Ready or not--it's Monday!
Well another day of rain here in Winnie, TX. Windy too as the norther is moving in. Tonight it will be in the 30's here which is cold for this area.
Christmas concert yesterday was nice. They had several different choruses singing. They also had an audience sing along. They ended the concert with a Nigerian carol. It was lively and heavy on the percussion. I kept waiting for lions and elephants to walk across the stage.
Today will be cleaning and laundry day. Also have to return books to the library. My car is sitting in a massive puddle, so I'll have to dig my boots out to be able to get into the car with dry feet.
Nan, sorry to hear that you are cold all the time. Has the doc checked you for anemia? Having all that weight with the chemo you could be anemic. Of course you don't want to hear that. Stay warm and keep adding layers.
Trish, sorry the depression is getting to you today. I can relate as I have suffered from chronic depression for years. Some days are just meant for curling up in bed and vegging out.
Monica- were you recommending silf longjohns for Nan or saying that you're having to wear them in FL due to cold weather.
Vickie- enjoy that grandbaby. Is daughter's car not driveable? Can't she get it repaired at home? We need to set a date for a meeting. I'm now working T-F each week. Have S,S and M off. I'm even willing to drive up to Nagodoches to meet with you if Eileen can't make it. If not Shrevesport makes sense for a meeting place.
Hope everyone else is feeling well and having a better day. Cannot avoid housework and mouse control work anymore, so I'm off to the races.

The car is driveable for short distances, but the back passenger door is smashed in and the elements blow in, rain in, etc. Plus, the baby rides in the back seat. None of us are very comfortable with the idea of her making a 6 hour drive with Benny in the back seat right now. We will muddle through somehow. She and I rub each other wrong at least 45% of the time though. Takes a lot of patience and biting my tongue to make it through the day!!!
Hubby leaves next Monday on the 12th. I have a board meeting on the 17th. Then we're leaving for Hilltop (our lakehouse at Canyon Lake) on the 19th. So we might have to plan our get-together after Christmas. That okay with you? Shreveport would be lots of fun and hopefully Eileen will be able to join us, too.
Good luck with the mouse control. I fight that battle here in the country all the time. Nasty little buggers. Get some of those traps that trap the mouse inside the box and you don't have to deal with it. Also, the best thing I have found for bait is a bit of cooked pork, like bacon or sausage. Cheese never works.
Stay warm and dry today if you can!

Been a while since I checked in here on the daily thread, but I do come and glance in every once in a while. . . Vickie, nice new avatar. . .
Lots going on, too much to share here, just suffice it to say that I am watching from the sidelines as my youngest daughter is engaging in a relationship that is way too reminiscent of one I was in (2nd marriage) and I am sad that my beautiful, intelligent and very wonderful daughter thinks so little of herself, however, I have let her know that I support her right to be and do what she has to in order to live the life she chooses, even as she is distancing herself from me and her sister right now, she asked for my honest feelings on things and I told her what I felt and had to set limitations on what treatment I am willing to accept from her, because having lived what she is now living, I know that when we do things that we inside ourselves know are not in keeping with our true selves, we isolate from those who we "feel" are judging us, when in fact it is us who are not comfortable with how we are behaving. I only hope that she does not spend 7 years of her life trying to make something work that, quite frankly, I don't see happening.
Otherwise, life is good, got most of my Christmas shopping done, mostly kids and the older ones get money, because they like to shop for themselves.
Wishing all those of you who are facing serious life challenges, peace and strength to get through them, come out the other side better and healthy once more.
Hugs, Laureen

I agree, your new avatar is great! I love cowel necklines, I think they're really pretty on most everyone.
Today is my Sunday, so it's back to work tomorrow. Doing all the day off stuff, cleaning, laundry, cooking and playing on my iPad. So, it's a mostly productive day anyway...
Gary and I went to the mall yesterday just to get out and moving. It started raining about midnight Saturday and hasn't stopped. Gloomy, yucky day, a good one to stay in from .
Off to take care of the laundry and see if anyone is eating.
Hugs to all, especially those in special need

Thanks Laureen and Susan! I'm still pretty camera-shy. I don't like to have my picture taken. But I am trying to do a little before and after documentation. It's not easy to see the "thin" girl yet. I still see the "fat" girl.
And, Susan, I've been wanting to ask your advice about my hair. It's so thin and lifeless. I'm taking a biotin supplement every day, in addition to the biotin that's already in my vitamin regimen. Is there anything else I can take to help my hair recover from WLS? Thanks!
I've never had great hair, stinks when you're a hairdresser, so I decided to see about transplants. Seems the vast majority of hair loss in women is hereditary, meaning there just isn't much that can be done.
Have you talked to your stylist? She should be able to recommend some good styling products. Professional products really are better than the ones you'd buy at the store.
Sorry I don't have a good answer. Believe me, if I did my personal assistant would be handling all my correspondence!!
Susan
Seems like the older I get, the thinner my hair becomes. Sad story, huh? I've thought of trying that Rograine. Not sure how that might work for me. I can't help but think of my sweet Aunt Delia, who lived to the ripe old age of 97 and was almost bald. Bless her sweet heart. She colored her hair until the day she died.
Anyway, I've always said I would wind up like my Aunt Delia and it seems to be coming true! Maybe I'll just buy a wig!

Vic
Might give it a try, couldn't hurt
