Thank you so much Trish....you are just a sweetheart!!

This is just a horrible mess...I feel totally defeated and used.

Thanks to for the email offer. When I can I will let you know the whole story. It is too painful and hurtful to talk about now.

Love you ....oodles of hugs.....connie d

I am spending the day reading.  I am so tired of all the cheer and all the eating and all the people every where.  I brought my granddaughter home with me again and she, Granddad, and I are spending the day watching cartoons, reading, and avoiding any thing Christmas.  I have a huge ham in the refrigerator that I am going to have to either freeze or make some beans or something.  Maybe I'll put on a pot of beans and a pot of peas.  The ham bone will make a nice thick and tasty broth and I can move it from one pot to the other.  Yep, that's what Immagonna do.  Well, I don't know about you guys, but I am ready to get back to my normal routine.  I have not been to the gym in four days and my muscles are so sore.  I have been doing yoga but I miss the walking.  Well, I need to go and get rid of my cold cup of coffee and get a fesh hot cup.  Happy day after.

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

It was a quiet Christmas for me ... Skyped with my brother and mom, went to work, ate too much, am paying for it now. I'm going to purge my body of the crap today and eat good stuff again. I've been stress eating and it's showing ... tummy is not happy at all ... major IBS flare.

Work was rather quiet ... six pages, helped out with another while I could, still got done at midnight. Some coworkers said goodbye, others just left. No big deal here, someone is always leaving. Handed in my keycard and nametag, filled out my timesheets and left. On Friday, this one young man (who I think is gay ... but he's a sweet young man who is one of the few who comments positively on my baked goods) gave me a hug goodbye and said he would miss my zucchini bread and cakes and such. I like him ... he's made the CPC a little livelier ... it was so dead before.

It is raining again today. My cat rescue friend Patricia and I are going out to lunch; then she's coming over to help me pack (I'll recruit anyone!). I'll probably rent a movie for entertainment ... all of mine are packed.

Well, have a good day. I didn't have any packages to unwrap, just boxes to pack. That's OK, I have a good gift in a new job.

Hello, everyone.

I confess that I'm glad all the pressure is over. Christmas morning, JB and walked next door..bitter cold wind and I was wiped out by the time I got to their door. I’d better explain..my younger son Derek is property manager for a bi-level house on a “farm” the same size as ours right next door…The owners had closed off the bottom floor to rent as an apartment and Derek’s girlfriend signed the lease..well, guess what, Derek has flown the nest (they've been dating a year now already) and moved in with her. They are both mid 30s and seem VERY happy and JB and I LOVE her! Kathy/Kasia(her Polish name) adores Derek, is independent, knows what she wants, works hard, talented, great sense of humor, smart, pretty and a professional chef. They’re are so well-matched! And I am so happy…Derek really needed a mate. He even quit his BOUNCER JOB at the club, not because Kathy was jealous(she has great self-esteem) but because they wanted more time together. Makes me happy too..that was a terrible and dangerous job!

Back to brekkie: Kathy made French toast w/ real maple syrup, sausages and eggs..I had one slice of French toast and pure berry juice. Dan showed up too. Amy was to go to her father’s for breakfast.  He brought his DVD of their Mexico -Mayan Riviera trip last month and we watched that, then John, Dan and I went back home..I had a short nap, then Amy came and we exchanged gifts…she left for her father’s dinner and Dan stayed for ours..at 6pm, we went back next door and met Kasia’s parents and had a feast.

Kathy had made Beef Wellington, Derek deep-fried a turkey and Kathy’s Mom made meat on a stick(Polish food)…mashed potatoes, corn, salad, homemade breads not to mention six kinds of cheeses, shrimp, Polish kolbassa, wines, chocolates and homemade pecan pie. I had a bite of this and a bite of that tho I have to say the turkey and Beef Wellington were superbe! So I really did very well with my food intake. After clean up, we watched WILD HOGS..so darned funny!! Then time to go home and hit my bed! I was so tired. A WONDERFUL DAY! I got a call a few days ago canceling my Dec 30 meeting with my Oncologist because the forensics from that new expensive test wouldn’t be back yet from California…and apparently that test will make the final determination of which treatment I get…so I may still be getting the IV chemo. It’s the WAITING that is so hard. One incision is finally closed..from Nov 8th! The other is still looking pretty ugly. They said I will have an MRI to check for more cancer that may have traveled beyond my lymph nodes. I meet my Radiologist Dec 30th In the meantime, I remain tired..I refuse to go shopping today BOXING DAY to “save money”.

I am also proud of our Danny who took his next level Pilot’s licence exam..EXTREMELY DIFFICULT AND LONG -deliberately so..

Dan got 94 %!! The instructors were VERY pleased and vocal about it….they want him to now take a special flight exam..4 hours. He is a bit short of flying hours/experience doing specific tasks but the instructors all say that he is ready for the flight. Well, now that I’ve finished my green tea, I do believe a nap is required..I’m hoping Kathy sends Derek over later w/ leftover turkey *s* Be well, be safe and be happy!Nancy B

Good afternoon, ya'll.

Well, we had a fantastic Christmas dinner. We had the same group over that was here for Thanksgiving, with a couple additions and a couple not here. Again, a friend, Jo, whose husband is in Afghanistan, her daughter and son-in-law (he leaves for Afghanistan in Jan.), her son who is home on leave and leaves for Afghanistan in February. A friend of one of the guys who had nowhere to go for Christmas. We fed them all. Sent home lots of leftovers. The boys fought over the oreo cookie dessert until one of them snuck it out of the house to put in his car. Of course, our grandson who just went to IN, was not here. After we ate and my DIL and Jo cleaned up the kitchen us girls sat and talked about it. The first time our DIL has really shared her feelings about it! The grandson did call and there were lots of texts back and forth! He misses a 'family' Christmas. Apparently his girlfriend's family don't do much for Christmas.

Our son, DIL and younger grandson were just here for leftovers. Our DIL said, "Jo and I talked last night and we decided it's important to keep these traditions alive. The big family Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners." our son says "Where's Mom goin'?" she said nowhere, but they want to be sure their grandkids have the happy memories of holidays that her kids have. Jo's DH is gonna retire next year and our son will retire the year after. They will all be staying here in J-ville. They have all been stationed together in many places over the years and expect their families will spend lots more time together in the future. Their kids are like cousins all sharing so many memories! I told them in another 20 years I'll be happy to hand over the reins and start going to their houses for big gatherings!

I took down Christmas this morning. Our grandson helped me get it all back to the shed, after the guys alll had a nap, of course! Now everyone is gone. The dishwasher is running. I have swept and mopped again and I am about to bring my recliner back into the living room where Christmas was.

Eileen, I am so happy that you are done with the old and headed for the new! I remember when this was the new one. You had high hopes and a new furbaby. I hope the next one is a great fit for you and you will be happy as a clam there!

I hope everyone travelling gets home safely. Those that had a trying Christmas because of 'loved ones', I know things will get better, or you will at least be able to let go and accept!

Have a fantabulous day!
