Hi Jo  -  I hope that you are feeling and doing well.
This is my last day of "freedom" before the roller coaster of a new semester takes off.  There is no getting off this ride until the final stop in April and what a ride it always is!
Today I'm having some French doors installed in my 170 year old house.  The original Fr. doors were all taken down but for two that were left up.  They are "butler" doors that swing in both directions.  So I had to replace the missing doors since I love the  antiquated and airy look of Fr. doors.  I found old hardware at a Habitat Re-Store, which will add to the look  -  that made me very happy.
Other than that, I am still getting my lectures prepared for next week and the months that follow.  I am teaching several sociology courses, my favourite, and I am in my element researching various topics.
I haven't had much time to respond to messages posted here, but I always read the posts daily.  I know that many are suffering, both physically and emotionally, and I want you all to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Eileen - I hope that the angst of your move is over and that the new job is everything you hope it  to be
Monica - kudos to you and the travelling bra!  What a journey you have embarked on and have successfully conquered more that 400 magnificent days - here's to thousands more!
Connie - you are a stronger person than you think you are and you are doing the best for you - the rest will work itself out
Nancy B - what a trouper you are!  I know that you will come through the radiation feeling sore and fatigued, but you will be in much better shape after having this treatment
Vickie - what a pleasure it has been to come to "know" you  - a smart, strong woman who takes on tasks (both physical and emotional) and forges ahead  -  you are really an inspiration and someone I would like to have as a friend in the "real" world
let's celebrate the strength we all have  -  I don't think that I have "met" a group of stronger people than I have on this board!  kudos to all of us for taking on life and doing the best that we can

Good Morning Jo....nice to see you start the thread. Hello to everyone else too.
Where is everyone??? The board has been a bit slow this week.

I am doing laundry as always on Fridays. I told my daughter last night that I can no****ch Grace on the 20th as I will have final moving and packing to do. They will be loading my things Friday evening. Leaving early in the AM that Saturday. She never answered me!! Like I have said numerous times I don't know who this person is and where is my daughter???

I may take Grace to McDonald's to play after I finish laundry. She loves it there and I can actually relax a bit.

There are so many of you needing prayers...I have my list and am praying for you!

Have a great day all you wonderful friends!!!

Love and hugs for all......connie d

Wishing all my OFF FRIENDS a very good weekend.  So many on here with health issues, moving problems, and the like -- but we are a strong group of women and we
will survive!!!

I almost feel bad that my life is so good and I am so incredibly happy.  Bobby and I talk on the phone 3 to 4 times a day, but it's just not the same as being together.  I hope to be able to go back to see him in a week or so, depending on the weather.  He will be very busy until mid-april when tax season is over.   He has over 1100 clients to take care of between now and then.  We already have 3 trips planned for May.

Taking a tiny break from work, but need to get busy now.  It's warm and sunny here in southwest Michigan today -- temps to reach 50 degrees!

Have a wonderful weekend,
Hugs,

I am still in the hospital till either Sunday or Monday. They are talking either rehab or home care from here. Wound is improving.  Still getting a ton of pain.

My New York son sent me adorable flowers yesterday. I posted a pick on Facebook.

Love to all

Trish

Good morning Jo and my OFF sistas!

This will have to be a quick one this morning.  Benny is keeping me hopping today!  Such a busy bee he is!  We've had our breakfast and it was so much fun.  He's a healthy little boy with a big appetite.  Had scrambled eggs, oatmeal, cheese toast, and orange slices.  Plus cheerios to keep him occupied while I was cooking!

I am having a battle with the insurance and MDAnderson hospital over a dumb medical bill from back last April.  It's for bloodwork, of all things, and should have been paid immediately.  But the hospital coded it wrong and the insurance won't pay it.  I feel like I am herding cats on this issue!  Just made yet another phone call to the hospital this morning and once again I was told that they would take care of the problem.  Yeah, right.

I get to keep Benny all day while my daughter is busy making preps for a bridal shower she is co-hosting this weekend.  I am so happy to have them here.  And it's warm enough for Benny and I to get outside and play awhile today.  Mom is coming over to see Benny this afternoon.  So today will be a fun day.

Hoping everyone else is doing well or getting well.  Trish, hope you are better soon.  Connie, you can do this--just keep putting one foot in front of the other.  Eileen, you have been so brave and so strong.  Hang in there!  You're almost settled in now.  Nancy, I'm praying for you and your next round of treatments.  Nan, we miss you here.  Hope you are doing okay.  Please post when you can.  Margaret, I know you will have a good semester.  The first week is always so chaotic, but then it settles down into a routine for both the prof and the students.  Monica, don't enjoy that pool and hot tub TOO much, you hear?  And Grammylew, when are you going to have us all over for dinner?  LOL!  Can't wait to hear about the new stove/oven adventures.

I'm sure there are others I meant to address, but as usual, CRS has kicked in.  But you know I . . .

love you all!

Vickie, I fought this medical bloodwork billing nightmare for several years before I and the doctor's office got the hang of coding it for "medica malabsorpton". I make sure that is how it is written up and have had to have it rebilled several times. Now I double check before having my annual bloodwork done.

Hi Jo and my OFF family:

Well, one more part of the move from hell. I was supposed to get my final check from my former employer. I thought it would be deposited directly in my old account today. It wasn't. So now I'm trying to find out why. I wrote my rent check out against that. So it bounced big time. I could scream. Why can't anything work out the way it's supposed to?

Work was OK last night. Nothing too much. I proofed some pages and did one page on the computer. They didn't have all the programs loaded onto my computer, so I had to use an intern logon. It was kind of slow, but that's OK for now. I'm used to being a little bit busier (the CPC in Monroe was never slow). Such a different managerial style, though ... very complimentary, even on the little things. All I ever heard in Monroe was yelling.

I hope I'll hear back on my check soon. I'm very pissed off about this.

Have a good day.
