What's new on TGIF?

 Connie,
Up until I had my toe surgery, my apartment was spotless, but after the surgery, things fell by the wayside.  Then, I went to Michigan, and upon my return, I felt like crap due to my anemia.  So, it is almost done.  All that is left is to tidy my bedroom, put a few more things in the basement, and vacuum.  It should take me about two more hours.

I am just taking a dinner break, coz I put a roast in the crockpot this afternoon.  Tomorrow, after the kids leave, I will make some beef vegetable soup.  I make it with three types of beans, plus leftover beef, to add protein.

Huggles,
Trish

Trish we had roast, potatoes, carrots and onions in the crockpot for dinner. Planning on making soup Sunday too!!

My place was always spotless. My friends always teased me that they could eat off my bathroom floor....LOL. I have had to lower my standards as I just can't do everything here anymore!!

Hello Grammylew and all of OFF,

I arrived home from the hospital yesterday afternoon. Still needing pain pills. Hard to think straight. Just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you.    Mag

Hi Mag!

So good to hear from you!  You have been missed here on OFF.  Hope you are feeling good and that your surgery was a success.  Write more details when you're able.  We all want to hear.

Mag, So glad that you are home. Knee replacements are not for sissies. I had both of mine done, one at a time, almost 10 years ago. The first 3-4 weeks are the pits and rehab is not much fun. Sorry to sound so negative; I don't mean to. Just realize that after that 3-4 weeks you'll start to really see the benefits. That physical therapy is so necessary to realize the full benefits. I always took a pain pill BEFORE I went to therapy and took them right on time those first weeks. Don't let the pain get away from you.  Sending positive thoughts your way. I always think I am super clever on pain pills. Everyone on here gets a chuckle when I try to post on drugs! Best wishes.

 Hi Mag,
So good to hear from you.  Keep on top of the pain.  My friend had double knee replacement surgery a couple of years ago, and she kept two bags of frozen peas in the freezer for the pain.  Works better than some ice packs.

I had minor knee surgery ages ago, and had to go to PT, and hated it, but the benefits are well worth it.  Hang in there.

Hugs,
Trish

Haven't been here for a couple days -- still reeling from the heavy wet snow we got Tuesday night -- nearly a foot of snow, tree limbs down everywhere and out of power for a long time -- saw on the news last evening, there are still over 250 ppl in our county out of power.   I did make it to work Wednesday morning -- only live 3 minutes away from the bank....had an escort from my car to the building -- these folks treat me so well!

Busy day yesterday -- paid bills, went to Kroger for groceries, then rushed home to mix up cheesy potatoes for a potluck at noon...got home around 2:30 - rested a bit, then back to the local store for fixings for a 3-bean salad needed for a funeral dinner on Saturday....needs to marinate for a couple days, so that is made and in the refrig.   Finally sat down to read the paper about 4:30!

Work this morning, then this evening my sis and I are going to see "Straight No Chaser" the awesome acapella group of guys from Ind. Univ. put on their Christmas show.....I am so excited to finally get to see them -- they come to Sturgis almost every year, and I've never gotten to go until this year.

Hope to get my little Christmas tree up tomorrow .    Have my shopping done -- most of it online -- just love that.

Prayers and best wishes to all,
Pat R.

Pat, I have never seen Straight No Chaser in person, but I saw them on World News Tonight a few years ago and fell in love. They are so good. I have their CD and listen to it on my MP3 player at work ... it's so great. They're talented and hilarious.

They were actually in Evansville last night ... but of course, I was occupied and the show was sold out. Oh well, I was too tired even if I could have gone.
