Good Morning Folks,

Been up since 4:30 since I did not sleep well the night before last, went to bed last night at 8:30. . .  was worried about my Roxie girl, but vet came and she has a slight ear thing going on, that and probably the cut she sustained last week was bothering her, so I can breathe a sigh of relief within that, though it lightened my purse by $164 when all was said and done, as she sits right here next to me looking at me with those beautiful eyes of her, I can say she is worth every dime, besides poppa (Tony) will give me the money for her ;)

Anyway, today I am going to work and at noon leaving to do a volunteer thing that we put together at the office to give back to the community, it's helping at a food bank, so will drive there and work for 3 hours, then head to home depot to pick up paint and supplies to paint the front rooms of my house this weekend.  Those are my plans?  What are yours?

Sending out good thoughts to all and wishing peace and strength to those facing the more serious life challenges, may you find all the strength you need in knowing that we support you and wish for your health and well being!!!

Hugs, Laureen

Good morning Laureen and all those to follow,
Laureen, sure hope Miss Roxie (and her momma) are doing better soon!

We received a surprise snow fall last night, just about an inch or two. Not much by some of your standards, but it becomes a big fat mess in a hurry. They've already reported 8 wrecks on local freeways. Glad I don't need to be in until 10:30 this morning. Let them get it all cleared out before I go.
Post op appt/ path report looms large in my thoughts. Everyone at the salon has been so wonderful to me. Funny, they weren't so when I had the small bowel obstruction/ hernia/ gallbladder surgery or my plastics, but they are sure making up for it now. I appreciate them more than I can say.

Off to get Gary's bkfst ready. Hope everyone has a grand day!

Hi Laureen

Today is work day and still trying to find an outfit or two.  Plan is to get it today or wear rags.  I know what you mean about the fur babies.  One of my girls isn't feeling well, so I am calling her doc and see what's up.  They all all four worth it too.  They give me many hours of destress relief.

Hope you all have a good day.

 Good Morning Laureen and OFF,
I sure understand about Roxie.  I would worry about Utley if he were sick.  Fortunately, he is fine today.  In fact, he is licking my toes right now.

Today, I will hit my early AA meeting.  Yesterday's was so good.  After that I have to go to a friend's to pick up a cookie dough order for Christmas, and drop off a gift for my Secret Sister at Bible study.

When I get home, I have to wrap presents.  I have a ton of toys to wrap for the Munchkins.

God bless.

Hugs,
Trish

Good mornin' ya'll.
Well, I leave next Thursday to go get this sleeve looked at and have a pouch reduction. I am just so discouraged about this. I originally got the band cause I didn't want my guts cut up or rerouted. And I loved my band when it had the perfect fill. After 2 years of trying to get back there and winding up with a leaky port or tubing, I decided a revision to a sleeve was what I wanted. My research said weight loss was about the same as with RNY. NOT!!! I can eat massive quantities of anything I want!! I have no will power anymore since I began relying on my band to do most of my work for me. This better work. Like my DH points out, I have about $20,000 into my gut for WLS and related expenses, and my regain continues!!
Enough grumping, sorry!
Today is supposed to be gorgeous. I guess I should get my tail outside and clean up my flower beds. I have been putting it off cause the weather has been nasty! Of course, if I wait until tomorrow the weather will be nasty again. Hmmmmm! Such a dilemna.
We are having the same families over for Christmas dinner that we had for Thanksgiving. One of them, the husband/father is in Afghanistan. The other family is the daughter of the first couple and her DH leaves for Afghanistan right after Christmas. Oh, the parents also have a son over there. I love cooking for a crowd. It gives me three days of something to do!
Gotta run. I have a grandson who just pulled in. He will be wanting breakfast.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Caroline,

I'm sorry you're having so much trouble with your revision surgery!  You know, I had a gastric band put on back in 1993.  It worked great at the beginning.  I lost 140 lbs and I was so happy.  But eventually the band failed.  I've read several accounts of bands failing, even the newer lap bands.  I've come to the conclusion that a lap band is a short term solution.  They just don't provide lasting results for most people.  But it does sound like something went drastically wrong with your gastric sleeve.  I don't mean to butt in, but have you considered having a U.S. doctor just look at your current sleeve and maybe offer an assessment?  I'm sure you trust your Mexican doctor, but it couldn't hurt to have a second opinion, could it?  Just to be sure everything is okay.

