Christmas is over and done with...had a such a good time with family this year!!! Grandaughters LOVED thier afghans and my son's girlfriend was awestruck over hers!!! Her mouth dropped to the floor when she opened hers up! It was a moment that will not be forgotten at all!!! Soon as the girls opened theirs up they opened it up fully and laid on the floor and covered up with it and got all cozy!!! :-) Ahhh the love I felt when they thanked me!!! Gave my son the spotting scope for him to use for sighting in his guns and whatever else he may want to use it for. We (Gary and I) used it in our room upnorth to look out over the water to Mackinaw Island and see the ships when they were out there. Was pretty cool to see them really close when they were so far out there. I have no use for it now and I am sure he will love using it...he was shocked to see that gift...:-) My youngest son again never showed up but I did call him. So 2 Christmas's and still not seeing him yet. :-(

Anyhow lots of gifts and lots of love being with family again was the best!!! They all liked our new truck too...lol

Went to church with mom and sister...not sure I will go again if that same priest is saying mass. Had a heavy accent and also told those of us that were not practicing catholics to stay in our seats and pray and that we needed to go to confession first...we could NOT take communion....he told those that were of a different religion they also had to stay in their seats and pray. ONLY those that were practicing catholics COULD take communion...so sad!!! How dare that priest tell those that wanted to take communion that they could NOT!!!!!!! Never has anyother priest there said that!! They all said EVERYONE was welcome to recieve the body of CHRIST!!!!!!! So like I said I think I am done going to church there!!!!

Well time to get things put away and ready for wrestling at 9. Hope you all had a very Merry CHRISTmas!!!!!!!!!

Love and Hugs

Glad you had a nice time, Judy ... too bad the priest had to  make you feel bad. And that is why I am a nonpracticing Catholic, and why a lot of people who were brought up Catholic have left the church. We don't feel welcome, we don't like how women are treated (in that we are left out of the participation of the liturgy) and we don't like the sexual abuse scandal (although it also happened in other churches, it was covered up for years in the Catholic Church).

What's important is the relationship you have with God, not what some priest says you have. Screw him.

But what's important is you made your mother feel good by going with her.

Moving this week ... got your card, thank you. Not sending any out this year.

Wish I could help you get moved I know its a huge pain in the ass to do it soo soon......and I understand that you didn't send cards out this year...next year will be much better for you just wait and see!!!! (we are still living out of boxes and now that Christmas is over with we can concentrate on getting settled in!!!)

Judy...Welcome Home!!!!

Sounds like overall you had a great Christmas. It must have been wonderful seeing your mom and family again. Sorry your youngest son didn't show up. He will one day.

That priest is wrong and should be reported for his actions. God doesn't work that way and he would not approve of his antics!!

I too left the Catholic Church for about the same reasons as Eileen. I am now Lutheran and I
am much happier with the services and the way we are treated.

HUGS....connie d

Hi Connie..well as for you changing over to lutheran I am all for it myself!! I told my mom that I wanted to switch when I heard a lutheran minister do a funeral and he was so interesting to listen to...she about **** bricks about me changing!!!! Sooo until she passes away I am catholic and not practicing as of now because of that priest...shame on him!! The catholic church has gone so far down hill over the years and now this guy....OMG!!!! Like I said I will NOT go back to church again because of the treatment we got Christmas eve!!! And I am sure there will be plenty of others that will not go back there as well!!!!

Sad that I didn't get to see my youngest son again but he stayed away because of his wife....she is NOT welcome at anyones home because she is a thief and a druggie. So he stays away so she will stay away. His loss. I figure if he wants to see me bad enough he will come over when I am there. I refuse to go to my ex-husbands where they were at. Bad memories of him beating me half to death and why should I put myself at his place when I know I am safe from him away?

Hope that you had a happy Christmas and know that you can ALWAYS email me to talk about it or anything!! I will NOT tell anyone of your problems at all...:-)

Love you and bunches of HUGS

Hi Judy,

Well, it sounds as if your Christmas was fantastic. I am so happy for you. It's good to be with family.

As for being Catholic? All my high school friends were Catholic so I thought I should be one too. Not exactly the reason to change but what can I say? I was told I couldn't take communion if I hadn't been to confession way back in the 60's. Also told I could not be Michael's God-mother if I didn't go to confession first. So I went to my own confession. Straight to God in an attitude of prayer and praise in my own home. When they ask if I had been to confession I said yes with a good feeling that I was not lying. So much for being Catholic.
