What's Up on Black Friday

Well, I just got home from a lovely, quiet dinner at my sis-in-law's house.  Her hubby lives and works most of the year in Saudi Arabia teaching English.  I got to see my niece, who lives in Arlington Virginia, where she is finishing a Masters in Forensic Psychology in December.  We had some great talks, and played some Scattergories and Scrabble.

On the way home, around 12:30 a.m., I drove through the nearby Walmart parking lot.  I have never seen it so full.  It was overflowing into nearby parking lots.

My plan for Friday is to hit an AA meeting, and then try to get to Joann Farbics with a 30% of entire purchase coupon by noon.  I want to get some fabric and thread to make a bunting for my daughter's baby, due in May.

I hope everyone is not suffering from overeating at dinner Thursday.  I was prudent in my food choices, and portions.  I did bring leftovers home to enjoy again.

Hugs,
Trish

Morning Trish,

I'm on my way to work for a bit and then hitting the streets for a LONG walk. I feel like a sloth this morning.
This afternoon our UofA Razorbacks play their rival LSU, so we'll be glued to the tv.  Whoo Pig Soooeee!

I have taught most of the players and they love the spirit of all the fans who watch them play. I once asked them a question:  when you are out on the field and are playing and tons of fans are calling the hogs or yell your name, what does it feel like.  One said, we are so focused on the game that we rarely hear it but when the fans aren't there or are not as loud, we don't have the same energy.  So, it's true that the Arkansas fans provide tons of hog energy to the boys.  Another thing they: they are always shocked that I don'****ch the games; that I don't know the game; and that I don't know who they are.  Maybe that's why I get so many of them in my classes.

Had a nice Thanksgiving with my kids and my sister.  My turkey feast turned out really good, sent 3/4 of the leftovers home with the kids, and brought the rest of the Dutch Apple pie to work this morning.

Wow, the bank is really deserted this morning -- looks like most employees have taken today off for shopping!  Not me, I do most of mine online....do have a couple items at Walgreens to get this afternoon, and tomorrow early, I'm headed to K-Mart to get a new small prelit tree at 50% off.

I ate a little of most everything and couldn't finish my plate....back to basics now!

Better get busy and do my job.  Prayers and good thoughts for everyone.  Have a great weekend,

Pat r.

Good mornin' ya'll.
Well, we had a total of 13 for dinner yesterday. Including the 4 year old who was more interested in rearranging the people in my Christmas village than eating, and the 3 month old. I had crochetted a cute little bunting for her to have her Santa picture in. It is red at the bottom with white at the top like a Christmas stocking.
I sent a lot of leftovers home, but still have a lot here cause our son and his family will be here for lunch!
My sleeve does not do anything! It is worse than an unfilled band! I have been online with OCC often since I had this revision. I feel like I should have just had the band repaired and kept trying to get a perfect fill back! With the band it was impossible to eat bread, rice or pasta, even unfilled. With the sleeve I can and do. Being gone and eating out for a couple of weeks didn't help!! Wednesday I got a call from my surgeon. He says they have had less than 10 band to sleeve revisions that needed a tweek. No charge except I'll have to pay for my plane ticket. Sooooo, I need to talk to my patient coordinator to coordinate date and time. I would like to get it done before Christmas.
Our son just called to say they are coming down to eat leftovers and then I am going with them to see the new Breaking Dawn movie.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Grammylew-

What size Bougie did your surgeon use?  That will dictate restriction.  Mine used a 39 and I can't eat more than a 1/2 cup at a time at the most.  Bread products do not sit well at all.  Hope your tweek works well.

Well, Cindi, I'm sure he told me, but I guess I forgot. I will ask when I talk to my coordinator next week. Maybe that is all my problem is. I hope it is an easy fix!

Good morning Trish and everyone....

Just saying hello.....things have gone from bad to worse around here. Glad Grace is in Kansas and doesn't have to deal with it.
I can honestly say this was the worst holiday I have ever had. I was greateful however that my granddaughter Kyleigh was here with me. We were alone and watched movies together.

Wishing you all a good day. Prayers for those in need.

Love and hugs to all....connie d

Connie:

So sorry you are having a bad time. Wish I could do something to make it better. I sure know how it is to feel depressed and like nothing is going well (went through this last year).  Here's a cyberhug from me to you.

Is there anything that will make it better? Is it living with your daughter that has made it so bad? I know if I went to live with my mother, I'd want to kill her in two weeks. I don't know how my brothers make it work. (Gary lives with my mom, Ed lives with his mother-in-law.)

Hang in there, maybe there's a solution somewhere. Wish I could offer support.