Vic, I couldn't even find a surgeon who would look at my band to see where my leak was. I KNOW I won't find one to check my sleeve!
I love my Dr. Ortiz. I loved my band. I have many friends and relatives who got bands from him. One has had her band 7 years and still going strong.
I have heard that going directly from band to sleeve can require a tweak. There was a gal there while I was and she was getting a sleeve and she had her band off 3 months. We have been in touch and hers is working great. We shall see next Thursday.

Good morning Laureen, and my OFF sistas!

Another day starts with breakfast for my guys.  I'm starting to feel like a short order cook!  You forget how much work babies are!

So yesterday we went car shopping again.  We had it narrowed down to a choice between a Toyota Highlander and a Mazda CX-9.  Lots and lots of people told us to go with the Highlander.  And it is a very nice vehicle--no doubt about that.  But the Toyota dealership just could not match the same interest rates or discounts or incentives that the Mazda dealership was offering us.  Plus the Mazda CX-9 outranked the Toyota on 3 major auto sites: Edmunds, Kelly Blue Book, and U.S. News.  Plus the consumer reviews for the Mazda were overwhelmingly 5 stars.

But all of that aside, I just plain LIKED driving the Mazda better.  It "fit" me.  I really liked it.  So we decided to give the go-ahead to the Mazda place.  They are searching for an AWD for us.  Looks like it might have to come from the factory, but that's okay. I can wait, even though I WOULD like to have my new car before Christmas.  But I'm a big girl.  I can wait for January.

After we finished car shopping, we were starving, so my sweet husband took us out to eat.  We tried a Mexican restaurant.  This is my second try at Mexican, and once again, it just doesn't sit real well with me.  I felt kinda "sicky" all the way home, but I never did get truly sick.  And I didn't eat much either, so that helped.  I guess Mexican is just over for me.  That's too bad, because 3 restaurants out of 5 down here are Mexican food.

So today I have to go on a quest to find this specialized dog food for Patty Kate.  I usually get it delivered from PetFlow, but this month's order went to the lakehouse address.  Bother.  It's down there sitting on the back porch and I need it here.  There is just no telling how far I'm gonna have to drive to find it today.  Plus I have to go to the bank, to the courthouse, and then finally have a haircut this evening at 5 p.m.  Lots of errands to run today.

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!  Love you all!

Hi Laureen and Off friends,

Hopefully Roxie will be herself quickly. I was so stressed when my animals were sick.

It won't be long now. I weighed 201 today. I know I shouldn't but I am weighing every day waiting to celebrate being in "onederland."

Not too much happening today. Doctor appointment this AM. He already said he is sending me to an infectious disease doctor. I get so tired of the run around. I only have IV antibiotic for today. Hope my PCP will order them but who knows.

Everyone have the best day possible.   Hugs  Mag

Hi Laureen and my OFF family:

Sorry Roxie was sick; I know how I feel when my furbabies get sick ... they are my children. Juliette, fortunately, is healthy, other than the skin condition (funny, but she has folliculitis just like me).

Got an email from the HR person in Evansville; we are working to set up the drug screen. Can't get me out of here soon enough. Last night was a ***** at work. Bad management skills (not from me) made me a few minutes late ... this all falls down on me, of course, not on the manager.

Well, not much else ... it stopped raining at least, but still chilly here. Only 42 degrees. No snow ... although I hear there was snow in Shreveport. Well, have a good day, y'all.
