my rent check because it will be shorted out by the NSF fees caused by NOT getting the paycheck when I should've gotten the check in the first place.
And of course, I won't get the personal day because unused personal days don't get paid (no matter what my supervisor promised me ... should've realized she would lie to me once again). All this after I did them a favor by working through my vacation week and six days the week before Christmas. Should've known better. All that happened was I got screwed.
Well, today is another day at work and another day of unpacking. I dropped a heavy box label "small kitchen appliances" on my right leg. It's all bruised and it burns with the ice pack on it.
Everyone have a good day.
Eileen, ouch! I hope your leg is feeling better. Isn't there a law that says if you quit your job they have to give you your final paycheck within a certain number of days? If you're fired they have to give you your final check at the time of firing. That was the law in OR, when I worked there. I thought it was a federal law.
Speaking of OR, it looks like I will be going there to "babysit" our granddaughter next month. She is 15 so it's not really babysitting!
Today I am really gonna concentrate on getting this blue and white afghan finished! It isn't a pattern I like, so that is the problem. But it is the one our grandson and his girlfriend picked out.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!
Quiet day here. Up way to early, but wide awake. Much to do today as there is cat hair everywhere. Ellen usually does the tile floors, but she has been so busy at her job that I will sweep and try to clean the tile. My back will hurt, but I will handle it. Only one load of laundry to do.
Thinking of all, Will pray for all. Mag

Eileen,How sad about the mix up with your pay. I would think you could make them pay for the NSF charge. My husband is still sad that he didn't get the transplant, but he said we've waited this long, what's a few more weeks. If a person had no insurance, I guess they would just have to be blind or die. My husband is a veteran from Vietnam and served two terms in battle and has veterans benefits ontop of our two insurances and we told them that…oh well. I just have to stop. The social worker from the veterans called late yesterday evening and said that they had contacted the transplant team and had made some assurances for some compensation too. So, that woman…well, she just wasn't doing her job. Today, my hubby and I are taking our two grandbabies--Mathew and Baby Girl--to Crystal Bridges. Crystal Bridges is a huge museum that Waltons built--1.6 billion dollar set up and it is completely free. They have beautiful art exhibits and a nature trail. There are places in the museum where you walk through glass structures and can see out over the Boston Mountains and there are such beautiful views. It's one of our favorite places to take the kids. So, we are leaving at noon. Oh, did I tell you it is completely free. Yep and they give the kiddos an art lesson with beautiful paints and the kids get to keep the art. Other than that, we are just doing nothing that is not recreational. One last thing: My university's team won their game. I guess it was like one of the bowl games. I teach many of the athletes but last night, at around midnight, my phone sends an alert and because I didn't recognize the alert, I got up and looked--Hog Nation Rules and a liitle sooie pig thing. Yeah.
Eileen.... sorry about your check. Yes, they do have to get it to you in a certain amount of time and they definitely need to pay your NSF fee!!!! Hope you leg feels better soon.
Carolyn......I am sure you will have a great time with your granddaughter. At that age they can be a lot of help. ENJOY!!
Jeannie....sounds like a wonderful place to take your grandchildren. Have a great time!!!
Mag....I am worried you are overdoing....please be careful. HUGS!!
I just spoke with my ex-SIL. He is taking Grace tomorrow and is keeping her until Wednesday morning. I will have time to get my phone calls made and things done for my move. I was concerned how I was going to get everything done with Grace here. Jamie and Nic will be in Memphis/ St Jude's this week. Jamie was going to kennel the dog but I told her to leave Kippley here. I will be alone in this big house and Kippley will let me know if anyone tries to get in. She is a big Black Lab and is very protective. I will sleep better with her here!!
That's about it for me. Have a wonderful day everyone.
Praying for those in need...a few special prayers too.
Love and hugs to all....connie d
I am still in the hospital getting taken care of. There is talk of discharging me tomorrow or Monday, with visiting nurses coming in to take care of me. I appreciate the care I am getting but I miss my Utley and my queen size bed.
Nothing else is going on. Hope your leg feels better, Eileen.
Hugs,
Trish

Good morning, Eileen, and my OFF sistas!
Benny and I are having a quiet happy morning together. We had waffles, scrambled eggs and banana slices for breakfast. Now he's playing here in the den while I try to check my emails and stuff on the computer, but he keeps "helping" me type! LOL! He's such a little cuddlebug this morning. Just smiles so very sweetly and "talks" to me all the time. I love being a grandmother!
My daughter will be leaving shortly for the bridal shower and then 6 of those girls are going over to Shreveport tonight for the bachelorette party. She won't be bac****il tomorrow, so it will just be Benny and me today and tonight.
My mom came over for a visit yesterday and she and Benny had the best time together. They are such good pals! It's is so sweet to watch them play together.
Well, I got nothing but baby news this morning. Guess I'll close.
Love you all!
Well today I went to my Bariatric Support Group and it was a lot of new people there, getting their support group meeting before surgery. A nice group of people with all us regulars. They were still talking when I had to leave to go punch in for work. I love newbies.
So it's back to work for me, just wanted to say howdy and let's all have a great New Year. Tomorrow I'm singing with a small group of people for special music. Actually a trio and hubby is one of the trio. Hope to get people's foot's a tapping and get them clapping with the music.
The weather has been wonderful here in Michigan, didn't even wear a coat today. Sat out in the hot tub this morning with the sun shining on my naked body! LOL Okay I love sunshine.
Hugs and prayers for all in need. Debbie
Evening OFF family...seems I never get on here early anymore...LOL took a ride to Willoughby today to get some things at Rick's moms that he wanted. Talked to her and Anthony for a little bit. Nice to see the kid again...he is getting so big!! He loved his remote control helicopter we got him for Christmas. Ricks mom wants to wait til she comes to our place for her gifts to be opened...oh ok then. Took them back home with us. Nicole's also. Stopped off to see our friend Bob and he was so happy to see us again! Then Rick found Brian and Pam next door to Bob and they came in and said hello...nice seeing them all again. Then we left there and I see I was full of dog hair all over my navy blue jacket!!! GRRRRR So I told Rick I didn't want to go in BJ's after all. So we stopped at Jersey Mike's Subs and got a couple subs to bring home. We don't have one near us now and we love those subs!!! So we got home and lo and behold in the mailbox sat my last paycheck from BJ's!!!! WOW!!!! Only took them almost 2 months to get it to me!!! Now to see how long I wait for my W2 forms!!! Happy I finally got that check...only 4 hours but still its the point of the matter!!
Well Rick is unpacking boxes and moving stuff around again so I better get my butt in gear before he yells at me...LOL
Thoughts and Prayers for all that need them!!!
HUGS
