Hi everyone.  Haven't written in a while.  I have lost 39 pounds, and have 20 more pounds to go.  It has been 7 months and at first it was going fast, but has slowed down a lot.  My doctor told me before the surgery that my metabolism was extremely slow which is true of all of my family.  Now I just want to pick up the speed again.  What to do?  Go back on the shakes?  two a day, and then one "meal"  .  Help!!

Hello...seeing what you posted looks to me like you are what they call a "lightweight" and losing the weight can be alot of waiting for it to go away. Your body is going through an adjustment and is probably trying to figure out what happened. OR your body just might "like" where it is at and you will stay there. But you can keep trying to lose the weight...do you have a NUT? If so give her/him a call and see what they can tell you to do. Good Luck!!

A NUT is short for Nutritionist (not sure I spelled that right). As for me saying you are a lightweight means that you were not that overweight. You posted that you lost 39 pounds so far and only have 20 more to go. 59 pounds total is all that you needed to lose??? Did I misunderstand you?

OH...okay.  I get it.  Yes. I will go back to my nutritionist.  that is really good advice.  I was going to her weekly for the first three months, and I think that is the way to continue.  I will watch the carbs.  I have trouble exercising as I had a total knee replacement, with NO Quadricept muscle.  One in ten million people are born with NO quad, and I am one of them.  This makes it hard for me to do any aeorobic activity as I was told to "protect" the prosthesis as it won't last as long as others.  This is why I did the gastric sleeve , as I was totally un successful at losing weight , and my weight was just increasing with every passing year after menopause.  Yes, I needed to lose 60 pounds in total.  The knee replacement is at risk if I didn't lose the weight, amoung other things of course.  Thanks for all of your encouragement.

Hi there,
I don't know exactly what you are doing as far as exercise, but I was able to increase my exercise the last few months (3 months) and I've lost 26 pounds. Also try changing up your exercise routine. Many say that helps also. Karen is righ****ch those carbs. They sneak up on you. If not journaling your food and exercise; try that. I find being accountable, even if only to myself, helps termendously. I know you can continue your journey as a smaller and healthy woman. Best thoughts going your way.
