For Judy--Banana Split Cake (or Pie)
Judy,
I have made this as a "pie" and as a "cake". It all depends on what size dish you want to use. You can cut the recipe in half and make it in a graham cracker crust for a pie. (The full recipe will make 2- 9" pies.) Or you can make the full recipe using angel food cake in a 9x13" pan. Up to you. (P.S. I have never tried to "lighten" this recipe, but I suppose you could use sugar-free cake and pudding.) Hope your friend likes it!

Banana Split Cake
Store bought Angel Food Cake, sliced into 1" slices
2 pkg (3 oz) instant vanilla pudding
1 can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
2 c. cold milk
4-5 med bananas, sliced
1 20 oz. can crushed pineapple, drained
20 oz carton of Cool Whip (or 2- 8 oz. cartons)
Hershey kisses, chopped nuts, maraschino cherries
In 9 x 13" pan, layer slices of angel food cake.
In large bowl, beat milk, sweetened condensed milk, and pudding mix together for 2 min. on low speed. Pour pudding mixture over cake slices.
Top pudding with sliced banana and crushed pineapple. Cover completely with Cool Whip.
Decorate with Hershey kisses, chopped nuts and cherries, as desired.
Chill at least 4 hours before serving.

This was always a really good recipe! So easy to make, too. I just don't dare make anything like this right now. Anything made with Eagle Brand and Hershey's kisses would tempt me beyond my control. I know I would have to eat some of it, and then I would be sick, etc. But if you need a dessert for a crowd, this is it. Fast and no baking!
(I have so many recipes that I can no longer make. What am I going to do with them all?)
