 Good Morning OFF Family,
Had a nice visit with kids and family yesterday.  Am upset with younger son about something he did.  Must pray about this one.

Today my older son is coming in, and we will exchange gifts.  Other than that, nothing else.

Hope everyone is blessed today.

Hugs,
Trish

Good mornin' ya'll.
An Amber Alert in our state. Kids dying in a house fire in CT. Kids being sexually and/or physically abused all over the country! Somehow kids should be exempt from ALL bad stuff until they turn 18!!!! Then they can protect themselves! Sorry, enough of that!
My DIL and I went through my fabric box yesterday and picked a few bigger pieces out. Today I go to Han**** Fabric to get corset boning and D rings and begin experimenting with making nursing covers. I hope they are easy and look good. We have 3 friends who are nursing.
My DH has ham and beans in the crock pot using the Christmas ham bone. I HATE ham and beans. Everyone else loves them. And they all agree that Grandpa's are the best! We all have our talents!
When I go out to Han**** Fabric I will stop and mail a box of frozen goodies to our daughter. She loves certain of the stuff I make every year, so I send her a few. They will get there before our grandson has to go back to the academy.
Our granddaughter goes to get her Learner's Permit today! How can my youngest grandchild be 15 already?!?
My DH and I both have doctor appts on Thursday. My DH got a notice for jury duty and we have to have the doc fill out the form that says he can't do it. He has to do this EVERY year, and I have never gotten summoned here in NC. My DH can't do it because 1. He would fall asleep several times a day in the middle of the trial. 2. He would have to be excused to use the bathroom several times a day in the middle of the trial. And when he said he had to go, he has to be close to a bathroom and GO. 3. He can't sit for long stretches of time before his legs go to sleep and his back seizes up. If we are going somewhere in the car we have to stop AT LEAST every 2 hours for him to stretch his legs, go to the bathroom and unkink his back. I know that getting summoned doesn't necessarily mean he will be called, BUT it's better to be safe than sorry!
Well, I gotta get my fanny moving!
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Carolyn, On my computer your fabric store spelling is "bleeped." Funny that Han****'s is now rated XXX! My daughter had one of these "Hooter Hiders" when nursing Briley. Do you want a pattern? If so when I'm over there in a couple of weeks I can make you one. It looked quite easy and was of a cute cotton print. What will they think of next? Of course when I was nursing you retreated to a private area like it was a crime or something! I would think there would be patterns on line also. IMHO "bigger would be better" as far as length and width goes.

UPDATE! Carolyn, There is a great Youtube tutorial for these nursing covers. With your expertise these will be quick and easy. What a great useful gift!

A wonderful but exhausting week has come to a close. Erin and her family headed home yesterday. Nate, Kristin and puppy "Ellie" are still here. I'm glad they are staying over for a couple more days as we hardly had time to visit with them.

How do I not spend most of my time cooking and cleaning>They all do help but it's just a lot of extra bodies for a long period of time. I'll try to leave holiday decorations up until Nate and Kristin leave but I'm already into that "clean and purge" feeling. Too much "stuff" everywhere. I started reclaiming my vacant space yesterday by putting up the port a crib and putting away the blowup mattress that was Hannah and Clara's bed for the week. Piles of children's books, games and playthings have been sorted and stored away, extra leaves removed from the table and holiday dishes put back in the cupboard. It's starting to look less like a hoarder lives here! Guess I was to busy to notice my aches and pains but man oh man, every joint in my body hurts today. I'm going to look into a stretching class at the gym. I've decided after about 3 weeks of chiropractic that that is not helping me a bit. Still have the mierable shoulder, stiff neck, and nots in my upper back. The hot tub helps as much as anything. I'm heading out there now as the sun rises. You all take care.

 Good morning Trish and everyone...

A not so wonderful day here. I told my ex-SIL I was moving. He feels bad about that as he knows how much the kids love having me here. My daughter took off last night. She didn't say a word to me all day. I finally text her last night that I am leaving. She still hasn't answered. I am having a lot of guilt as Nic is so sad and angry at his mom.  I can't imagine how Grace will react. Last night when Grace got home from her dad's she just pretty much clung to me. She didn't want her mom to read her a story or help her brush he teeth. She only wanted me. She cried when I made her go with her mom. What can I do????

Wishing you a great day. You know I love you all!!

Praying for those in need.

Love and hugs to all.....connie d

Connie, I'm so sorry you are going through this ... it has to be tough on your grandkids, especially Grace. She knows you are the one who takes care of her.

Evening OFF family!!

Well today I had my boss here and we talked about the maintenance man we have. He is refusing to help with the cleaning here and flatly refuses to do what we ask of him among other things. He has been running his mouth at the bar and all over the complex also about us. We will be getting a letter from the boss and handing it to him tomorrow. She also gave me a guys name and phone number for us to set up an interview if he is still interested in working here. Looks like thoe one we have now is about to get the boot. And after what he did or should I say didn't do while we were gone its a good thing to get rid of him!! Boss is furious with him from what I told her. She said we can't have that at all and he will get this letter and we will go from there.

Had my lady that looked at apartment come back today and put a deposit on the apartment after she was accepted from her check up on credit etc. Looking at her moving in the 1st week of January. Very happy!!! Another bonus for me!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Other than that today its rained off and on and changed to snow off and on also. Snow is sticking now...yuck!!! So pretty coming down but does it have to STICK??? LOL

Time to get supper going so Prayers and thoughts for all in need!!!

HUGS

Sober 422 days and so proud of me. Busy day, spent at the VA hospital. Hubby got his new teeth, glasses, and we met with a terrific gastroenterologist and discussed the results of his barium swallow. Hubby needs an upper endoscope to clarify the abnormal swallow. He will have it Jan 31st. His new dentures are so well made and good looking. His teeth had to be pulled due to his grinding them down to stumps due to his PTSD. The first dentures made 3 yrs ago have broken 3 times and never fit him well. The dentist down here specializes in dentures and the results are amazing. She is young and so dedicated.  I was asked to come in on 2 visits to give my opinion on the size and color of the new teeth. We are very grateful for the VA here.
I am doing very well on the cymbalta, 60mg dose. Doctor is pleased and has given me another months supply....samples he gets from drug reps. I am thrilled with the medications results, have much less pain, am sleeping better, and no ill effects.
Sad to read about the various family issues and pain many are living with now. Daily prayers are offered.
Be well and enjoy the coming new year. Monica
